The funeral service of Titus Warner Brinson, 67, of Albany, who died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at his residence, will be conducted Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Daniell will officiate. Interment will follow at Leesburg Cemetery.
Mr. Brinson was a native of Dade City, FL and a graduate of Pasco County High School. He had resided in Albany since 1967 moving from Statesboro, GA. Mr. Brinson attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Georgia Southern University.
He was a self employed agricultural salesman, a member of SCV Camp # 1958 (Fire-Eaters) and the Sportsman Club of Baker County. Mr.Brinson attended First Baptist Church of Albany and Sherwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Geralene Brinson, of Albany, GA, a son, Stephen Brinson and his wife, Beverly, a daughter, Teresa Mathis and her husband, Reid, all of Leesburg, GA, two brothers, John Brinson and Melvin Brinson both of Richloam, FL, a sister, Jean Ward of Dade City, FL, five grandchildren, Robert Brinson, Daniel Brinson, Caroline Mathis, Connor Mathis and Colton Mathis.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.
The funeral service of Rebecca Wilkins Roberts Phillips, 86, of 1904 Palmyra Rd., who died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. Ronald R. Baxley will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A native of Clay Co., GA., Mrs. Phillips had resided in Albany since 1955. She was a retired bookkeeper and the retired co-owner of Phillips Grocery and Service Station formerly on Newton Road in Albany. She assisted in organizing and maintaining the library at Beacon Baptist Church where she was a member. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl E. Phillips.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly O’Neal and Brenda Sceals and her husband Bobby all of Albany, GA., five grandchildren, Steve O’Neal, Shaun O’Neal and his wife Ashlie, Terri Morey and her husband Kevin all of Albany, GA. Michelle St. Louis and her husband Paul, Staplehurst, NE., Scott Trogdon and his wife Lynne, Jacksonville, FL. three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn O’Neal, Jared St. Louis and Matthew St. Louis.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Mathews Funeral Home.

The graveside funeral service of Robert C. Benton, 79, of Albany, GA. who died July 5, 2007, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted Monday, July 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.
A native of Colquitt Co., GA, Mr.Benton had resided in Albany since 1942 moving from Colquitt Co., GA. He was former owner and operator of Benton’s Heating and Air Conditioning Company. Mr. Benton was a Navy Veteran and was a member of Westview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Benton of Albany; two daughters, Candy Corley and Robin Wiggins both of Albany; a son, Robert Perry Benton of Fayetteville, NC; a brother, Paul Benton of Pensacola, FL; a sister, Christine Griffin of AL; three grandchildren, Alicia Wiggins of Albany, Ralph Lee “Buddy” Wiggins of Ft. Benning, GA and Stephanie Rutland of Jacksonville, FL and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5p.m to 6 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
The non traditional memorial service of Patricia “Pat” Baskins, 63 of Albany, who died Tuesday August 21, 2007 at Palmyra Medical Centers, will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 PM at Unity Church, 178 Hugh Rd. (off Ledo Rd) Leesburg, GA 31763.
A native of Albany, Mrs. Baskins had lived here all of her life and was an administrative assistant.
Survivors include her husband Leon Baskins of Albany, a daughter Brandi Baskins of Hawkinsville, four sons, Fred Windows of Cheyenne, WY, Anthony Windows, Chris Windows and Freddy Baskins all of Albany, one brother Claude Taylor of Brunswick, nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The memorial service for Jamie Hancock, 30, of Albany, who died Tuesday, September 4, 2007, will be conducted 3:00PM on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate.
A lifelong native of Albany, Jamie attended Dougherty High School and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed life to the fullest and was always willing to help a person in need.
Survivors include his parents, Larry and Shirley Hancock, a sister Melissa Hancock, Maternal grandparents Robert and Seanie Williford, paternal grandparents Chester and Betty Hancock all of Albany and a number of aunts and uncles.

Barbara Lynn Croft, of Albany, died January 29, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Providence Church with interment in Floral Memory Gardens.
Born September 3, 1956 to Sonny and Betty Croft, Barbara attended Dougherty High School. She was an active member of the Anchor Club and the annual staff. Barbara received a bachelor's of Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University.
Barbara had a warm and welcoming heart. She was a wonderful mother and best friend to her daughter. She enjoyed music and spending time with her friends and family. She was a never ending source of comfort and support for anyone who needed her.

Survivors include her only daughter, Dara Lynn Drawdy; longtime companion, Glen Butcher; a step-son and his wife, Frank and Jennifer Butcher; two step-daughters and their husbands, Angela and Gary Hitt and Holly and Grant Terry; a step-grandaughter, Makayla Butcher; a brother, Glenn Croft; mother, Betty Croft.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Godfrey "Sonny" Croft.

The funeral service of Karen Jones, 65, of 2724 Radium Springs Rd., Albany, GA, who died Monday, January 7, 2008, at her residence, will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate.
A native of Omaha, NE, Mrs. Jones had resided in Albany since 1980 moving from Lynwood, CA. She was a senior tax advisor with H & R Block and was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a son, Don Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Guy Wendell Jones, of Albany, GA, two sons and their wives, W. DeWayne Jones and Tami of Lee Co., GA., David Jones and Renee, of Cummings, GA, a brother, Keith Kolekoski, Newport News, VA, four grandchildren, Devin Jones, Keith Jones, Dylan Jones and Josh Cranford, two great-grandchildren.

The memorial service of Susan NeSmith Gray, formerly of Albany, GA, will be conducted January 6, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mrs. Gray was born in Tallahassee, FL, and lived in Albany for most of her life. She graduated from Albany High School in 1964, received her BBA from Georgia Southwestern State University, and completed her Masters of Education with honors from the University of Georgia. She taught at Westover High School for many years, where her students knew her as Mrs. Pritchett. She also taught at M.C. Riley Elementary School in Bluffton, SC.
Survivors include two daughters, Carla Susan Pritchett of New Orleans, LA and Melissa Morrison Wood of Savannah, GA, two grandchildren, Stella Abigail Wood and David Lee Wood, Jr. both of Savannah, GA, her parents, Willis Berl and Josephine Martin NeSmith of Albany, GA and two brothers, Gary NeSmith of Savannah, GA and Tommy NeSmith of Albany, GA

The memorial service of Robert D. Hazeslip, 45 of Albany who died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted 6:00 pm Saturday at the home of Bobby and Patricia Crews, Riverside Community.
A native of Blythe, CA, Mr. Hazeslip had resided in Nahunta most of his life before moving to Albany two years ago. He was a 1979 graduate of Brantley County High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Mr. Hazeslip was employed with Swift Trucking Company.
Survivors include his life partner, Hosea Rutland of Albany, GA, three sisters, Pamela K. Strickland and her husband, Frankie, Patricia Crews and her husband, Bobby all of Nahunta, GA and Martha Waddle and her husband, Kevin of Benton, AR, a brother, John Hazeslip and his wife, Susan of Ft. Smith, AR, a step-brother, Larry Strickland of Savannah, GA and numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Mellisa Dial and Brenda Traub.
The funeral service of Carmen Barnes, 50 of Albany, who died Thursday August 23, 2007 at her daughter’s residence, will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ray Lowe will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery at a later date.
Carmen had lived most of life in Albany. She was a dog groomer at Bush Animal Clinic. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Haywood “Bob” and Carolyn Bowers.
Survivors include her daughter, Christy Barnes of Leesburg, GA: two sons, Allen Barnes of Leesburg, GA and Brandon Barnes of Rome, GA; two grandchildren, Milla Rousseau and Taylor Barnes.
The family will receive friends Sunday after the funeral service.
