A native of Colquitt, GA, he had lived in Albany most of his life and worked in janitorial service.
Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. today at Hall & Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Akins and the Rev. Bill Suggs officiating.
Survivors include his parents, Andy and Verna "Marie" Hall of Albany, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Rich Gray of Tallahassee, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Rena and Clarke Ford of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Don Maples and John Maples, both of Albany, GA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his parents at 103 Morningside Drive in Albany.

BAINBRIDGE - Valda Poitevint Allen, 102, of Vada Community, Vada, GA, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002, in Bainbridge.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Vada with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Conrad Salter will officiate.
The great-nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
Mrs. Allen was born on March 31, 1900, in Mitchell County. She married Robert L. Allen and was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Mr. Conner was a retired employee of the state of Georgia, Department of Transportation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vardell Taliaferro Conner.

AMERICUS - Elizabeth Dew, 86, of 2001 S. Lee Street, Americus, died Monday, October 28, 2002, at Magnolia Manor Retirement Center. A lifetime native of Sumter County, born November 26, 1915, daughter of the late Joseph Curry Pouncey and Etta Castleberry Pouncey, she was a member of Women of the Moose, the Manhattan Retirees Club and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Damon Fountain and the Rev. Mark Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

AMERICUS - Senette Akridge Turner, 83, of 520 Claude Harvey Rd., Plains, died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, in Schwarzbach, Germany.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2002, from the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services with the Rev. Tommy McConnell officiating. Interment will follow at Andersonville National Historic Site Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. Sunday, November 3, at Aldridge Funeral Services.
Mrs. Turner was born November 27, 1918, in Mitchell County, daughter of the late Daniel Hansford Akridge and the late Minnie Faircloth Akridge. Mrs. Turner was a retired secretary with Amoco Oil Company formerly of Americus. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Minor Turner, of Plains; a daughter, Ginger Dominik of Schwarzbach, Germany; a sister, Prudence Musgrove of Bainbridge; two brothers, Haldon Akridge of Meigs and H.K. Akridge of Phoenix, Ariz. Numbers of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
