Paul Ray Herring
DONALSONVILLE - Paul Ray Herring, 67, of Cuthbert, GA, formerly of Donalsonville, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2002, in Donalsonville Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at Oakview Church of God with interment in Oakview Cemetery with the Rev. Mylan Brookins and the Rev. Stan Long officiating. Visitation will be 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. today at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mr. Herring was born in Seminole County September 4, 1935, to the late Harmon S. and Lena Long Herring. He was a service station attention and worked for Welch's in Albany, GA. He was married to the late Virginia Beard Herring. He was a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Air Force and a member of Oakview Church of God.
He is survived by two brothers, Jack Herring (Virginia) of Donalsonville and W.F. Herring (Mildred) of Columbus, GA; three sisters, Jean H. Vick of Pavo, GA, Joyce H. Roberts of Tyler, TX, and Merle H. Mendheim of Edgewater, FL. He was preceded in death by four brothers, G.L. Herring, Durwood Herring, Melvin Herring, and Ervin Herring, and one sister, Jewel H. Ford.
Pallbearers will be Devaughn Vick, Warren Herring, Anthony Brookins, Harold Herring, Davey Herring, and Mark Herring.

CAMILLA - Doyle L. Lentz, 66, of Baconton, died Sunday, November 3, 2002, at Albany Healthcare.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Enon Church Cemetery.
Born November 17, 1935, in Elco, Ill., Mr. Lentz was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a fireman for the city of Albany and retired as a captain after 23 years of service. Following his retirement, he served as a Georgia State Fire Marshall for eight years.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Lentz, of Baconton; two sons, Loren Lentz of Bronwood and Kyle Lentz of Leesburg; a stepdaughter, Teresa Unruh of Albany; two sisters, Maureen Thompson of Collinsville, Ill., and Ludene Thompson of Belleville, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 p.m.-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ALBANY - Elizabeth Newsome Cates, 87, of Albany died at her residence Tuesday, November 5, 2002.
Her memorial service will be today 2 p.m. at Walden Chapel of First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Donald M. Kea and the Rev. Rodney Stamey will officiate. Her remains were cremated and will be buried at Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Lee County, she had lived in Albany for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cates was the owner of ABC Furniture Co. and she was a master bridge player. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Boyd Cates; her father and mother, Lawrence Newsome and Lenora King Newsome Findley; and her stepfather, John Cleveland Findley.
She is survived by her godson, J.P. "Jimmy" Watkins Jr. and his wife, Raines of Albany; their children, Porter and Leslie Watkins and Scott and Pamela Watkins, all of Atlanta; a cousin, Mrs. Thomas McKay of Los Angeles, CA; special friends, Sharon and Richard King of Albany, Brian Hornek of Albany.

ALBANY - Cora Bell Hall-Williams, 79, of 617-A Cotton Avenue died Thursday, October 31, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jordan Grove Baptist Church in Lee County with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dr. R.O. Calhoun will officiate.
A native of Lee County, Mrs. Hall-Williams was a retired school crossing guard for the Dougherty County Board of Education. She attended Lee County public schools and was a member of Jordan Grove Baptist Church. She was also a member of Adah Masten Chapter #094 O.E.S.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Ann Fletcher-Richardson of Albany; five daughters, Inez Walker and Sandra Williams, both of Albany, Hattie Mae Banks, Classie Mack and Gail Williams, all of Atlanta; two sons, Morris Williams of Albany and Lewis Forrester of Charleston, S.C.; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The remains of Mrs. Hall-Williams will lie-in-state at the church Thursday from noon until the funeral hour.

ALBANY - Theo Pettie Isele, 91, of Albany died Monday, November 4, 2002.
The funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday at Calvary Cemetery in Memphis, TN. Dr. Dale Palmer will officiate.
A native of Piney Woods, MS, Mrs. Isele lived in Memphis for many years moving to Albany in 1994. She was a member of Belvue Baptist Church and the Homemakers Sunday School Class. She was a retired registered nurse working in several hospitals and private duty in Memphis. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where she received the Outstanding Nursing Award. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Frank Isele Sr. in 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Frank Isele, MD and his wife, Fay of Albany, CDR Charles P. Isele, USN retired and his wife Jan of Chico, CA, and Memphis; four grandchildren, Tony Isele and his wife, Gayla, Pattie Ridgeway and her husband, Michael, Jenni Stephenson and her husband, Robert, Emily Isele and six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

SYLVESTER - Reba Tidwell Lawrence, 72, of 469 Northwood Dr., Poulan, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Banks Funeral Chapel with interment in Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Martin and Richard Robbins will officiate.
A native of Donley County (Hedley), Texas, Mrs. Lawrence was born April 11, 1930 to the late James Elmon Tidwell and Margaret Mills Tidwell. She had lived in Poulan since 1981, moving from Illinois. She was a beautician and a member of Sylvester First Freewill Baptist Church. She was the widow of Clyde Lawrence who preceded her in death March 2, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Richard Gaddy of Poulan; stepmother, Elvira Tidwell of Moline, IL; five sisters, Bernice Duckworth and Grace Aultman, both of Poulan, Norma Shiver of Jamesville, NC, Glenda Robbins of Mount Airy, NC, and Betty Nelms of Poulan; a brother, Bill Tidwell of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Kristofer Spears, Clint Spears and Cory Spears; a step grandson, Ty Gaddy; three great-grandchildren, Lacey Spears, Kristofer Spears Jr., Hannah Spears and their playmate, Lakin Parejko.

ALBANY - Edward Paul Lord Sr., 71, of 3812 Sylvester Rd., Albany, died Sunday, November 3, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Kimbrell-Stern with entombment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Andes, NY, Mr. Lord had lived in Albany since 1964. He was a self-employed construction contractor for many years and retired civil service from Marine Corp Logistics Base Materiel Division. Mr. Lord served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he received several medals. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose where he received a Fellowship Degree and served as Governor. He was also a member of the Moose Golf League and the Senior Golf Association. Mr. Lord was a member of First Baptist Church of Acree.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Jean Lokey Lord, of Albany; three daughters, Cindy Albert, her husband Mark, of Germantown, MD, Patti Cromer, her husband David, of Sylvester, Kym Lord of Garner, NC; one son, Ed Lord Jr., his wife Karen, of Bloomington, MN; 14 grandchildren, Melissa, Alicia, Caleb, Moriah, Chesley, Isaiah, Aaron, Brendan and Lillian Cromer, Brandy and Brittany Lord, and Amanda, Becky and Billy Mudge; one brother, Charles Robert Lord of Cobleskill, NY. Mr. Lord was preceded in death by his parents, James and Flossie Lord, and two brothers, Gilbert and Larry Lord.

MSgt. Yawn, 64, was born March 9, 1938, in Albany, GA, the son of the late Lewis Joe and Bettie Lee Bullington Yawn. He was a career military NCO, retiring after 22 1/2 years of service to his country in the United States Air Force having served as a civil engineer in Morocco, Vietnam, Germany and numerous stateside assignments including the Charleston Air Force Base. Following his military retirement, he was a civil service construction inspector in the Charleston area for many years.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Frances McGhee Yawn of Summerville, S.C.; his sons, Jimmie Lewis Yawn Jr. of St. George, S.C., and Roger Allen Yawn of Summerville, S.C.; his daughter, Julie Ann Crouse of Charleston, S.C. He is also survived by five grandchildren, USAF Academy Cadet Danny Yawn, Bobby Yawn, James Yawn, Benjamin Crouse and Timothy Crouse. Mr. Yawn was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lee Yawn.
