TIFTON - Sherrie Lynn Selph Evans, 27, of Tifton died Monday, November 4, 2002, in Tift County.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Ty Ty with interment in Turner Church cemetery. The Rev. Danny Jones will officiate.
Adam Wilson, Kevin Robinson, Shannon Evans, Jeffrey Bales, Corey Parker and Joshua Averitt will serve as pallbearers.
A native of Tifton, Mrs. Evans was a wonderful, dedicated wife and mother of three. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. She was also a 1994 graduate of Tift County High School and a student at Moultrie Tech in the Dialysis Program. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her husband, William Scottie Evans of Ty Ty; three daughters, Jamie Leigh Selph Evans, Ashlie Ann Evans and Codie Lynn Evans, all of Ty Ty; mother and stepfather, Shirley Ann Watson Selph Averitt and Robert Averitt of Tifton; three brothers, Ritchie Allen Selph and Joshua Earl Averitt, both of Tifton, and Jeffrey Wayne Selph of Milledgeville; two sisters, Katherine Selph of Tifton and Tina Bales of Norman Park; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ann and Larry Evans of Ty Ty; maternal grandmother, Marie Watson of Ocilla; paternal grandmother, Marguerite Selph of Tifton; grandmothers-in-law, Delma Lee Evans of Ty Ty and Dorothy Collins Albright of Omega; brother-in-law, Larry Shannon Evans of Augusta; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Royce Selph.
The Evans family will be gathering at the Evans home in Ty Ty and the Averitt family will be gathering at 239 Tifton-Eldorado Road.

DONALSONVILLE - C.A. "Shag" Floyd, 90, of Donalsonville, passed away Monday, November 4, 2002, at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Donalsonville with interment in Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. Lattie Collins officiating. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Floyd was born in Dodge County on September 14, 1912, to the late John Everett and Mettie Phillips Floyd. He was preceded in death by a son, Kirk Floyd, and his wife, Janice Kirkland Floyd. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he began his career in law enforcement. Mr. Floyd was in the second graduating class for state troopers in the state of Georgia. He served the local post for many years and retired as a CPL from the Georgia State Patrol. He was also engaged in farming in Donalsonville for several years. Mr. Floyd was received as a noble shriner on June 16, 1947, in Savannah.
He is survived by two sons and their wives, Benjie and Gayle Floyd of Bainbridge, and Tommy and Melodie Floyd of Cuthbert; seven grandchildren, Carrie Floyd Knowles, Lindsey Floyd, Chase Floyd, Jon Floyd, Christa Courson, Pebe Touchton and Ben Floyd; four great grandchildren, Jessica Courson, Jared Courson, Haley Love and Kirkland Floyd; sister-in-law and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brunson of Panama City, FL.
Pallbearers will be Ben Floyd, Chase Floyd, Randy Brunson, Buddy Floyd, Pat King and Will Harris Jr.

ALBANY - Charlie W. Roberts, 74, of Albany, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Mercedes Baptist Church with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors. The Rev. Russell Anglin will officiate.
A native of Ozark, AL, Mr. Roberts had resided in Albany for over 29 years. He was a member of Mercedes Baptist Church and was an avid wood worker. He retired from the United States Air Force having served in the Vietnam War and from Coats and Clark Inc. as a machinist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clead and Ossie Mathis Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Roberts; three daughters, Sandra Roberts Barkus and husband Vic of Columbus, GA, Teresa Roberts Smith and husband Freddie of Albany, and Rita Roberts Bowers of Frederick, Maryland; three grandchildren, Lori Barkus of Columbus, GA, Charles Kent Bowers of Frederick, Maryland, and John Michael Smith of Albany; one great-grandson, Kevin Tyler Hawkins; six sisters, Jane Morris of Prescott, AZ, Jewel Word of Lakeland, TN, Jeanette Johns of Ozark, AL, Mary Craft of Plant City, FL, Anis Harrington of Cottonwood, AL; a brother, Durwood Roberts of Douglas, GA; and one special aunt, Edna Roberts of Skipperville, AL.

ALBANY - CWO 2 John Anthony Silvi, U.S.M.C. (ret.), 79, of Baconton, GA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 5, 2002.
The funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with interment in Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors. The Rev. Michael Smith and the Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate.
A native of Walpole, Mass., Mr. Silvi lived in Albany and Baconton since 1963. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Camilla. He served 28 1/2 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He also retired from the city of Albany Building Inspection Department. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Slater.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gilda Silvi of Baconton; three sons, Peter Silvi of Baconton, James Silvi of Little Rock, AR, and Anthony Silvi of Baconton; three daughters, Rosemarie Sapp of Tucker, Joanne Bryan of Albany and Mary Hickman of Cape Maine, NJ; a brother, James Silvi of Eastham, Mass.; three sisters, Mary Mintchiello of Blaluvelt, NY, Eva DiAntonio of Walpole, Mass., and Irma Weaver of Tybee Island; and 15 grandchildren.
The prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Kimbrell-Stern with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rainey Family Funeral Services with interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Cordele.
Mrs. Dorough was born on Wednesday, March 16, 1927, in Roswell, to the late Carrie Wilbanks Stokesberry and Charlie Coy Stokesberry Sr. She was a retired seamstress with BilRay Manufacturing & Uniform Company in Cordele. She was also a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Joan Harlow and Duke Harlow of Pontotoc, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Luvena D. (Dorough) Horn and Bobby Horn of Ashburn; son and daughter-in-law, Bill Dorough and Susan Dorough of Fitzgerald; son and daughter-in-law, Tim Dorough and Sue Dorough of Coolidge; sister, Wilmet Collins of Cordele; brother, Charlie Stokesberry Jr. of Rochelle. Mr. Lane died Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born April 10, 1910, in Iron City, he was the son of the late James Oscar and Alma Cross Lane. On January 6, 1980, in Thomasville he married Edna C. Lane who survives. Mr. Lane was a member of First Baptist Church.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Boatwright-Cox was a nurse for Procter & Gamble Paper Products Company in Albany. She was a 1981 graduate of Central High School in Fort Pierce, Fla., and a 1989 graduate of Albany State University where she received her B.S. degree in nursing. She was also a member of Faith Deliverance Church in Albany and Delta Sigma Theta sorority.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony Cox of Albany; three daughters, Toni J. Cox, Chelesa L. Cox and Paige N. Cox, all of Albany; one son, Anthony P. Carrion Jr. of Atlanta; three sisters, Sharon King of Hawthorne, Calif., Vanessa Baugh of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Cynthia Boatwright of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; two brothers, Eugene Boatwright and Kenneth Boatwright, both of Ft. Pierce, Fla.

ALBANY - Percy Cohen, 91, formerly of Albany, died Saturday, November 2, 2002, in Toronto, Canada.
His memorial service will be Sunday 1 P.M. at Riverside Cemetery. Rabbi Dana Kaplan will officiate.
A longtime resident of Albany, he had moved to Toronto after the death of his wife, Sallie Cohen. Mr. Cohen was a member of Temple B'Nai Israel.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Cohen and Carol May and her husband, Tom, both of Toronto, Canada; a sister, Norma Silver of Albany; grandchildren, Sarah, Aaron and Anastasia and Samantha and Donnie; a great-grandchild, Max.
