ATLANTA - Luther Jackson Thomas Jr. passed away at his home Wednesday, November 6, 2002, from Parkinson's disease. He was born in Thomasville, GA, on August 20, 1935. He graduated from Albany High School, after which he served in the United States Army. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in architecture. Mr. Thomas had his own architectural firm in Atlanta for 23 years. He was an active member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church for 37 years, where he served as a deacon.
Survivors are his wife of 39 years, Bobo Breedlove Thomas of Atlanta; daughter, Martha Bolling Thomas of Atlanta; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Thomas Fry and Matt Fry of Atlanta; granddaughter, Kayla Thomas Fry of Atlanta; his sisters and their husbands, Gwen and Gerald McCook, Connie and David Pinkston, Joye and Carl Hadarits and Debbie and Gene McLean; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frances and Terrell Bridges. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends also mourn his death. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Felicite Thomas.
We thank the Lord for his friendly spirit that will be carried on through the many hearts he touched.
A funeral service will be held at North Avenue Presbyterian Church, 607 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, at 2 p.m. Sunday with Dr. Scot Weimer and the Rev. Charles Hardwick officiating.
Visitors will be welcome prior to the service in the Eldridge Room, from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Interment will be at Leesburg Cemetery in Leesburg, GA Monday at noon with the Rev. Matthew Fry officiating.

ARLINGTON - Dorothy Julian Davis, 83, of 272 Highland Ave., Arlington, died Thursday, November 7, 2002, at IHS Nursing Home in Atlanta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Arlington Baptist Church with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Dr. Gary Hadden will officiate.
A native of Webb City, MO, Mrs. Davis was born November 24, 1918. She had lived in Arlington most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was a member of the DAR, the Arlington Garden Club, and in 1957, she was the founder of the Cub Scouts in Arlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Julian and Cleo Slatton Julian, and her husband, George Carlton Davis Jr.
Survivors include a son, Carlton Davis of Atlanta, and a daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Jeff Carter of Atlanta, and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today at the home, 272 Highland Ave., Arlington.

Born June 10, 1920 in Dougherty County, Mrs. Strong was a retired elementary school teacher. She attended public schools of Dougherty County and Bronx, NY. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Albany State University. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Foster Parent Panel, Department of Human Services, board member of Bethel Housing Complex, vice-president of Semper Fidelis Club, chairman of Semper Fidelis Nursery School Committee, and Albany Chapter of Eastern Stars.
Survivors include Sharon T. Morgan of Houston, TX; a brother, Odolph Blaylock of Albany; three grandchildren, Pastor Lorelle N. Rich and John R. Strong, both of Nashville, TN, and Jason S. Morgan of Atlanta; and two great-grandchildren, Majesty Rich and Michael Rich Jr.

MILLEDGEVILLE - Jane Bernadette Branan, 49, of Milledgeville, died Friday, November 8, 2002 at her residence.
Funeral services were held on Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will be held today (Sunday) at 2 p.m. in Gordon Cemetery in Colquitt, with Hugh Burke officiating.
Mrs. Branan was born in Colquitt, GA, and was daughter of the late N.B. Clevland and Cessie Lee Gordon Cleveland. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Branan was also a member of the American Dietetic Association. She was retired from Central State Hospital as a registered dietitian.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Branan of Milledgeville; two daughters, Lee Nichols of Covington and Crystal Branan of Milledgeville; a son, Michael Branan of Milledgeville; two brothers, Zack Cleveland and L.N. Cleveland, both of Colquitt; two sisters, Joye Lott and Ocialene Cook, both of Colquitt; and three grandchildren.

DAWSON - Margaret Cook McRee of Albany, died at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany on Friday, November 8, 2002. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson with the Rev. Ray Bowman officiating.
Mrs. McRee was a native of Terrell County, born October 23, 1924, daughter of the late Frederick Lawson Cook and Emily Wilkes Cook. She had been a resident of Albany for the past 25 years moving from Dawson. She was a homemaker and owned and operated Margaret's Dress Shop in Dawson during the 1950's.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albany and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Dawson where she was a Sunday School Teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Monroe Bailey, second husband, James Edward McRee, O.D., and a brother, Lawson Cook Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Bailey and wife, Connie of Marietta, and Ed McRee and wife, Mary Simpson McRee of Albany; a sister-in-law, Cis Cook of Albany; four grandchildren, Lawson C. Bailey and wife, Michelle of Marietta, Lesley A. Bailey of Atlanta, Tripp McRee and Katie McRee, both of Albany; and a great-grandchild, Lawson C. Bailey Jr. of Marietta.

DAWSON - Floyd Robinson, 76, of 147 Mayhaw Pond Road, Dawson, died Friday, November 8, 2002 at his residence.

Born on October 7, 1926 in Terrell County, Mr. Robinson was a barber and attended Terrell County Public Schools. He was a member of Mount Mary Baptist Church in Sasser, where he was chairman of the Deacon Board, also a member of Legal Aid, NAACP, and the Agriculture Service Agency.
Survivors include his six children, Carolyn (Ralph) Solomon, Floyd Jr. (Vivian), Douglas (Victoria), Gloria, Vivian (Farris) Yarbrough, Patrick (Leigh Ann); nine grandchildren, Daryl, Douglas, Niger, Keisha, Chris, Anya, Delaney, Latoya, and Patrick; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Levi Robinson Jr., (Idell); and one sister, Minnie Terry.
