SYLVESTER - Merle Davis Allen, 76, of 205 N. McPhaul St., Sylvester, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held today (Sunday), 3 p.m. at Banks Funeral Chapel, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Dr. Tom Jacobs will officiate.
Mrs. Allen was born on April 14, 1926 in Worth County, GA to Johnny Burke Davis and Willie Corene Spurlock Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Sylvester. She was the widow of Olon Allen, who died February 5, 1983.
Survivors include two sisters, Lois Collier and Louise Sumner, both of Sylvester; two nieces and two nephews.
A daughter, Beverly Jean Allen and a son, James Kenneth Allen preceded in death.
The family will receive friends today (Sunday) from 2 p.m.-until the service hour.

Dorothy Elizabeth Bagley Bell
LEESBURG - Dorothy Elizabeth Bagley Bell, 82, of Leesburg died Friday, November 15, 2002 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at Leesburg Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Harrell will officiate.
A native of Columbus, GA, Mrs. Bell had lived in Leesburg for 45 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was retired from Lee County Manufacturing where she worked for over 25 years and had been president and insurance clerk with the local AFL/CIO Textile Union. She and Mr. Bell celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on November 11.
Survivors include her husband, William Spencer Bell Jr., three sons, William Max Bell and his wife, Mary Alice, John Spencer Bell and his wife, Eva, all of Sylvester, Jimmy King Bell and his wife, Vickie of Marietta, a daughter, Martha Sue Collins and her husband, Mike of Leesburg, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

LEESBURG - The funeral service of Alline T. (Ryals) Denby, 86, of Leesburg, who died Friday, November 15, 2002, will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jim Luttrell will officiate. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Southview Cemetery, Thomaston, GA.
A native of Thomaston, GA, Mrs. Denby moved to Albany in 1953, and had lived in Leesburg for the past five years. She was one of the first founding members of Mercedes Baptist Church and had worked for Coats and Clark Thread Mill as a machine operator for 23 years. Mrs. Denby was preceded in death by two sons, Myrell and Bruce Ryals, two daughters, Gwen McIlhenny and Wyoline Degler, one granddaughter, Christine, and three great-grandsons, Johnathan, Jake and Paul.
Survivors include a daughter, Gayle (Ryals) Cox of Albany; 18 grandchildren, two adoptive grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday after the funeral service at the funeral home.

A native of Lee County, Mrs. Ramsey lived in Lee County and Dawson before moving to Kenesaw. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, former manager of the Swanee Swifty Store on US 19 where she worked for 18 years and had worked at Oxford Manufacturing in Dawson for a number of years.

DONALSONVILLE - Emily Juanita Smith Ingram, 73, of Colquitt passed away Friday, November 15, 2002 at Miller County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held today (Sunday) at 3:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with interment at Union Missionary Baptist Cemetery on Highway 91 in Colquitt, with the Rev. Billy Dawson officiating.
Mrs. Ingram was born in Seminole County on June 22, 1929 to Turner Thomas and Maggie Dickson Smith. She went to school in Seminole County and was a seamstress and certified nursing assistant for many years before retiring. She married Fred C. Ingram on March 23, 1946, who preceded her in death October 10, 1997. She was a member of Unity Church of God, where she taught Sunday School for over 20 years and sung in the choir.
She is survived by four daughters, Elaine and David Benefield of Rehobeth, AL, Harriett Johnson of Donalsonville, Vicki Knight of Blakely, and Peggy and Ricky Deal of Dothan, AL; two brothers, Russell Smith and Lynn Smith, both of Donalsonville; one sister, Christine Cross of Jakin; nine grandchildren, Rhonda Nemish, Denise Cape, Ledon Johnson, Renee Hunt, Brandon Benefield, Mimi Jones, Ashley Deal, Ciara Deal and Rhett Deal; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by four brothers, Bill Smith, Bob Smith, John Smith and Duke Smith; three sisters, Evelyn Hobbs, Geraldine Halks, Reba Enfinger and Inez Benton.

BAINBRIDGE - Wilbur Louis White, 87, of Bainbridge, died Friday, November 15, 2002.
Funeral services will be held today (Sunday), 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Bainbridge, with burial in Oak City Cemetery. Dr. Richard Davis and Dr. Leroy C. Spinks will officiate.
Mr. White was born May 12, 1915 in Decatur County, GA, the son of William Edmond White and Laura Partain White. He graduated from Attapulgus High School and served in the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) during World War II. He married Josephine Pringle on August 7, 1938. He served as a Deputy Sheriff in Decatur County from 1949-56 and was a retired fuel oil inspector for the Department of Agriculture. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bainbridge and the Baracca Sunday School Class. He was formerly active in the Bainbridge Kiwanis Club and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda W. Tibbets.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Pringle White of Bainbridge; a son, Rudy White and his wife, Gail of Stockbridge; a daughter, Jackie W. Mr. Sadler was a native of Georgia, lived in Huntsville, AL, for 24 years, and moved to Daleville five years ago. He was retired from the United States Army and a member of Daleville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Franklin Sadler and one brother, Thomas Edward Sadler.

Mr. Brooks was a World War II veteran and served in the Merchant Marines, U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Air Force and Carlton Company of Albany. He was a Mason and a member of the VFW. He was the son of the late Charlie P. and Alpha Smith Brooks and John and Ellie Bozeman.

Born March 7, 1915 in Mitchell County, Mrs. Wools was a homemaker and cosmetician and member of El Bethel Baptist Church of Tampa, FL. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Americus NeSmith Faircloth. Mrs. Wool was married to the late Jack Wools and was preceded in death by her first husband, Edison Howell; two daughters, Ramona McCarthy and Betty Lou Lee; a sister, Sadie Godwin; and a brother, Lawrence Faircloth.

LAWRENCEVILLE - Nancy Ann Bruner Dubeau, 76, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Albany, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2002.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, GA. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. today at the funeral home with a funeral service at 7 p.m.
A native of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mrs. Dubeau was a resident of Albany from 1959 until 1999. After raising two children, Nancy managed House of Textiles in Albany from its opening until her retirement. She was an active member of the Albany community volunteering with various organizations such as St. Clair's Soup Kitchen and the local American Cancer Society chapter. She served as a past director of the Albany Chamber of Commerce and was an active parishioner at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. From 1999, until her death, she lived in retirement communities in the Atlanta area. She first resided at Chambrel of Roswell then later at Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph (Joe) Dubeau and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ross E. Bruner.
Survivors include a son, James E. Dubeau and wife Debbie Taylor Dubeau of Lilburn; daughter, Susan Dubeau Powell and husband Bill Powell of League City, Texas; sister, Dot Spear of Rockland, ME; six grandchildren, Billy Powell of League City, Texas, Christina Powell of Austin, Texas, T.J. A native of Worth County, Mr. Raines was born September 12, 1926. He had lived in Worth County most of his life. He was a retired mechanic and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel Lloyd Raines and Joe Newell Raines and a granddaughter, Carol Summerall.
