SYLVESTER - Robert H. (Bob) Foerster, 80, of 321 Shiver Road, Sylvester, died Sunday, October 13, 2002, at Oconee Regional Hospital in Milledgeville.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Baptist Church with interment in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Simmons will officiate.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Foerster had lived in Worth County since 1958. He was retired from the United States Postal Service after 16 years. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Barfield Foerster of Sylvester; two sons, Eugene A. and (Doris) Foerster of Watley and Kyle and (Christie) Foerster of Sylvester; daughter, Linda and (Mack) Collins of Sylvester; two brothers, John Foerster and Frankie Foerster, both of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Berniece Bey of Canton, Ohio, and June Wollerman of Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Theresa Harsh Foerster.

Thelma French
SHERMAN, Texas - Thelma S. McCarty French, previously of Camilla, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2002, in Sherman, Texas, where she had resided for three years. A native of Mitchell County, she was born the daughter of Jesse C. and Emma Cook Shiver on August 4, 1918.
Thelma is remembered by loved ones and friends for her devotion to her duties as a licensed nurse, caring for the sick in various hospitals in south Georgia and north Florida from 1968 until she retired in 1999. She last worked at Parkway Nursing Home in Pelham, Georgia.
Thelma had two careers, the first in retail department stores in Camilla and the second in the nursing field. At the age of 50, when many people are thinking about retirement, Thelma realized her lifelong goal to become a nurse by going back to school in Valdosta to complete her secondary education eventually graduating from Valdosta Vocational School a LPN.
Her husbands Thomas E. McCarty (1964) and Max O. French (1987) preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Claudia McCarty Rhodes of Kennesaw, Ga., and Louise McCarty Barrs of Albany; one son, Thomas E. McCarty Jr. of Sherman, Texas; a sister, Bernice Shiver Tatum of Leesburg and one brother, Stanley Shiver of Quitman; much beloved were her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends are welcome at a memorial service that will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Cliff Baptist Church Saturday.

DONALSONVILLE - The Rev. Jessie L. Holley, 78, of Donalsonville passed away Sunday, October 13, 2002, at Albany Health Care in Albany, GA.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. today from First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA, with interment to be in Union Cemetery in Miller County. The Rev. Dr. Ron McCaskill and the Rev. Benny Boggus will be officiating ministers.

The Rev. Holley was born in Houston County, Ala., on July 6, 1924, to the late Angust Lee and Ollie Mae Hudson Holley. He married the former Robbie Adams on November 10, 1946. The Rev. Holley was a sergeant in the U.S. Army serving during World War II and Japan. He was a retired minister and served many years as an insurance agent for Associated Doctor's Insurance Company. He was a member of the Lion's Club and a member of the American Legion Post 157 and First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, GA.
The Rev. Holley leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 55 years, Robbie Adams Holley of Donalsonville, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Joy H. Swanner and Jim of Donalsonville, GA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie Holley and Tonya of Blakely, GA, and Gerald Holley and Shirley of Florence, Alabama; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers will be Justin Holley, Bruce Adams, Joe Burke, Jack Shamblin, Ronnie Skipper and Henry Singletary. Members of the Lion's Club, American Legion Post 157 and the Whit Aiken Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

MOULTRIE - Oris Willett Taylor, 90, of Magnolia Manor Nursing Home, Americus, died there Monday, October 14, 2002.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Chapel in Moultrie with interment in Sardis Cemetery.
A native of Worth County, Mr. Taylor was retired from Swift Packing Company as a truck driver. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Moultrie and was a charter member of Lena Tyson Sunday School Class. He was also a member of Berlin Lodge. He was a free and accepted Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee McCardle Taylor of Americus; son, O.W. "Buddy" Taylor Jr. of Panama City, Fla.; daughters, Mary Anne Horn of Berlin and Brenda Littleton of Albany; sisters, Florice T. Smith of Albany and Virginia T. Pinson of Valdosta; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Melton and Penelope Matthews Taylor.

ALBANY - Robert Charles Bass, 78, of Cartersville, GA, died Tuesday morning October 15, 2002, at Starcrest of Cartersville Nursing Home.
The funeral service will be Thursday, 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern with interment at Mars Hill Cemetery in Edison, GA.
A native of Cordele, GA, Mr. Bass was raised in Albany. After retiring from the Navy, he moved back to Albany for several years before moving to Smyrna, GA, and then to Cartersville, GA.
Mr. Bass had retired from the Navy in 1971 after thirty years of service and then he retired from Lockhead after ten years of service where he was an electrician.
Survivors include two sons, Mitchell Bass and Mark Bass, both of Kennesaw, GA; two grandchildren, Robert and Rebecca Bass of Kennesaw, GA; a brother, Haywood Bass of Albany; two sisters, Ruby Bass Matson Brame of Newnan, GA, and Edna Bass Johns Adams of Albany. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Carrie Bass.
