BYRON, GA - Chester Shelby Gorman, 82, of Byron, formerly of Macon, died Saturday, October 19, 2002 at his residence.
Mr. Gorman was born in Vilonia, AR, on September 26, 1920. He lived there until moving to Macon in 1947. He was the son of John S. and Nora K. Gorman. Mr. Gorman was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Thelma Hopper Gorman. He was retired from Armstrong Cork Co.
Survivors include his second wife, Mae Barber Gorman of Byron; four children and their spouses, Janis Gorman Ball (Bruce) of Macon, Barbara Gorman Brantley (Joe) and David Gorman (Donna), all of Warner Robins, and Diann Gorman Wright (John) of Leesburg; and eight grandchildren, Keith Brantley, Teresa Davis, Tambra Singletary, Kevin Ball, Anissa Stocking, Kimberly Davis, Mandy Gorman and Dustin Gorman; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Merlene Waid of Milledgeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Born October 13, 1907 in Thomas County, Mrs. Fleming was a retired teacher. She was married to the late William James Fleming and was the daughter of the late Paul James and Lola Smith McCollum.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Courts of Greensboro, NC; and a son, William James Fleming Jr. of Brevard, NC.

Born July 14, 1919 in Bibb County, Mrs. Hay was a homemaker and a member of Milford Baptist Church. She was married to the late Almer T. Hay and was the daughter of the late Omar and Effie Brown Bailey.

Wallace and Jacque Hay of Leary; two brothers, Marvin Z. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Winfred and Ann Jones and Wilton and Judy Jones, all of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Montine and Dick Skeel of Tucker, Audrey and Harold Beard and Bonnie and Buddy Lindsey, all of Tifton; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, three children, five brothers and a sister.

DAWSON - Milton Wayne Moore died on Saturday, October 19, 2002 in Clay County, GA. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Monday) at the Dawson United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Richard Soper and James Sapp officiating.
Mr. Moore was a native of Elbert County, born July 16, 1948, son of Milton Moore and Mildred McCannon Moore. He had been a resident of the Graves Community in Terrell County for the past six months.
He had served in the U.S. Marines as a traffic controller for seven years and also served in the U.S. Army for five years. He was employed as project manager at Buc-Don in Oxford.
He is survived by his wife, Mavis Lark Moore of Dawson; a son, Robert Moore of Moody, AL; a daughter, Anita Moore Wooden of Milledgeville; his parents, Milton and Mildred Moore of Milledgeville; mother-in-law, Jean Weston Lark of Dawson; a brother, Denny Moore of Smyrna; and five grandchildren, Kevin and Haley Meeks and Taylor Wooden, all of Milledgeville, Alexis and Kayla Moore of Moody, AL.

Mr. Racener was a native of St. Louis, Mo., and had lived in Albany since 1976. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and the U.S. Air Force. He was a former P.O.W. and was retired from Civil Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover C. and Grace Petty Racener and his wife, Ruth E. Wade Racener.

Hurst, Vivian P. Williford, and Grace P. Youmans, and three brothers, James Wiley Palmer Sr., W.O. (Buster) Palmer, and Joseph Howard Palmer Sr. She retired after 35 years as head bookkeeper for Bank of Camilla. She served in the nursery at First Baptist Church of Camilla for 16 years; was a member of Edgar T. Davis Jr. Sunday School Class, Golden Key Club, Rural Electric Leaders of Mitchell EMC, and was a member of Farm Bureau's Women's Committee. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Camilla.
Survivors include her husband, James O. "Jimmy" Clark of Camilla; daughter, Becky Clark of Camilla; sister, Florence Baker of Sale City; two brothers, W.D. Palmer Jr. and Frank Palmer, both of Camilla; and a number of nieces and nephews.

CAMILLA - James Lamar (K.O.) Hudgins, 78, of Patmos Community, died Saturday, October 12, 2002, at his residence.

Born August 23, 1924, in Baker County, Mr. Hudgins was a member of the Milford Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was Sunday School Superintendent for 12 years. He was a retired diesel mechanic and US Navy veteran who served on a P.T. boat in World War II. Mr. Hudgins was the son of the late Joel Olen and Corrie Rizer Hudgins.

AMERICUS - Marion C. Wall, 94, a well-known Americus resident of 2003 Rose Avenue, died late Friday evening, October 11, 2002, at Sumter Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Lee Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brooks Partain and Dr. James Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
A native of Schley County, Mr. Wall was born September 12, 1908, the son of the late John Robert Wall and Minnie Caskey Wall. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ermine Stevens Wall. He was a member of the Lee Street United Methodist Church and served as chairman of the board, and was Sunday School superintendent for 13 years.
Mr. Wall was active in civic affairs in Americus. He was a former city councilman, former member of the Civitan Club, a member of M.B. Council Lodge No. 95, Free and Accepted Masons, and a member of Demolay Commandery No. 5. He was a member of the Saliba-McDaniel Council No. 34, and was a Shriner.
He was a co-owner of Sumter Milling Company, and later of McCleskey Mills, serving in the capacity of president and general manager for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary P. Wall of Americus; a daughter and son-in-law, Marion and M.M. "Puzz" James of Americus; a son and daughter-in-law, John Robert "Bob" Wall and Norma Wall of Americus; a stepson and step daughter-in-law, Gary W.
