ALBANY - SSgt. Andrew John Zabka, USAF (Ret.), 81, died Saturday, January 7, 2006 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
His memorial service will be Monday 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, Americus, GA. The Rev. Nathan Godley will officiate. His remains were cremated.
Mr. Zabka was born in Scranton, PA. He served on active duty with the United States Air Force. He was predeceased by his wife, Edyth Griffin Zabka; two brothers, Henry Zabka and John Zabka; and a niece, Audrey Zabka.
He is survived by his sister, Victoria Campbell and her husband, Bruce of Des Moines, IA; his caregiver, Paulette Moore and her husband, Dewey, her two sons, Nick Moore of Albany, and Chad Moore of Leesburg; nieces and nephews, Henry Zabka, Glen Burnie of Maryland, John Zabka of Halethorpe, MD, Kevin Campbell of Polk City, IA, Robert Campbell of Arlington, VA, Karen Campbell of Des Moines, IA; great niece and nephews, Susan Marie Zabka of Linthicum, MD, Andrew John Zabka of Fredericksburg, VA, J.D. Wilcox of Scranton, PA, and Donovan Campbell of Arlington, VA.

A native of Chatham, VA, Mr. Powell had lived in Lee County most of his life. He was a graduate of Lee County High School. He was a salesman with Freeway Auto and had worked with Pritchett Ford and Aultman Cadillac. Mr. Powell also served as Chief of Police of Leesburg.
Survivors include his sons, Adam Jacob Powell of Albany, and Anthony Michael Powell and his wife Angela of Canton; grandchildren, Abbie, Allie, and Cloie; sisters, Kathy Turner, and Elizabeth Williams, both of Albany, Cecelia Hite of Edinburg, VA; and brothers, Gene Powell of Augusta, and John Herren of Florida.

ALBANY - The funeral service of Kyle G. Watson, 74, of 1885 Philema Rd., Albany, who died Sunday, January 8, 2006 at his residence will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at East Albany Church of God. A native of Laurens County, GA, Mr. Watson had resided in Albany since 1970, moving from West Palm Beach, FL. He retired from Colonial Oil Company in Jacksonville, FL, and was the retired owner/operator of Watson's and Sander's Union 76 Service Station. Mr. Watson was a member of East Albany Church of God and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cynthia Gay Watson and a son-in-law, Lum Story Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lillie Ivey Watson of Albany; three daughters, Cindy Story of Lee County, Rhonda Kimbrel and husband, Larry of Lee County, Terri Milton and husband, Terry of Snellville; two sons, Michael Wayne Watson and wife, Dee of Lee County, and Steven Kyle Watson and wife, Cindy of Tifton; a brother, H.J. SYLVESTER - Grady Giddens, 92, of 4313 Ga. Hwy. #313, Sylvester, died Sunday, January 8, 2006, at Sylvester Health Care.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Red Oak Baptist Church with interment in Red Oak Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Burnett and the Rev. Donald Cole will officiate.
Born June 9, 1913, in Worth County, to Emma Elizabeth Houston Giddens Bolton and William Pickett Giddens, Mr. Giddens had lived in Worth County all of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of Red Oak Baptist Church. He was the widower of Claudine Daniels Giddens and Elois Webb Giddens.
Survivors include his brothers, Brooks Giddens of Sylvester and Robert Bolton of Leesburg; sister-in-law, Eldora Grubbs of Sylvester; stepdaughter, Debra Watson of Sylvester.
In addition to his parents, first wife and second wife, Mr. Giddens was preceded in death by two sons, Harris Wayne and William Randall Giddens.
