FITZGERALD - Davis C. Sims, 80, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, December 15, 2002 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, both in Fitzgerald.
Born on September 19, 1922 in Oglethorpe County, GA, Mr. Sims was the son of the late Selma S. Sims and Cornelia Stewart Sims. He was a retired conductor for the CSX Railroad and was a realtor with Roanoke Realty. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II and the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Sims had lived in Fitzgerald most of his life. He was well known for his sky diving and parachutist accomplishments, including the 13th U.S. Military and Civilian with 3000 parachutes jumps. He was a sky diving instructor. He also was a Pioneer Free Fall Parachutist, a member of the U.S. Parachute Association and the South Georgia Parachutist Association. He was a member of VFW and American Legion and former member of the Jaycees and the Fitzgerald Rotary Club. He was also a member of South Georgia Touring Club and he was a Mason and Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Linda L. Sims of Fitzgerald; a son, Alan C. Sims of Valdosta; a daughter, Vicki S. Harris of Fitzgerald; a brother, Max Sims of Augusta; a sister, Lou S. Turk of Waycross; two stepsons, Jimmy St. John of Fitzgerald and Joey and his wife, Tracy St. John of Box Springs, GA; grandchildren, Pam Langley and Chip Harris; and great-grandchild, Taylor Morgan.
Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his stepmother, Estelle H. Sims, and two brothers, Weldon and David Sims.
Visitation will be held today (Monday), from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2002 at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Donnie Ray Hall will officiate, burial will follow in Countyline Cemetery, both in Sasser.
"T'ninch" as he was affectionally called attended the public schools of Lee County. He was a member of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Sasser.
He leaves to mourn his passing, nine children, Eddie Thomas (Ann) of Sasser, Jerry Thomas (Eula) of Dawson, Geraldine Jones, Rethenia Hill (Jim), and John Thomas, all of Albany, Claude Thomas (Jean) of Newark, NJ, Edward Thomas Jr., Freddie Thomas and James Thomas, all of Ternton, NJ; and 24 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

Born July 3, 1909 in Terrell County, Mrs. Bell was a retired insurance agent and seamstress. She attended Terrell County Public Schools. She was a member of Hines Memorial C.M.E. Church, Modern Women Civic and Social Club.

SYLVESTER - Wilburn (W.W.) Bridges, 77, of 557 Doerun Rd., Doerun, died Sunday, December 15, 2002, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cool Springs Baptist Church in Colquitt County with interment in Cool Springs Cemetery.
A native of Grady County, Mr. Bridges was born March 11, 1925. He was the son of Johnny and Carrie Morey Bridges. He had lived in Worth County for the past two years, moving from Doerun. He was the owner/operator of Bridges Remodeling. He was a member of Springhill Freewill Baptist Church in Mitchell County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Batson Bridges, July 8, 1999. A grandson, David Sadler, preceded him in death November 24, 1999.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and (Doug) Maher of Doerun and DeDe and (Sammy) Bowman of Albany; two stepsons, Jerry Allen of Albany and Johnny Farrow of Idaho; a stepdaughter, Ann Farrow of Alabama; brother, Charlie Bridges of Albany; sister, Gwenette Bowden of Albany; and a grandson, Samuel Wilburn Bowman.
The remains have been taken to the residence of Kay and Doug Maher, 557 Doerun Rd., Doerun, GA, where the family will receive friends.

A native of Colquitt County, Mrs. Brown-Boston was born December 25, 1923. She was a homemaker and attended Baker County public schools. She was a former member of Mose Grove Baptist Church in Newton.
Survivors are a loving and devoted family: her husband, Johnny B. ALBANY - The funeral service of Eva Elizabeth Laramore, 81, of 124 Sneed Road, Leesburg, who died Monday, December 16, 2002, at her residence, will be conducted Wednesday 2 p.m. at Kinchafoonee Baptist Church. A native and life long resident of Leesburg and the Albany area, Mrs. Laramore was a retired private duty nurse and retired civil service. She was a member of Kinchafoonee Baptist Church where she taught the Adult Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Golden Key Club at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Moses Laramore Jr. and her son, William Moses Laramore III.
Survivors include two grandsons, John Christopher (Chris) Laramore and his wife, Sunday of Leesburg and William Matthew Laramore of Leesburg; a granddaughter, Debbie Hofer and her husband, Bill of Fitzgerald; a daughter-in-law, Christine Laramore of Leesburg; three sisters, Faye Griffin of Dawson, Martha Knight of Albany and Lucille Kearse of Leesburg; a brother, Wayne Hammond of Tennessee; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
