SYLVESTER - Joe Johnston Jones, 43, of Sylvester died Sunday, January 8, 2006, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery. Dr. Dan Williamson will officiate.
Born January 11, 1962, in Dougherty County, to Bruce and JoAnn Johnston Jones, Mr. Jones had lived in Worth County for the past four years moving here from Albany. He was a graduate of Westover High School. He received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Georgia, an Eagle Scout who received the National Boy Scouts of America Honor Medal for saving a life at the risk of his own. He was past president of the Albany Artist Guild and was a sculptor who won many awards, local, state and national. He was a sales rep. for DuBois Chemical Co. for 13 years. He was a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela N. Jones of Sylvester; parents, Bruce and JoAnn Johnston Jones of Albany; brother, Richard B. Jones Jr. of Woodstock; stepdaughter, Leigh Ann Ivey of Atlanta.
The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home.

ALBANY - The funeral service of Rachel "Kathy" McDonald, 72, of 235 Mossy Oak Drive, Sylvester, GA, who died Sunday, January 8, 2006, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted Wednesday, January 10, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Brother Billie McDonald Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Fort Benning Cemetery at 3 p.m.
A native of Sumter County, GA, Mrs. McDonald had resided in Sylvester since 1986, moving from Lee County. She was a waitress and an Albany Herald Carrier. Mrs. McDonald was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, MSGT Billie Chester McDonald, a son, Keith Allan McDonald and a brother, Jerry Stroud.
Survivors include four daughters, April Reardon and husband, Bob of Sylvester, Julia Brookerd and husband, Ryan of Albany, Linda Swain and husband, Eddie of Sylvester and Angela Robinson and husband, Tim of Blackshear; two sons, Billie McDonald Jr. and wife, Sheree of Leslie and Mike McDonald and wife, Sandra of Leesburg; four brothers, Frank Faircloth of Dawson, Russell Stroud and wife, Hazel of Lee County, A.B. Stroud and wife, Carol of Lee County and Randy Stroud and wife, Sharon of Lee County; two sisters, Connie Jones and husband, Tommy of Lee County and Shirlene Baker and husband, Tom of Tallahassee, FL; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

ALBANY - Bill McGhee, 66, of 159 N. E. Russell St., Warwick, died Saturday, January 7, 2006, at Ashburn Health Care Center.

Born October 30, 1939, in Albany, Mr. McGhee attended Dougherty County public schools. He was a retired truck driver with Swift Chemical Company. He was a member of the Golden Key Club and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Nelva Jones-McGhee of Warwick; two daughters, Jennifer McGhee of Warwick and Pamethia Graham of Albany; his mother, Estella McGhee of Albany; one sister, Ada Marshall of Albany; four grandchildren, Jeremy Graham and Justin Graham, both of Albany, Brandon McGhee and Brianna McGhee, both of Warwick.
The family of Mr. McGhee will be at the residence of his sister, Ada Marshall, 1934 South Riverview Circle here in Albany.

CAMILLA - Joyce Ann Bash Crosby, 63, of Sale City died Monday, January 9, 2006, at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.

Born May 17, 1942, in Lancaster, Ohio, Mrs. Crosby was a librarian for the DeSoto Trail Regional Library in Camilla and the Carnegie Library in Pelham. She ran the DeSoto Trail Bookmobile with her sister-in-law, Wynell Martin, for over 25 years, serving Mitchell, Worth, and Baker Counties. Mrs. Crosby enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Bash and a brother, Bobby Bash.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby G. Crosby of Sale City; two sons, Ron Crosby and wife, Jeanne of Sale City and Brian Crosby and wife, Malissa of Hartsfield; two daughters, Amy Grantham and husband, Robert of Doerun and Lisa Clark and husband, David of Sale City; her mother, Eileen Bash of Winter Haven, FL; three sisters, Dixie Rizer of Winter Haven, FL, Diane Henriquez of Bradley, FL, and Cindy DeHaven of Auburndale, FL; a brother, Danny Bash of Mulberry, FL; five grandsons, Jason Crosby, Bradley Grantham, Zachary Crosby, Adam Crosby and Turner Clark; four granddaughters, Brooke Crosby, Molli Crosby, Erica Grantham and Audrey Clark; and a host of nieces and nephews.

FITZGERALD - Carl E. Findley Sr., 88, of Fitzgerald died Monday, January 9, 2006, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Steve Waldorf and the Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. Eulogies by Dr. Carl E. Findley Jr. and Mae Wilcox.
Mr. Findley was born March 24, 1917, in Irwin County to the late Aaron Melton and Gertrude McCurdy Findley. He was retired manager of Halperin's Department Store in Fitzgerald. After retiring, he worked at J Englemann LTD Men's Store in Fitzgerald and the Big Store in Tifton. Mr. Findley was a member of the American Legion, an avid golfer and a member of Central United Methodist Church. He got great pleasure spending time with his grandsons, enjoyed home cooking and smoking his pipe.
Mr. Findley is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Carl E. Findley Jr. and Judy of Sylvester; daughter, Gloria L. Findley of Tifton and two grandchildren, Carl E. Findley III and Aaron Findley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Warren Findley.
