The graveside funeral service of Marion T. Pantone, 73, of 205 Kinchafoonee Creek Road, Leesburg, who died August 25, 2004 at his residence, will be conducted Friday at 10:00 P.M. at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Mike Zwemke will officate.
A native of Randolph County, Ga., Mr. Pantone had resided in Albany most of his life. Following his retirement from Coats and Clark after thirty four years, he was employed as a security guard. Mr. Pantone was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Albany and was a former Mason and Shriner. Mr. Pantone was preceded in death by his wives, Grace Pantone and Ella Mae Pantone.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Myra Duncan of Daleville, Al., four sons, Wesley Pantone and his wife Jackie of Leesburg, Howard Pantone and his wife, Dot, and Kerry Pantone all of Enterprise, Al. and Rodney Pantone of Puducah, Ky., four step-sons, David E. Jackson, Sr., of Leesburg, Willie Frank Jackson and Jimmy Jackson both of Chester, Va. and Horace Neal Jackson of Palmdale, Ca., Three step-daughters, Lavonia Seawright of Quincy, Fl., Teresa J. Cannon of Sylvester and Faye Horne of Leesburg, fourteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and neices and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. today (Thursday) at Mathews Funeral Home.
The family is at the residence of Wesley and Jackie Pantone, 156 Kinchafoonee Creek Road, Leesburg, Ga. 31763.
Those desiring may make contributions to Hasan Shrine Temple's Transportation Fund, 1822 Palmyra Rd., Albany, Ga. 31701.

The funeral service of William L. Ashberry, 85, of 4718 Palm Avenue, Albany, who died Thursday, December 23, 2004, at his residence, will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy Lowery will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.
A native of Coffee County AL, Mr. Ashberry moved to Albany in 1952 from Coffee County, AL, to work in building the Marine Base, he later worked as a finished carpenter and then Superintendant for Builders Homes, building a house per day. He retired in 1981 and lived out his life in Putney, GA. Mr. Ashberry was of the Methodist Faith. He also served in World War II in the Navy on Siapen Island in the Pacific.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Murl Holmes Ashberry of Albany, three sons, William Ashberry, Jr., Randolph Ashberry and Louis Bradford Ashberry all of Albany, two daughters, Willie Marie Ashberry of Albany and Mary Ann Crowder of Leesburg, one brother, Orbery Ashberry of Brundidge, AL, one sister, Ada Lee Chancey, Belle Glade, FL, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service of Audrey Louise Long, 84, of 1904 Palmyra Road, Albany, who died Monday, February 14, 2005 at Palmyra Nursing Home, will be conducted Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Al Wilburn and Rev. Glenn Poston will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.
A native of Henry County, AL, Mrs. Long had resided in Albany since 1957 moving here from Donalsonville, GA. She was retired from Winn-Dixie and attended Baptist Worship Center. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband,Thomas E. Long, grandson, Alan Monday, great-great-grandson, Angel Medina, two sons-in-law, Delmer Monday and Roger Paulk, three brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include her two sons and their wives, Thomas V. and Jean Long of Dawson and Talmadge D. and Lilly Long of Atlanta, four daughters, Callie Sue Monday of Dothan, AL, Annie Carol Jones and her husband, Howard, of Charleston, SC, Patsy J. Paulk of Albany and Catherine Corbitt and her husband, Delwyn, of Murphreesboro, TN, 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
The family is at the residence of Gail Wilson, 1534 Dorough Avenue, Albany, GA 31705.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Lung Association, 1104-B West 3rd Avenue, Albany, GA 31707.

The funeral service of Horace E. Haire, 75, of 114-B Henrietta Court, Leesburg, who died May 4, 2005, at his residence will be conducted Friday, May 6, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Revs. Jay Ridenhour, Bernie Bannin and Bobby Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.
A native of Miller Co., GA, Mr. Haire had resided in Leesburg for the past eleven years moving there from Dougherty County. He was of the Pentacostal Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Lugene Haire of Leesburg, a son and his wife, Stan and Dianne Haire of Colquitt, GA, three daughters, Sandra Fitzgerald and her husband, Terry, of Paris, TX, Joyce Fitzgerald and her husband, Jackie, of Leesburg and Charlotte Haire of Alpharetta, GA, a brother, Tom Haire of Colquitt, GA, a sister, Kittie Mae Davis of Colquitt, GA, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The graveside funeral service of Mildred M. Dowling, 93, of Albany, who died Thursday, November 25, 2005, at Albany Health Care will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 p.m at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Valdosta, GA.
A native of Ozark, AL, Mrs. Dowling had resided in Albany since 1953 moving here from Ozark, AL. She was a retired computer clerk at The Marine Corps Logistics Base and was a member of Morningside United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dowling Was a Past District President of West Florida Power Squadron Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben. L. Dowling.
Survivors include her son, Lewis Dowling of Albany and several nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service of Randall Lewis Summerlin, Sr., 49, of Newton, GA., who died Friday January 20, 2006 at his residence will be conducted Monday, January 23 , 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. A. B. Stroud will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens.
A native of Albany., GA., Mr. Summerlin had lived all of life in Albany before moving to Newton in 2003. He worked with Coats and Clark for 30 years, was of the Baptist Faith and an avid deer hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn Summerlin of Newton, mother, Shirley Summerlin of Leesburg , father, Robert Lewis of Port Charlotte, FL., three sons, Randall Summerlin, Jr. And wife Julie of Leesburg, Shawn Summerlin and wife April of Sylvester and Jason Wayne Summerlin and wife Tabitha of Albany, a daughter, Sherri Summerlin of Newton, a stepdaughter, Misty Bennett of Newton, a stepson, Derrick Cook of Newton, a brother Larry Summerlin of Leesburg, two loving “brothers”, Tommy Corley and David Thompson. Two grandsons, and eight granddaughters and several nieces and nephews,
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The memorial service for Clinton Thomas Porter, 51, Of Sylvester who died Thursday, July 1, 2004 will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at his residence at 554 Henry Road, Sylvester, Ga..
Mr. Porter was born March 30, 1953 in Sylvester, Ga. and had lived most of his life in Sylvester and Albany. He served in the U.S. Army for six years and was a self employed painter. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Tracy Porter.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Porter of Sylvester; Mother, Mary Arlene Porter of Albany; two sons, Clinton Michael Porter of Morgan and Matthew Thomas Porter of Albany; three step-daughters, Gwen Turner, Tammy Ryan and Lisa Bryant all of Worth County; five brothers, Richard Earnest Porter of Atlanta, James Marshall Porter, Johnny Val Porter, Thomas Tracy Porter and William Clyde Porter all of Albany; two sisters, Tina H. DeJager of Atlanta and Nancy L. Porter of Albany. Seven grandchildren and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

The funeral service of Mrs. Frieda Beaty Lane, 91, of Albany, who died September 18, 2004, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Haefs and Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The daughter of Louis Perry Beaty and Memphis Adams Beaty, Mrs. Lane was born in Hamilton County, Fl. and grew up in Jennings, Fl. She lived in Warwick for thirteen years, before moving to Albany in 1963.
Mrs. Lane was a homemaker and retired from Jamison Bedding Company but most of all, she was known as "MaMa" to everyone. She was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and The Homebound Ministry. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her husband, John Herbert Lane.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Billy Stewart of Albany, a son and daughter-in-law, John L. and Ellen Lane of Albany, five grandchildren, Blake Stewart of Albany, Brian Stewart and his wife, Lisa, of Monroe, Ga., Angie Tanner and her husband, Jeff of Albany, Bo Lane and his wife, Tracy of Albany, Missy Pilgrim and her husband, Chris, of Albany and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Grace Pilgrim, Cyrus Lane Stewart and Evan Heith Stewart.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. today(Monday) at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral services of Agnes Inez Henley, 83, who died Friday, October 15, 2004 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center will be conducted Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Walter Flint will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Mitchell County.
A native of Houston County, Al., Mrs. Henley had resided in Albany since 1945 and had lived in Sylvester for the past 18 months. She was a homemaker, a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was receiptient of The Dougherty CountyAward in 1997.
Survivors include three sons, Wade Parramore of Albany, Jerry Parramore of Cartersville, Ga. and Larry Parramore of Statesboro, Ga., a daughter, Rebecca Ellen Brown of Leesburg, a brother, Morris Aman, Jr. of Dothan, Al.. A number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

Phyllis Moore Thames of 120 Laurel Drive, Albany, died at her residence and entered her eternal home in heaven on Thursday, December 30, 2004. She had bravely battled a malignant brain tumor for sixteen months.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Byne Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. John Tarrer, Charlie Brown and Keith Travis officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
The deceased was born in Macon, GA, on October 20, 1945 and was raised in Jones County, Haddock, GA. Prior to moving to Albany twenty-six years ago, she had lived in Augusta, Macon, Demorest and Doraville following her husband in his medical career.
Mrs. Thames was a 1963 graduate of Jones County High School in Gray, GA. She received her Nursing Degree from the Macon Hospital School of Nursing in 1966 and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia in 1969. It was at MCG that she met her husband, whom she married on September 6, 1969, in Haddock, GA.
Mrs. Thames taught at the Macon Hospital School of Nursing from 1970-1971 then worked at Habersham County Hospital from 1971-1973. After the birth of their first child, Mrs. Thames became a homemaker, mother, and mentor, raising four children in a Christian home. She always set a godly example for them as well as all others with whom she came into contact.
Mrs. Thames was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church. The true desire of her heart in her walk with Jesus was to see others saved through mission work. She served as the Director of the Womans Missionary Union at both Byne and Sherwood Baptist Church, as well as the coordinator for Backyard Bible Clubs every summer. She was a member of the Adult-Five, Co-Ed Sunday School Class at Byne.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. F. Maynard Thames, Jr., three daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Drew Broadaway and Abby and Rusty Hayes, all of Albany and Anna and Jeff Randa of Athens, one son, Jonathan Thames of Albany, a granddaughter, Haley Broadaway, a grandson, Ryder Hayes, parents, Jesse and Hazel Moore of Haddock, sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Tommy Noles of Milledgeville, mother-in-law, Juanita Thames of Macon, as well as four nieces, four great-nephews and three great-nieces.
Pallbearers will be Larry Griffin, Lonnie Mathis, Harry Mauldin, Tommy Tanner, Buster Wasden and Sonny Willis. Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Bean, Phil Bean, Al Davis, Eddie Long, Tommy Scarborough, David Thornton and Randy Tucker.
The family requests that the Byne WMU and Adult Five Sunday School Department sit together as a body.
Flowers will be accepted, however, the family prefers that if memorials are desired, they be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Byne Memorial Baptist Church, 2832 Ledo Road, Albany, GA 31707-1248 or to the Gideons International, P. O. Box 1823, Albany, GA 31702.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
