LAKELAND - Christine Moore Tomlinson, 72, of Lakeland, GA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 8, 2002, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was born in Lanier County, GA, to the late Robert and Codie Moore. She lived most of her adult life in the Albany/Sylvester area, returning in 1999, to Lanier County where she was raised.
She loved her community and became actively involved upon her return. She was a founding member of the Lanier County Chamber of Commerce, serving as Treasurer, Chairman of Ambassadors Committee, and a member of Economic Development Committee, a member of Behavioral Health Service Regional Board, and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She was former county commissioner of Worth County. She retired from Civil Service/ Albany/Marine Corp Logistics Base. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris Avery Tomlinson; sister-in-law, Betty Moore; two nieces, Pam Bradford and Rhonda Jane Moore.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harris Robert and Barbara Tomlinson of Lilburn; granddaughter, Erin Tomlinson of Lilburn; grandson, Matt Tomlinson of Lilburn; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil Moore and Bob and Letha Moore, all of Lakeland, Edward and Jean Moore of Chula, and Raymond and Wendy Moore of Lakeland; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Good Hope Baptist Church with burial following in Good Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. today.

ALBANY - The funeral service of Joseph (Joe) Richard Wade, 49, of Leesburg, who died Tuesday, October 8, 2002, will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Leesburg United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ashley Randall and the Rev. Bobby Brooks will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.
Mr. Wade grew up in Folkston, GA, where he was a graduate of Charlton High School. Mr. Wade received a criminal justice degree from Georgia Southern College (now University) where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
Mr. Wade was previously employed with Phillip Morris for twenty one years before his early retirement. He was presently co-owner of Forest Site Prep Company of Union Springs, AL, and Ideal Marina in Steinhatchee, FL. He was also on the board of N.G. Wade Investment Company in Jacksonville, FL.
Besides his family, Joe's greatest passions in life were the outdoors, watching his dogs work and hunting the elusive Bob White Quail.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Harville Wade of Leesburg, GA; a son, Joseph Richard Wade Jr. and a daughter, Mary Kristin Wade, both who attend Valdosta State University; his father, N.G. Wade III of Folkston, GA; three brothers, Neill Wade IV of Tallahassee, FL, Walter Wade of Christiansburg, VA, and Tony Wade of Folkston, GA; a sister, Mia Wade of Folkston and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Sikes Wade.

BUENA VISTA - Jewel E. Watkins, 61, of Mauk died Monday, October 7, 2002, at her residence.

Mrs. Watkins was born December 22, 1940, in Sumter County. She is the daughter of Julia Jordan Ethridge and the late Ottis Ethridge. Mrs. Watkins had lived in Marion for the last five years and was retired from Miller Brewery in Albany. She was also a Baptist.
Survivors include her mother, Julia Jordan Ethridge of Ellenwood; husband, Jack B. Watkins Jr. of Mauk; two sons, Gary Watkins of Mauk and Bobby Watkins of Albany; a daughter, Cathy Barker of Sylvester; brothers, Gene Ethridge of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Richard Ethridge of Ellenwood; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jackie Watkins.

OCILLA - Gladys Taylor Dover, 91, of Mystic, died Tuesday, October 8, 2002, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Mystic Baptist Church in Mystic with interment in Mystic Cemetery. The Rev. Ike Thomas, the Rev. Randy Daniell, and The Rev. Jerry Willson will officiate. The Eulogy will be delivered by Kim Bridges for the grandchildren.
A native of Irwin County, Mrs. Dover was born January 14, 1911. Her parents were the late Elizabeth (Bass) Taylor and James Telly Taylor. Mrs. Dover lived in the community most of her life. She was a homemaker, a farmer, an airplane mechanic at Robins Air Force Base during World War II and a former employee of Boney-Allen Shoe Factory in Buford, GA. Mrs. Dover was a member of Mystic Baptist Church. She was the widow of Clifford C. Dover and was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorene Dover, and brothers and sisters, Add, Clay, Ernest, Wilmer, Council, Morris, Joseph Taylor, Pearl Cox and Susan Spell.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Lena and Ralph Sims of Ocilla, Elizabeth Harbuck of Macon, Wynell and Russell Hickey of Mystic, Dean and Cotton Davis of Pinetta Community, and Mattie and the Rev. Jerry Wilson of Lands Crossing Community; 38 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren.
