ALBANY - James Charles Clemmons Jr., 53, of 1504 West Waddell Ave. died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Shiloh Baptist Church, 325 West Whitney Ave., Albany with interment in Riverside Cemetery. The. Rev. H.C. Boyd will officiate.
Born April 25, 1953, in Lee County, Mr. Clemmons was a 1972 graduate of Westover High School. He was employed with Primus Industries and was an Army veteran. Mr. Clemmons was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and the NWACP.
Survivors include five daughters, Kelly Cathleen Dreger, Javetta Clemmons, Tammy Clemmons, Linda Gervin and Shawn Clemmons, all of Albany; three sons, James Clemmons I, Larry Dorsey and Jim Dorsey, all of Albany; eight brothers, Richard Phillips, Wayne McCray, James McCray and Gary Phillips, all of Albany, Benjamin Walton of Columbus, Kenny McCray of Camilla, Lynn Clemmons and Murray Clemmons, both of Dayton Beach, FL; sisters, Jessie Bell McCray, Rosa McCray, Linda McCray and Cynthia Clemmons, all of Albany; and 14 grandchildren.

ALBANY - Aldean Davenport, 45, of 407-B South McKinley St. died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 217 South Washington St., Albany, with interment in Union Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Ernest Davis Jr. will officiate.
Born June 12, 1950, in Albany, Mrs. Davenport attended Dougherty County public schools. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Laverne Malone (Albert) of Albany; one son, J.D. Clyde (Belinda) of Albany; one sister, Linda F. Dowell (Gene) of Albany; two brothers, Johnny B. Davenport (Mattie) and Willie C. Davenport, both of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, Markelia Downe and Diamond Murray, both of Albany.
The remains of Mrs. Davenport will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. today until the funeral hour.
The family of Mrs. Davenport will receive friends and relatives at the home of her sister, Linda Dowell, 1818 Seay Court here in Albany.

Evelyn C. White
ALBANY - Evelyn C. White, 94, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully, on June 8, 2006, at Morningside of Albany of natural causes. She was a 60 year resident of Albany and a member of Gillionville Baptist Church.
Mrs. White was born in Forsyth, Ga., on April 21, 1912, and grew up in Haddock, Ga.
She graduated from Jones County High School in 1928, and then attended the Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville (now Middle Georgia College) where she was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She received her B.S. Ed. in 1932 and began teaching English and Latin at Twiggs County High School in Jeffersonville, Ga.
There she met Milledge White, the Twiggs County Agricultural Extension Agent who was a fellow boarder at the boarding house. They fell in love and were married on Thursday, June 25, 1936. They settled and began to raise a family with the birth of a son in 1939 and another son in 1941.
After World War II, in 1946, the White's moved to Albany where Evelyn resumed teaching. She taught second grade at Isabella Elementary School then at Palmyra Elementary, finally retiring after the 1967-68 school year.
An active member at First Baptist Church for 58 years as a member of the Estherian Sunday School class, she taught Sunday School for 18 years and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union.
Evelyn trusted Jesus as her personal savior at an early age. There can be no doubt in anyone's mind who knew her that she knew Him and loved Him since she radiated and shared that love as only one who knows Him could.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. and Minnie Mae Chambliss; her brother, Charles T. Chambliss and her son, Milledge White, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Milledge White, Sr. of Albany; her son, Robert H. White of Duluth, Ga.; five grandchildren, Laura A. White of Loganville, Ga., Brannon White and Lindsey Johns, both of Albany, Robert A. "Drew" White and Jason W. White, both of Duluth, Ga., and six great-grandchildren, all of Albany.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home and will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Brannon White, 1815 Marbury Lane, Albany, GA 31707. The funeral service will be held at Gillionville Baptist Church, 4614 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA on Monday, June 12, 2006, at 10 a.m. Rev. Tony Haefs officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

COLQUITT - Eddie Lamar Butler, 61, of Colquitt died June 8, 2006, at Miller County Hospital.

Born November 17, 1944, in Bay County, Fla., Mr. Butler was a retired clerk. He was a member of the Lt. Lovett Allen Tully Camp #2071, Sons of Confederate veterans.
Survivors include his mother, Inez White of Colquitt; two daughters, Rachelle and son-in-law, Tracy Kimbrel and Holly Butler, both of Colquitt; two grandchildren, Alan and Joshua Kimbrel, both of Colquitt; three nieces and five nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, John T. Butler; one brother, John Wayne Butler; and one sister, Barbara Christine Nichols.

Mrs. Sapp was born October 27, 1920, in Decatur County, GA, the daughter of Joseph Lee Burnum and Sally Pollock Burnum. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1940. She was a homemaker, and a member of Attapulgus Baptist Church where she taught the Ladies Sunday School Class for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt T. Sapp and a daughter, Jacqueline Sapp Greene.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy S. Garner and husband, James of Snellville, GA, and Linda S. Siedel and husband, Norman of Olympia, WA; a son, Hoyt T. Sapp Jr. and wife, Peggy of Attapulgus; a son-in-law, Henry Greene of Valdosta; a sister, Josie Lamb of Bainbridge; five grandchildren, Michelle Shepard, Robert Garner, Susan Branch, Amy Dobbs and Macey Sapp; and five great-grandchildren, Amber Branch, Athena Branch, Garrett Dobbs, Jacob Dobbs and Michael Shepard.
