Dorothy Crawford Linton
ROME, GA - Dorothy Crawford Linton, 87, of 10 Highway 411 E., Rome, passed away Thursday evening, February 27, 2003 at her residence.
Mrs. Linton was born in Blue Ridge, GA, on September 16, 1915, daughter of the late William Drayton Crawford and Lula Crawford. She was active in the Presbyterian Women and the Mixed Adult Sunday School Class at the Westminister Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Fitzgerald G. Linton Sr. on November 2, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Linton of Franklin, NC; two sons, Roger Charles Linton of Huntsville, AL., and Fitzgerald G. Linton Jr. of Naples, FL; two grandchildren, Michael David Linton of Tampa, FL, and Shelley Linton Reynolds of Atlanta; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eddith Price of Wrightville and Faye Brown of Atlanta; a brother, Bobby Crawford of Wrightville; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at the Westminister Presbyterian Church. The pastor, Dr. Kenneth McKenzie will officiate with Judge Robert Walther delivering the eulogy.

DAWSON - William Jr. "Billy" Martin Jr., DDS, died on Friday, February 28, 2003 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be held today (Sunday), 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Dawson with the Rev. Wyman Richardson and the Rev. Ken Hall officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Dr. Martin was a native of Lumpkin, born December 24, 1920, son of the late William Jefferson Martin, DDS and Addie Fain Martin. He was reared in Edison and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He graduated from the University of Georgia, receiving his Doctorate of Dentistry from Emory University in 1951.
He practiced Dentistry in Dawson from 1951 until he retired in 1994, in addition he also was active in agricultural interests. He had a life membership in the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association and was a member of the Fifth District Dental Society of Georgia. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawson and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, that he loved and was named Honorary President; the Terrell County V.F.W. and a former member of the Dawson Rotary Club and the Dawson Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Adams Martin of Dawson; a daughter, Cheryl Martin Waddell and husband, Doug of Albany; a son, William J. "Bill" Martin III and wife, Paige of Albany; a brother, Fain Martin, DDS, and wife, Teenie of Dawson; three grandchildren, Stephen Waddell and wife, Heather of Watkinsville, Jason Waddell and wife, Amy, of Pensacola, FL, and William J. "Billy" Martin IV of Albany; and one great-grandchild, MacKenzie Waddell of Watkinsville.

ALBANY - The funeral service of Maurice S. Clark, 82, of 3509 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA, who died Saturday, March 1, 2003, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. William Coker will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Mitchell County, GA, Mr. Clark had resided in Albany for the past 58 years, moving here from Worth County. Mr. Clark was a retired businessman and a former member of the Elks Lodge, the American Legion, the VFW and the Moose Lodge. He served his country during World War II in the Army and was attached to the First Marine Division. Mr. Clark was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Jones Clark of Albany; two sons, Maurice S. Clark Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and William P. Clark, all of Albany; three sisters and three brothers, Gladys C. Stewart, Elise C. Dalessio, Annabel Clark, Robert J. Clark, D. Jack Clark and William R. Clark, all of Tampa, FL.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, William R. and Rilla Hancock Clark; a sister, Ellen C. Cumbie; and two brothers, Elzie W. Clark and James I. Clark.

ALBANY - Terry D. Coleman, 66, of Albany, died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held Monday, March 3, 2003, 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery. The Revs. Dr. Donald M. Kea and Robert Beckham will officiate.
An Albany native, Mr. Coleman attended First United Methodist Church and graduated from Albany High School in 1956. He was a graduate from the University of Georgia in 1960 with a BA in Business Administration and had worked with Sears, Firestone Tire and Rubber and the Southwest Regional Development Center.
He was a professional percussionist playing with several bands including The Barron's, The Rhythm Master's, and The Dave Mercer Band. He also enjoyed playing tennis and golf.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Coleman of Pensacola, FL; a son, Donald Coleman of Pace, FL; a brother, Joe L. Coleman of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. and Sue Williams Coleman, and two brothers, Thomas R. Coleman Sr. and Donald M. Coleman.

Mrs. Peak was born August 23, 1909 in Walton County, GA, daughter of the late Thomas Harrison Hamby and Fannie Lou Leverritt Hamby. She was the oldest member of Damascus Baptist Church, having been a member for 75 years. She had worked for Kellwood Manufacturing Company.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley P. Greene and Lynette P. Yelverton, both of Cuthbert, and Barbara P. Wilson of Ecofina, FL; a brother, William Hershell Hamby of Monroe; and 23 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Clinton Peak; a daughter, Betty Lou Layne; three sons, Roger Elvin Peak Sr., William Clifford Peak Sr. and Robert Clinton Peak Sr.; two grandsons, Sidney Clinton Peak and Roger Elvin Peak Jr.; and three great-grandsons, John Tucker, Travis Carter, and William Clinton Peak III.

Born August 25, 1903 in Miller County, Mrs. Tully was a homemaker and a member of Mother's Home Freewill Baptist Church. She was also a lifetime member of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Joy Tully and wife, Joyce of Colquitt and Glen Tully and wife, Carolyn of Colquitt; a daughter, Christine Harrison and husband, Homer of Colquitt; 10 grandchildren, Glenda Repasz, Ann Everett, Patti Corley, Tammy Spooner, Gloria Lotz, Phyllis Harwood, Craig Tully, Cille Richardson, Gerald Jenkins, and Dillard Jenkins; 25 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Tully was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Tully; a son, J.P. Tully; and a daughter, Hilda Jenkins.

He served as sheriff of Grady County from 1968 until 1980. He was a member of Whigham United Methodist Church, the Whigham Masonic Lodge No. 356, the Hasan Temple, Albany, Georgia Sheriff Association, American Legion Post No. 122, VFW, and the D.A.V.
Survivors include his wife, Blonnie Brown Waldrop of Whigham; a son, Robert Lane Waldrop Jr. of Whigham; three grandchildren, Desiree Waldrop of Whigham, Alana Waldrop of Tallahassee, FL, and Michael Stephens Waldrop of Del Rio, TX; three brothers, Thomas Willard Waldrop of Jacksonville, FL, Donald Lee Waldrop, and Larry Ray Waldrop, both of Whigham; and a sister, Mary Dot Edmundson of St. Simons Island, GA.

Terrell Eugene Cooper
ALBANY - Terrell Eugene Cooper, 63, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at his residence as a result of cancer. He was born January 25, 1940, in Fitzgerald in Ben Hill County, GA, to the late Collvin Eugene Cooper, and is survived by his mother, Flossie Irene DeLoach Cooper, who now resides in Albany. He was previously in the Navy and had been in the service just prior to the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Mr. Cooper's professional career was as an independent manufacturer's representative and had been associated with the clothing industry including Bowden Manufacturing Company.
Surviving him, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Camilla Stevens-Cooper of Whitesburg; children, Tracy Lynn Cooper of Bremen, Amy Elizabeth Cooper Kirkland and her husband Tony of Columbus and Russell Eugene Cooper and his wife Natasha of Waco. Grandchildren are Brooke McDurmon, Megan McDurmon, Brianna Cooper, Brock Cooper and Jack Kirkland. A sister, Lorene Hoffman and her husband, Dale of Albany also survive. There are also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Sheila Crowe and Rev. Jim Hearn officiating. Interment will be in Whitesburg Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Woodie, Ben Porter, Ray Thompson, Jerry Reeves, Ben Skipper and Wyndel Carnes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Mansour, Bob Stallings, Tommy Smith, Jerry Wright, Bob Rowland, Greg Frazier, Harry Bowen, Jerry Allen and Eddie Deese.
