ALBANY - Mattie Lee Williams-Hicks, 83, of 633 Zackery Drive died Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today at Third Kiokee Baptist Church in Albany with interment in Union Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Levi Breedlove will officiate.
A native of Terrell County, Mrs. Williams-Hicks was a homemaker. She attended Terrell County public schools. She was a member of Third Kiokee Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Nurses Aid Board and the Deaconess Board.
Survivors include her husband, J.W. Hicks of Albany; three daughters, Mattie Hicks-Latimer and Ruthie Hicks-Tucker, both of Albany, and Mary Hicks-Thompson of Milwaukee, Wisc.; four sons, John W. Hicks Jr., Cleveland Hicks, Silas J. Hicks and Paul T. Hicks, all of Albany; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. A devoted cousin, Lillian Hannah of Miami, Fla.
The remains will lie-in-state at the church from noon until the funeral hour.

A native of Fitzgerald, Mrs. Hollingsworth had lived in Ben Hill and Wilcox counties all of her life. She was a homemaker and a former employee of S.W.S. Garment Company, Shaw Industries and Colony City Dental Lab. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Abbeville.
Survivors include her husband, James Hollingsworth of Abbeville; parents, Bubba and Sis Gordon of Fitzgerald; daughters, Terri Terrell of Fitzgerald and Jami Martin of Abbeville; sons, Robert Hollingsworth of Pitts and Jason Hollingsworth of Abbeville; five grandchildren.

Earl Jones Jr.
DAWSON - Thomas "Earl" Jones Jr., died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at Palmyra Medical Centers in Albany. The funeral service will be held today at 10 a.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was a native of Burkeville, Virginia, born May 5, 1932, son of the late Thomas Earl Jones Sr. and Addie Shinault Jones. He had lived in Terrell County for the past forty-seven years. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Korea 1952 to 1954.
He previously owned and operated the Jones Grain Company of Sasser and worked for a number of years Civil Service at the U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. He served two terms as mayor for the City of Sasser.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Givins Jones of Dawson; a daughter, Cyndi J. West of Lakeland, Fla.; a son, Tommy Earl Jones III of Sasser; three sisters, Ruby Chambers and Pearl Roop, both of Richmond, Va., and Mabel Hall of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandchildren, Casey Jones of Sasser and Layne Champion of Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

A native of Miller County, Mrs. Llewellyn was born May 20, 1913. She was a retired Army Nurse Captain and was a member of Eastern Star. She was a member of Colquitt First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Max Mims of Colquitt and Lonnie Mims of Minden, NV; sister, Louise Powell of Colquitt; and several nieces and nephews.

COLQUITT - Hollis Roberts, 72, of Colquitt died Friday, October 25, 2002, at Miller County Hospital.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Olive Holiness Church with interment in Gordon Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Baker and the Rev. Tim Mock will officiate.
A native of Miller County, Mr. Roberts was a retired factory supervisor. He was a member of Mt. Olive Holiness Church where he served as secretary and treasurer for 27 years. He was also a member of the Gerald Grow Post 165 American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Roberts of Colquitt; one son, Ken and daughter-in-law, Shawn Roberts of Colquitt; two brothers, Carrol Roberts of Albany and Edward Roberts of Bowling Green, Kentucky; three sisters, Gloria Jean Lovering of Blakely, Alice Rachel of Albany and Ann Carlton of Plano, Texas; mother, Bronnie Roberts of Blakely; two grandchildren, Whitney Roberts of Colquitt and Kendall and Bobby Donley of Atlanta.

Suzanne M. Shingler Fowler
DONALSONVILLE - Suzanne M. Shingler Fowler, 54, of Albany passed away Thursday, October 24, 2002 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held today (Sunday) at 2 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville, with interment in the Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, with the Revs. Henry Irwin and Jerry Lott.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Dougherty County, GA, on May 5, 1948 to the late Morrison P. and Marveen Mizelle Hall Shingler. She was a photographer for the Albany Herald for a number of years. She represented the United Press in this area and won several photography awards from the United Press. She raised exotic animals and Kiko goats. She was the founder and first President of the Georgia Ostrich Association, as well as being very active in the Kiko Goat Association.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Fowler of Albany; two brothers, William M. (Bill) Shingler Sr. and Dell of Donalsonville, and Morrison P. Shingler Jr. and Angie of Perry, FL; a sister, Caroline Kicklighter and Charlie of Macon; two special nephews, Billy and Jim Shingler of Donalsonville; four stepsons, Kevin Fowler of Atlanta, Scott Fowler and Melisa of Kingsport, TN, David Fowler and Ruth of Dunwoody and Todd Fowler and Delia of Tallahassee, FL; and a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Fowler of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers will be: Graham Culliford, David Fowler, Todd Fowler, John Thompson, Billy Shingler and Jim Shingler.

A native of Worth County, Mr. Curry was born January 24, 1966. He was a mobile home assembler for Craftmade Homes in Sylvester and was educated in the Worth County public school system.
