COLQUITT - Colleen Houston, 55, of Colquitt, died Friday, December 20, 2002 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held today (Sunday), 1 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following service at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Revs. Kent Barwick and David Grubbs officiating.
Born on July 4, 1947 in Miller County, Mrs. Houston was retired from the Decatur County Health Department and a member of Colquitt Assembly of God.
Survivors include her husband, Lynwood C. Houston of Colquitt; her father, Collie Bush of Punta Gorda, FL; three sisters, Dorothy Bedsole of Auburndale, FL, Margie Whitaker of Colquitt and Duane Byrd of Attapulgus; mother-in-law, Mildred Houston of Colquitt; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley and Rachel Houston of Colquitt; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Bush; two sisters, Eva Jewel Bush and Mary Frances Bush.
Pallbearers are as follows: Buren Whitaker, Craig Donley, Chris Donley, J.D. Bush, Hoyt Sapp and Harold Bedsole.

Nathaniel James Smith
DAWSON - The Rev. Nathaniel James Smith was born September 16, 1912 in Hallsboro, NC, to the late Manly and Ida Mae Smith. He accepted Christ at an early age at the Mount Hebron A.M.E. Zion Church.
The Rev. Smith's life was distinguished and exceptional. He received a Bachelor of Divinity in 1965 from ITC/Phillips School of Theology. He received his Masters of Divinity in 1973 also from ITC. He pastored the CME Church for over 50 years. He served as Presiding Elder over several districts, including the Cordele District, The West Georgia Conference, The LaGrange District, West Georgia Conference, and Pastor of several other churches, including St. James C.M.E. Church, Dawson, St. Mathews C.M.E. Church, Dawson, and St. Paul C.M.E. Church, Cusseta. He attended Tuskegee Institute where he received a BA degree in Vocational Agriculture. He was a High School Teacher and Principal in several counties until retirement.
The Rev. Smith died Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Columbus.
He is survived by one son, Nathaniel Moore Johnson (Carolyn), Atlanta; two grandsons, Joseph Craig Smith and Nathaniel K. Smith, both of Dawson; four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ida Smith of Sanford, FL; several nieces and nephews, Aloysius Smith, Avery Alton Smith and Pazaria Mobley, of Sanford, FL, Austin, Vernon, Jewel and Lavern Brown, all of Baltimore, MC, Ida Brown of Augusta, and Alethia Mae Brown-Young of Newark, DE; and a devoted and caring friend, the Rev. Andrew L. Thomas Jr. (Minnie) of Columbus.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 24, 2002, 10 a.m. at St. Paul C.M.E. Church, Cusseta, with the Rev. Paul Milton, James N. Morton, and Elder John Avery officiating.

MOULTRIE - William Earl Smith, 77, of 700 6th St., S.E., Moultrie, died Friday, December 20, 2002 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, Moultrie.
Funeral services will be held today (Sunday), 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with burial in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Jenkins will officiate.

Born May 29, 1925 in Lakeland, FL, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Jennie Hancock Smith and William Oris Smith. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World for 51 years and received his 50 year pin.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Marie S. McLendon and her husband, J.F. of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today (Sunday) from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

SYLVESTER - Terris Blackwell, 80, 5394 Hwy. 300, Warwick, died Sunday, December 22, 2002 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
The remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at Banks Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. C.R. Gamble officiating.
Mr. Blackwell was born in Mitchell County, GA, on March 1, 1922. He was retired from the United States Navy after 22 years as a Petty Officer First Class, where he served in the World War II and the Korea War. He was a member of the VFW in Albany and a member of Oakfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Beatrice (Bea) Sanderson Blackwell of Warwick; son, Mark Blackwell of Tarpon Springs, FL; two daughters, Elaine Blackwell and Gay Blackwell, both of Sylvester; a brother, Clifford Blackwell of Warwick; a sister, Joy Gunter of Mary Esther, FL; a grandson, Shanon Stuart; and granddaughter, Brieana Niestrom.

AUGUSTA - Nell Louise Allen Durshimer, entered into rest Saturday, December 21, 2002, the widow of Arthur Henry Durshimer Sr. Mrs. Durshimer was also preceded in death by her son, Arthur Durshimer Jr.
Family members include two grandsons, Steven Lee Durshimer and his wife, Vicki, of Hudson, FL, and Arthur Henry Durshimer III and his wife, Meg, of Bradenton, FL; one sister, Ria Johnston of Burnnell, FL; one granddaughter, Georgia Louise Durshimer of Martinez; one daughter-in-law, Violet Durshimer of Augusta; five great grandchildren, Matthew Durshimer, Michael Durshimer, Amelia Durshimer, Jacob Durshimer and Benjamin Durshimer; and several nieces and nephews.

EDISON - Willie Mae Loyless Bonner, 82, of Rt. 2, Box 113, Edison, died Sunday, December 22, 2002 at her residence.

Mrs. Bonner was born on May 25, 1920 in Early County. She has lived most of her adult life in Calhoun County. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Baptist Church of Edison. She was the daughter of the late Jim Loyless and Anna Pearl Loyless, and the widow of Robert James Bonner.
Survivors include two sons, James Edward Bonner of Winder and William Earl Bonner of Edison; a daughter, Duane McCloud of Albany; a brother, Grady Loyless of Conyers; and nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a son, Grady Foster Bonner; and a sister, Juanita Clark.

Mrs. Jones, 95, died Wednesday, December 18, 2002 in a local nursing home. Born in Crawford County, she was the daughter of the late Ebb and Sarah Traylor and the widow of the late Alex Jones. She was a member of the Brown Chapel Baptist Church, a housekeeper and a homemaker.
