ALBANY - The funeral service of Jacob D. Edwards, 59, of 1724 Nelms Road, Albany, who died Monday, December 9, 2002, at his residence, will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmy Hagadorn will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Enon Cemetery in Baconton, GA.
A native of Mitchell County, Mr. Edwards had lived in Albany since 1957. He was a mechanic with Coats and Clark for twenty one years and was a Pentecostal.
Survivors include a son, Jade Edwards of Albany; a daughter, Kathy Alley of Albany; a brother, Talmadge Edwards of Baconton; a sister, Peggie Gordon of Baconton; two grandchildren, Clayton Edwards and Jared Edwards; a step-grandson, Shawn Alley and a special friend, Carol Rice of Albany.

ALBANY - Travis Ceasar Harris, 34, of 1012 Crawford Drive died Sunday, December 8, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shingler with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dexter Taylor, pastor, officiating.
A native of Worth County, Mr. Harris was a production worker for Flint River Cotton Mill in Albany. He was a 1987 graduate of Worth County High School and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shingler.
Survivors include his mother, Deloris James-Harris of Sylvester; a fiancee, Kathy Gervin-Burns of Albany; four children, Travis C. Harris Jr. of Moultrie, DeAndria Harris of Moultrie, Antonio Harris and Monique Proctor, both of Sylvester; two sisters, Veronica Shelton of Albany and Carolyn McCaster of Stone Mountain; five brothers, Melvin Harris of Macon, Felton Vernon Harris Jr. of Albany, Carlton Harris Sr. and Reginald Harris, both of Sylvester, and Darrell Harris of Tifton.
The remains of Mr. Harris will lie-in-state at the church Thursday from noon until the funeral hour.
The family of Mr. Harris will receive friends and relatives at the residence of his mother, Deloris James-Harris, 803 Railroad Street, Sylvester.

TIFTON - Frances Tucker McDonald, 84, of Tifton died Monday, December 9, 2002, at Tift Health Care.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with interment in Oakridge Cemetery. Dr. Charles T. Parker Sr. will officiate.
A native of Dougherty County, Mrs. McDonald had lived in Tift County over 60 years. She was a homemaker and attended Albany schools. She had been a member of Northside Baptist Church in Tifton since 1959.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha M. (Troy) Hobbs of Ashburn, Jewell M. (Carlton) Jackson of Albany, Sandra M. Cone of Quitman and Laverne Willis of Tifton; brother, Mayo M. Tucker of Tifton; sister, Sarah T. Brookshire of Seal Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O.E. and Fannie Mayo Tucker; husband, Earl McDonald, 1982; one sister, Hermine T. Thompson; one brother, B.F. Tucker and one son-in-law, Charles O. (Bud) Willis.

A native of Early County, Mrs. Prisant had lived in Leesburg since 1934. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg, the Women's Missionary Union and the Lee County Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Goodwin Hall in 1974, and Bennie Harry Prisant in 1990.
Survivors include a son, James M. Hall and his wife Ann of Lake Blackshear; two daughters, Joyce H. Letts and her husband W. Jackson of Kansas City, KS, Marinel H. Rhodes of Leesburg; a brother, Terry Moore of Albany; six grandchildren, J. A native and lifelong resident of of Worth County, Mr. Stephens was born September 28, 1916. He was the son of the late William Marcus Jasper Stephens and Zenomie Brown Stephens. Mr. Stephens was a farmer and a member and deacon of Evergreen Baptist Church and the Adult Mens Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Hollingsworth Stephens, of Doerun; son, Marcus Stephens of Sylvester; daughter, Venescia S. Knight of Albany; sister, Ellender Lightfoot of Doerun; four granddaughters, Wendy Kennedy of Albany, Marsha S. Kimbrel of Doerun, and Melanie S. Potts and Monica S. Fred W. Wenzel
ALBANY - Fred W. Wenzel, 86, of Sarasota Bay Club, 1301 N. Tamiami Trail #108, Sarasota, FL 34236, died Friday, December 6, 2002, in Sarasota, FL.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sarasota Bay Club.
A native of St. Louis, MO, Mr. Wenzel attended the University of Wisconsin and in 1937 returned to St. Louis to join the family business, H. Wenzel Tent and Duck Co. In 1952, he founded Hawthorn Company, which was one of 15 soft goods manufacturers that merged in 1961 to form Kellwood. Mr. Wenzel was elected as the company's first chairman in 1964, serving in that capacity until May 1, 1991.
Mr. Wenzel served as a director on numerous corporate and charitable boards including Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc., Seven-Up Company, Missouri Portland Cement Co., Mercantile Bancorporation Inc., Mercantile Trust Company, N.A., United Energy Resources, Inc., United Gas Pipe Line Co., Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, Central Institute for the Deaf, St. Louis; and the United Fund of Greater St. Louis.
In 1975, he received the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award for 25 years of exemplary service in his business and public life. He was also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the national business administration honor society.
An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Wenzel's special interests included farming, fly fishing, quail hunting and training bird dogs. In 1973, Mr. Wenzel accompanied Sir Edmond Hillary in a climb to the base camp of Mount Everest in the Himalayas. In the later years he enjoyed an annual trip to Arctic Russia fly fishing for Atlantic salmon.
He established Kolomoki Plantation, a 5,500 acre farm in Bluffton, GA, and was part owner of Edison Gin and Southwest Georgia Peanut Warehouse.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Edna Wenzel of Sarasota; a son, Robert Wenzel of Port Charlotte, FL; two grandchildren and one brother.
