The funeral service of James “Mac” McReynolds, 62, of 20 Hall Road, Tifton GA, formerly of Albany who died Friday, September 28, 2007 will be conducted Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 11:00A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Perry Lamey will officiate.
A native of Newport, Arkansas, Mr. McReynolds had resided in Tifton since 1997 moving from Albany. He was a retired diesel mechanic and was of a member of Liberty Expressway Church of God Mr. McReynolds was a proud business owner, inventor, and patent holder of the “J-MAC” valve used in diesel tractors used around the world.
Survivors include his wife, Retha McReynolds of Tifton; three sons, James C. Corbett and Robert L. Corbett both of Tifton and Donald E. Fuller of St. Petersburg, FL; three brothers, Larry McReynolds of Weers, KS, Bobby McReynolds of Lacygne, KS and Billy McReynolds Grove, OK; two sisters, Peggy Barry of Parsons, KS and Norma Kester of Spring Hill KS; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The family will receive friends Monday (today) from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service of Marian Jones Clark, 75, of 3509 Gillionville Rd, Albany, GA. who died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Phoebe Putney Hospital will be conducted Monday, April 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Dr. William Coker will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Marion Co., FL, Mrs. Clark was the widow of Maurice S. Clark, Sr. and had resided in Albany since 1938. She was a 1949 graduate of Albany High School and attended Breneau College where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
Mrs. Clark was a homemaker, mother and worked with her father at the Texas Oil Company and also worked with her husband as bookkeeper for the M.S. Clark Company for forty years. She was a charter member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, was a past deacon, served on the Worship Committee and was a member of the Serendipity Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two sons, Maurice S. Clark, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Albany and William (Bill) P. Clark of Albany, two brothers, Paul A. Jones, Jr. and his wife, Julia of Albany, and Edward C. Jones and his wife, Vernon of Atlanta, two sisters, Betty McInvale and Barbara Nichols and her husband, Paul of Albany and a granddaughter, Abigale Malone Clark of Albany.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service of Thelma M. Klages, 83, of 403 Jordon Road, Leesburg, GA, who died June 20, 2007, will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at The First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Rev. Bobby Harrell will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A native of Berrien County, GA, born to Otis and Blannie Metts, Mrs. Klages grew up in Alapaha. She graduated from Berrien High School and attended business school in Albany.
During World War II, Mrs. Klages was employed with the Brunswick Shipyard and was transferred to Washington D.C. and worked for the Pentagon. This is where she met the love of her life and late husband of forty years, Richard T. Klages, Jr.
Mrs. Klages had resided in Leesburg for the past thirty five years, moving from Albany and was retired from Civil Service in the Material Division at the Marine Corps Logistic Base in Albany. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Leesburg, The Fidelis Sunday School Class and the Thelma Klages Circle.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet Massey of Leesburg, GA and Kate Parrish of Albany, GA three sisters, Latrelle M. Heath and her husband Thomas of Alapaha, GA, Emogen Martin of Lizella, GA and Sandra M. Bock and her husband, Bill, of Columbus, GA, four grandchildren, Marnie Murphy and her husband, Ricky of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Bronie M. Massey of Jacksonville, Fl, Max L. Parrish and his wife, Veronica and Jody L. Massey of Leesburg, GA, and four great-grandchildren, Chet Murphy, Brooklyn Parrish, Christian Murphy and Rex Parrish.
The family will receive friends, (today) Friday, from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.

Franklin Lamar Pritchard, 68 of Albany passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev Carl Dunn will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.
A lifelong resident of Dougherty County, Mr. Pritchard was born in Putney, GA on May 8, 1938. He was a graduate of Albany High School and the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy. He was a registered pharmacist practicing in the state of Georgia for 45 years and was owner of Four Points Drug Store. . He was a member of Radium Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Pritchard was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert Pritchard and Ella Elizabeth Odom Pritchard, three brothers, John Lee Pritchard, Murray Pritchard and James Albert Pritchard, Jr. and a sister, Dwynell Pritchard Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Pritchard of Albany; three sons, Dr. Franklin Lamar Pritchard, Jr. and his wife Judy of Sterlington, LA, Zachry Scott Pritchard and his wife Karen of Stone Mountain,GA and John Lee Pritchard and his wife Nadine of London, England; two daughters, Amy Pritchard Arnold and her husband, Lance of Pensacola, FL and Kay Pritchard of Richmond Hill, GA; two sisters, Nada P. Nagel of Orlando, FL and Mizelle P. Murphy and her husband, Dr. Melvin Murphy, of Albany, GA; seven grandchildren, Matthew Lamar Pritchard, Rebecca LeAnn Pritchard, Erin Marie Pritchard, Samantha Lee Pritchard, Christian Troy Arnold, Brendan Tate Arnold and Sophie Louise Pritchard, several nieces and nephews and special friend, John Perry of Albany, GA.
The family will be at their residence.

The memorial service of Jennifer Lynn (Lil’ Bit) Sellers, 20, of 203 Walnut Street, Leesburg, GA, who died June 14, 2007, will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Ramsey will officiate. Visitation will follow until 6:00 P.M.
Born in Albany, Miss Sellers had resided in Leesburg for the past eight years. She was a member of Mercedes Baptist Church. Miss Sellers was a 2004 graduate of Lee County High School, was currently attending Darton College and had received her brown belt in Tae Kwan Do.
Survivors include her parents, Dennis and Jean Sellers, two sisters, Michelle Boyd and her husband, Travis and DeAndra (D.J.) Sellers, all of Leesburg, GA, her grandmother, Dean Sellers of Bessemer, AL, two nephews and two nieces, Josh Ramsey, Brian McCrary, Lacey Winborne and Hannah Marie Jewel McCray all of Leesburg, GA.
The family will be at the residence of Dennis and Jean Sellers, 111 Cannon Drive, Leesburg, GA, 31763

Billy Lee (Bill) Shipley, Sr., 79, of 2206 12 th. Ave., died Thursday August 9, 2007 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m.at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. William H. Sims, III and Rev. Charlie Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Chattanooga, TN., Mr. Shipley had resided in Albany since 1949. He was a retired PBX repairman with Southern Bell, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Air Force, a member of the Telephone Pioneers, The Open Door Sunday School Class and Byne Memorial Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Leann Shipley, his parents, Carl Hamilton Shipley and Thula Mae Henderson Shipley, three brothers, Dr. Kenneth Carl Shipley, Sr., Herbert Jack Shipley, Sr. and Hubert Gene Shipley, Sr., his father and mother-in-law, Luther Irving Wiggins and Dollie Palmer Wiggins.
Survivors include his wife of fifty six years, Geraldine (Gerry) Wiggins Shipley, Albany, GA., three sons, Billy Lee Shipley, Jr. and his wife Sherry, Jerry Wayne Shipley, Luther Hamilton (Luke) Shipley all of Albany, GA., a daughter , Dollie Maedina Shipley Dollar and her husband, Mike, Albany, GA., ten grandchildren, William Geoffrey Shipley and his wife Angie, Shannon Wayne Shipley, Sgt. Nicholas Scott Shipley and his wife Lauren, Brooklyn Michele Dollar, Jami Leeann Shipley, Christy Lynn Shipley, Savannah Morgan Dollar, Melissa Smith and her husband Michael, Kelly Draper and her husband Brian, Ryann Revell and her husband Mason, four great-grandchildren, Travis Lee Shipley, Trever Scott Shipley, Nicholas James Shipley, Connor Reid Smith, sister-in-law, Jewel Wiggins Scott and a brother-in-law and his wife, T.H. The funeral service of Mark Edward Clayton, 35, of 109 Mossydale Lane, Albany, who died Friday September 21, 2007 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted Monday September 24, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 9:00 p.m. Committal services will be held Tuesday September 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev. Tony Clay will officiate.
A native and life long resident of Dougherty Co., GA., Mr. Clayton was a graduate of Riverview Academy, a pest control technician, a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class and a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William Edward Clayton and Clyde Griffin.
Survivors include his parents, Charles Edward Clayton and Diane G. Clayton, two brothers, Michael Clayton and Phillip Clayton, grandmothers, Erdis Clayton and Myrtle Griffin all of Albany, GA., three aunts, Lois Chavers, Albany, GA., Sandra Carver, Adairsville, GA., Sara Bennette, Cairo, GA. and six cousins.

The funeral service of Elizabeth Ann Surles, 69, of 238 Stonegate Drive, Albany, GA who died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Sunday, at 2:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
A native of Terrell County, Ms. Surles grew up in Dawson, graduated from Terrell County High School and had lived in Albany for the past fifty years. Mrs. Surles worked at Kate’s Restaurant in Dawson for many years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Steve McGowen, of Albany, GA and Jerrie and Ralph Evans, of Douglas, GA, two brothers, Billy Kilpatrick and his wife, Harriett and Jimmy Kilpatrick all of Dawson, GA, a sister and her husband, Eleanor and Walter Helms, of Albany, GA, four grandchildren, Adrienne Evans, Griffin Evans, Christy Walker and Cady Adams, two nieces, Lisa Pike and Leigh Whitfield, and a nephew, Pat Helms.
Ms. Surles was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Annie Kate (Howard) Kilpatrick and a nephew, Mart Kilpatrick.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. today (Saturday) at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service of Frances Virginia Brooks, 83, of Albany who died Saturday March 24, 2007 at her residence, will be conducted Tuesday March 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Rev. Mark S. Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native and life long resident of Dougherty Co., GA., Miss Brooks was a graduate of Albany High School, a graduate of Perry Business College and was retired from Albany Coca Cola Bottling Company after forty four years and then went to work at the Haley Farms Commissary. She had been a communicant of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church since 1940 where she was a member of the church choir. She said singing and digging in the dirt was good for your soul. She was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Elmore Brooks and her mother, Agnes Estelle Hall and a sister, Marie Carolyn Brooks.
Survivors include four cousins, Dorothy Brooks Irvin, Baconton, GA., Mary Frances Holden, Moultrie, GA. Pam Irvin Rucker and Kathy Irvin Shiver both of Baconton, GA., a beloved cat, Sir Blackie and her church family.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service of Eileen Ellerd Hayes, 79, of 2381 Fouche Gap Rd. Rome, GA formerly of Albany who died Saturday, April 28, 2007, will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Chris Hall will officiate. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Marion Co., GA., Mrs. Hayes had resided in Rome for the past three years after moving from Albany, GA. She was a retired bookkeeper and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Pat Hayes of Rome, GA, two sons Larry and Claye Barwick both of Rome, GA and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends (today) Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
