A native of Baldwin Co., GA., Mrs. Whitaker had resided in Albany since 1968 moving from Warner Robins, GA. A native and life long resident of Calhoun Co., GA., Mr.Adams was a truck driver for the past twenty six years and was employed with CSS. He was a member of Plantation Parkway Assembly of God and was preceded in death by his father, Louis E. Adams.

The funeral service of Tommy D. Rowe, 55, of 815 16th Ave., Albany, GA. who died Friday, September 21, 2007 at his residence will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Mercedes Baptist Church. Rev. Russell Anglin will officiate. Interment will follow in Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery, Mitchell County. Mercedes Youth and Young Adults will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A native of Moultrie, GA, Tommy had resided in Albany most of his life and graduated from Dougherty High School and Albany Technical College. He was most recently employed with and was superintendent for Facility Maintenance, Inc. (FMI) in Camilla. Tommy had previously been employed with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for many years and served as an off campus instructor with Albany Technical College for major corporations.
Tommy’s professional auto racing career included distinctions as crew chief/team manager of The World Record Land Speed run, two Endurance Racing Championships and The Silver State Off-Road Racing Championship.
Tommy was a dedicated member of Mercedes Baptist Church and served as Youth and Sunday School Director
Survivors include his wife, Lynn West Rowe of Albany, two children, Christopher M. Rowe and his fiancée, Mary Catherine McNamee, of East Point, FL, and a daughter, Amanda Smith and her husband, Mark, of Valdosta, GA, his parents, J.B. and Virginia Rowe, of Albany, a brother, Duane Rowe and his wife, Melody of Chesapeake, VA., a sister, Carol Allen and her husband Terry, a grandson, Chandler Michael Rowe, two nieces, Holly Gurr and her husband, Chris, and Traci Hagadone and her husband, Travis, all of Albany, a nephew, Brent Rowe of Chesapeake, VA, a great-niece, Skyler Gurr and a nephew, Hunter Liticker.

A native of Section, AL, Mrs. Hughes had resided in Albany since 1959, moving from Thomasville, GA. She was retired from the bookstore at Darton College and was a secretary with Pritchett Ford and Hughes Construction Company. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church since 1967. She was preceded in death by her parents, Drew Horton Duke and Erie Ester DeBerry Duke, three brothers and three sister.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ed Hughes of Albany, GA, five daughters, Linda Carr and her husband Frank of Lee County, Janice Rouse and her husband Charlie of Albany, Cindy Bailiff and her husband Charles of Austell, GA, Diana Swails of Lee County and Pam McCorvey and her husband Chris of Albany. Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A native of Athens, AL, Mr. Tennison resided in Albany since 1968 until moving to Lee County five years ago. He served in The National Guard and was a long time employee with Pellicano Construction Company where he served as a construction superintendent and was of the Church of God Faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Day Tennison.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Adams Tennison, two sons, Barry Tennison, and Scott Tennison and his wife, Heidi all of Leesburg, GA, his mother, Winnie Craig Tennison, Athens, AL., five grandchildren, Kathryn Tennison, Brice Tennison, Kelsey Sheffield, Bailey Tennison and Samantha (Sam) Tennison.

A native of Lee County, GA., Mr. Palmer had resided in Terrell Co, since1991 moving from Albany. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served two tours in Vietnam, he was a retired probation officer, a member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans, BG. Philip Cook Camp # 704, Terrell Co., GA. and Baptist by faith.

Cole was born in Albany, but has resided in Leesburg all his life. He attended and was the mascot for Lee County High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg and was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Doyle L. Lentz.

Richard Conrad Barry
DAWSON -- Richard Conrad Barry, 76, of Dawson, died at his residence on December 12, 2006.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson United Methodist Church with Dr. Robert Williams and Dr. Wyman Richardson officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Barry was a native of Crisp County, born October 16, 1930, son of the late James Reginal Barry Sr. and Emmie Lou Roberts Barry. He attended Crisp County Schools, was a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he played varsity football, was a member of the A-Club, and R.O.T.C. He also received his Master's degree from Alabama and later his Six-Year Degree in Administration from Auburn University.
He served as Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and most his professional life was in education. He was a high school teacher and coach in Metter, Cordele and Dawson for many years, and he was Principal of Terrell High School for two years and later was Terrell Co. School Superintended from 1973 to 1992. He was a member of the Georgia Retired Educators Assn., both local and state chapters.
Richard was a very active member of the Dawson United Methodist Church, where he taught the Berean Sunday School Class, over the years he served in many positions including Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Administrative Board, Finance Chairman and Lay Leader. He was a member of the Dawson Lions Club and served as president for two terms and in many other capacities.
He was a member of the University of Alabama Alumni Assn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Barry.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Elaine Cormack Barry of Dawson; children, Richard C. Barry Jr. and wife, Maggie of Charleston, S.C., Dawn B. Driver and her husband, Wendell of Alpharetta, Eve B. Miller and husband, Wayne of Leesburg, Twila Barry Mixon of Ellijay, Paul Dixon Marshall of Waverly, KY, and Lynn Marshall Smith and husband, David of Albany; brother, James R. Barry Jr. of Cordele; two sisters, Peggy B. Jones of Cordele and Callie B. Peele of Bath, NC; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
