The funeral service of Jesse Warren Barry of Leesburg, formerly of Ashburn and Albany, who died November 27, 2005 at Lee County Health Care, will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Dean will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A native of Warwick, GA, Mr. Barry was born to Joseph Augustus Barry and Nannie Mae Smith Barry. He had lived in Albany for forty eight years before moving to Ashburn in 1999. Mr. Barry was a master carpenter, a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Ashburn and was a former member of Southside Baptist Church in Albany. He was also a member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2785.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Peggy and Jim Black of Ashburn and Patsy and Leon Hartley of Lee County, four grandchildren, Sheri Smith and Jamie Black, both of Ashburn and Lee Hartley and Perry Hartley, both of Lee County and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Barry was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Calvin Hartley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.

The graveside funeral service of Alto Broadaway, 83, of 1301 McKenzie Road, who died Wednesday at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery, Decatur Co., GA. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.
A native of Decatur Co., GA., Mr. Broadaway has resided in Albany for the past four years moving here from Donalsonville. He was retired from both aircraft mechanic industry and petroleum maintenance industry. He was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta palmer Broadaway, Albany, a son, Jimmie B. Broadaway, Sr.and his wife Utoka of Albany, a daughter, Dorothy Broadaway Bass and her husband Bill of Leesburg, a brother, Earl Broadway, Tifton, a sister, Eugenia Crosby, Albany, six grandchildren, Steven Craig Bass, James Roger Bass, Gregory Delaun Davis, Angelia Faye Liberto, Jimmie B. Broadaway, Jr. and Kevin Ferrell Davis and eleven great-grandchildren.

The graveside service of Allene Spurlin, 81, of 1721 Beattie Road, Albany, who died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Edd Spurlock will officiate.
A native of Columbus County, NC, Mrs. Spurlin had resided in Albany since 1965 moving from Charlotte, NC. She was a homemaker and community volunteer, working with HCA Palmyra Hospital and Central Baptist Church. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, the Crusades Sunday School Class and the Dogwood Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. (Ole Dad) Spurlin.
Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Spurlin, Allen Spurlin and his wife, Billie, a daughter, Jo Spurlin Granberry, three grandsons, Michael Spurlin, Andrew Spurlin and Harrison Spurlin all of Albany, a granddaughter, Amelia Granberry of Tallahassee, FL and a sister, Ruby Shepperd of Whiteville, NC.
The family residence will be at 3207 Trowbridge Drive, Albany.
The funeral service of Jimmy Lee Hall, 61 , of 108 Jackson Drive, Leesburg, Ga., who died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Phoebe Putney Hospital, will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. John Tarrer will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Ware County, GA., Mr. Hall had resided in Colquitt County for most of his life, graduating from Moultrie Senior High. He had resided in Lee County since 1973 moving from Albany. He was employed with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as a generator technician and formerly was employed with The Carlton Company for thirty-five years. Mr. Hall was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church where he was a R.A.’s leader.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Norman Hall of Leesburg, a daughter and her husband, Debbie and David Dill of Albany, three brothers, Jake Hall of Albany, Gene Hall of Orlando, FL and Jerry Hall of Moultrie, a sister, Bernice Hudson of Jacksonville, FL, and a grandson, Joshua Dill of Albany.

The funeral service of Sarah Onafae Furney, 73, of 115 White Horse Drive, Leesburg, who died Tuesday at her residence, will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Revs. Bobby Paul and Larry Patton will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Berlin, GA, Mrs. Furney was born to Vester D. Liles and Mrytle Walden Liles. She was a 1949 graduate of Moultrie High School and moved to the Albany area in 1970 from Barwick, GA. She was a homemaker, a member of the Barwick Baptist Church and was the widow of Coy Furney.
She asked that she be remembered with loving memories.
Survivors include three sons, Ricky Furney and his wife Patti, of Lee County, Mike Furney of Panama City Beach, FL. and Robin Furney and his wife, Sandy, of Ft. Myers, FL, a daughter and her husband, Karla and Rick Teska of Panama City, FL, a sister, Jacquelin Roberts of Berlin, GA, seven grandchildren, Clint Furney, Heather Furney, Brandon Furney, Nikki Teska, Chris Furney, Chad Furney and Justin Furney and one granddog, Zowie.

A native of Early County, Ga., Mr. Evans had resided in Albany for the past forty years, moving here from Bainbridge. He was the owner of Evans Auto Service, which he and his wife had operated since 1972. Mr. Evans was a member of The Doerun Church of God where he taught The Senior Adults Sunday School Class and was the Director of Music. He was the founder and operator of The Doerun Gospel Jubilee.
Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Shirley Evans, two daughters, Cheryl Ritter and her husband, Steve, and Betty Hopper, all of Albany, a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Patricia Evans of Salem, Indiana, a brother and his wife, Buddy and Martha Evans of Pensacola, Fl., eight grandchildren and eight great-granchildren.

A native of Ft. Valley, GA., Mr. Hardison had resided in Lee Co. since 1953 moving from Ellaville, GA. He was the retired Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director of Lee Co., GA. He was a army veteran and member of Kinchafoonee Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Odom Hardison, Leesburg, GA., three sons, Charles Terry Hardison, Macon, GA., Ted Stephen Hardison, Atlanta, GA., Richard C. Hyde, Leesburg, GA., two daughters, Vickie Lynn Gilliam, Douglasville, GA. and Teresa Anne Nealey, Leesburg, GA., a sister, Mary Frances Hamby. Lenoir, NC., twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Wilkerson had resided in Leesburg since 1988, moving from Albany. He was retired automotive mechanic, a WWII Army Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Smith Wilkerson.
Survivors include three sons, Roy Gene Smith of Valdosta, Ga., Tommy Wilkerson of Leesburg, Ga. and James Wilkerson of Albany, Ga., two daughters, Hazel Stroud of Lee County and Ruth Reynolds of Roberta, Ga.. A sister, Leona Knowles Of Willacoochee, Ga. , 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

A native of Ashford, AL, Mr. Stephens had resided in Albany for the past 50 years. He was a retired farmer and member of Union Springs Baptist Church.

Ridley of Albany, Gail Peterman and her husband, Ben of Albany, Jane Astolos and her husband, Gary of Albany, a son Horace Stephens, Jr. and his wife, Reba of Mitchell County, nine grandchildren, Lisa Boyd, Mike Earnest, Angela Sauls, Marc Earnest, Sandy Dawson, Wendy McConnell, Scott Pettis, Marlena Stephens and Amanda Stephens, and eighteen great-grandchildren.

A native of Mulberry, Fl., Mrs. Wilkerson had resided in Albany most of her life before moving to Quincy. She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School in Tampa FL. in 1939, she was the former co-owner of Christian Book Supply and Gift Company of Albany for fifteen years, lunchroom manager for the Dougherty County School System for five years, Sunday School teacher of three to four year olds for eighteen years along with a lot of other voulunteer work at the First Baptist Church of Albany where she was a member for fifty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank W Binkey and Sudie B. Binkey and her husband, Curtis Edward Wilkerson. She was the World’s Greatest Mom.
Survivors include two sons, Steven E. Wilkerson and Gregory A. Wilkerson both of Quincy, FL., and four grandchildren, Steven Curtis Wilkerson, Tampa, FL., Justin Edward Wilkerson, Joseph Clayton Wilkerson and Rachel Claire Wilkerson all of Quincy, FL.
The memorial service for Gertrude Mikilitus, 90, of 214 Main Street, Leesburg, who died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Phoebe Putney Hospital, will be conducted Friday, April 2, 2004, at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Latrell will officiate.
A native of Newark, NJ, Ms. Mikilitus had resided in Albany for the past fifteen years moving here from Kearny, NJ. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. Ms. Mikilitus was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Joseph Mikilitus.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Richard and Judith Mikilitus of Stillwater, PA and Joseph and Frances Mikilitus of Albany, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
