ALBANY - James Robert O'Hare Sr., 85, of Albany, died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at his residence.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with interment in Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate.
A native of Durham, NC, Mr. O'Hare served six years in the US Navy, 14 years in the US Air Force and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict, retiring at Turner Air Force Base. He worked with civil service and retired after 16 years of employment. He was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church for over 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the local YMCA.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Renzo O'Hare of Albany; two sons, James Robert O'Hare Jr. and wife Betty of Albany and Michael Anthony O'Hare of Leesburg; two daughters, Barbara O'Hare White and husband Roger of Albany, and Patricia O'Hare Taylor and husband Dwight of Gardendale, AL; seven grandchildren, Jamie Holland, David O'Hare, Derrek White, Kelly Taylor Prang, Todd White, Holly White, Kendall Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Prang and Abigal Prang; brother, Leo O'Hare of Burlington, NC.

ALBANY - Mattie Lee Williams-Hicks, 83, of 633 Zackery Drive died Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Third Kiokee Baptist Church in Albany with interment in Union Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Levi Breedlove will officiate.
A native of Terrell County, Mrs. Williams-Hicks was a homemaker. She attended Terrell County public schools. She was a member of Third Kiokee Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Nurses Aid Board and the Deaconess Board.
Survivors include her husband, J.W. Hicks of Albany; three daughters, Mattie Hicks-Latimer and Ruthie Hicks-Tucker, both of Albany, and Mary Hicks-Thompson of Milwaukee, Wisc.; four sons, John W. Hicks Jr., Cleveland Hicks, Silas J. Hicks and Paul T. Hicks, all of Albany; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. A devoted cousin, Lillian Hannah of Miami, Fla.
The remains will lie-in-state at the church Saturday from noon until the funeral hour.

ALBANY - Eddie Lee Williams-Mayo, 94, of 1638 Sunny Lane died Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Morgan with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Calvin Rollins, pastor and the Rev. Donald Walker officiating.
A native of Calhoun County, Mrs. Williams-Mayo was a homemaker. She attended Calhoun County public schools. She was a member of the Golden Key Club and attended Slater King Adult Day Health Center. She was also a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Morgan.
Survivors include two sisters, Maggie Simmons and Pearlie Mae Williams, both of Albany; three grandchildren, Juanita Brown, Eddie Brown and Marjorie Brown, all of Albany; and six great-grandchildren.
The remains of Mrs. Williams-Mayo will lie-in-state at the church Saturday from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour.

FT. GAINES - Faye Martin Bennett, 72, of Ft. Gaines died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at her residence.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church near Ft. Gaines. The Rev. Randy Stokes and the Rev. Chris Shoemaker will officiate. Interment will be in New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines.
Mrs. Bennett was born August 14, 1930, in Clay County, daughter of the late Otis Lee Martin and Willie Veda Fendley Martin. She was a former resident of Quitman County and had lived in Ft. Gaines for two years. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Union United Methodist Church near Morris, and attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Claude M. Bennett of Ft. Gaines; three sons, Butch Bennett of Valdosta, Michael Bennett of Hilton, and Scott Bennett of Ft. Gaines; two daughters, Cherry B. Wilbourn of Hilton and Susan B. Gandy of Columbia, AL; three brothers, Justin Martin and Foy Martin of Ft. Gaines and Billy Martin of Abbeville, AL; two sisters, Jimmie M. Johnson of Warner Robins and Brenda Culp of Abbeville, AL; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Alonza Carter Jr.
UNADILLA - Funeral services for Alonza Carter Jr. of Vienna will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church in Vienna. The burial will be in Vienna City Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Bobby G. West will officiate.
Mr. Carter, 55, died Thursday, October 17, 2002, in a local nursing home. He was the son of the late Alonza Carter Sr. and Bertha Carter. He attended Dooly County public schools.
Survivors include a sister, Hattie (Charlie) Hayes of Vienna; two brothers, Henry Carter and Ulysses Carter Sr., both of Byromville; one aunt, Mary English of Jacksonville, Fla.; 14 nieces and nephews including, Mary Ann Lango of Cordele; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law.
The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

COLQUITT - Thomas Helton "Tom" Faircloth II, 69, of Donalsonville, died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Donalsonville Church of Christ with interment in Colquitt City Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Bell will officiate.

A native of Seminole County, Mr. Faircloth was born May 21, 1933. He was a pharmacist and a member of Donalsonville Church of Christ. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in pharmacy.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Faircloth of Donalsonville; three sons, Steve Parker and daughter-in-law Martha of Donalsonville, Tommy Faircloth and daughter-in-law Cindy Faircloth of Dixon, TN, and Al Faircloth and daughter-in-law Paula of Donalsonville; a daughter, Cindy Cole and son-in-law Cliff Cole of Atlanta; brother, Grady Faircloth of Columbia, SC; sister, Gwen Adams of Donalsonville; mother, Annie Faircloth of Donalsonville; 10 grand-children; and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Faircloth was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Helton Faircloth, and a daughter, Gail Alday.

Miss Fluellen, 63, died Friday, October 18, 2002, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late George Fluellen, a member of Brown Chapel Baptist Church. She attended Dooly County public schools and worked as a housekeeper.
Survivors include a son, Leon Fluellen of Unadilla; her mother, Emma M. Fluellen of Unadilla; two brothers, Willie B. (Mattie Mae) Fluellen of Orlando, Fla., and Willie J. (Mary Nell) Fluellen of Unadilla; three sisters, Rhaddie M. Rhodes, Connie Fluellen and Delois Fluellen, all of Unadilla; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law; a devoted friend, Eddie Lee Felder of Unadilla.

DAWSON - Thomas "Earl" Jones Jr., died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at Palmyra Medical Centers in Albany. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was a native of Burkeville, Virginia, born May 5, 1932, daughter of the late Thomas Earl Jones Sr. and Addie Shinault Jones. He had lived in Terrell County for the past forty-seven years. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Korea 1952 to 1954.
He previously owned and operated the Jones Grain Company for Sasser and worked for a number of years Civil Service at the U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. He served two terms as mayor the City of Sasser.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Givins Jones of Dawson; a daughter, Cyndi J. West of Lakeland, Fla.; a son, Tommy Earl Jones III of Sasser; three sisters, Ruby Chambers and Pearl Roop, both of Richmond, Va., and Mabel Hall of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandchildren, Casey Jones of Sasser and Layne Champion of Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
Visitation will be held today from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
