ALBANY - Chester Allen Gibbs, 89, of 2106 Schley Ave., died Monday, March 10, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow in Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev. Ray Bowman will officiate.
A native of Ty Ty, GA, Mr. Gibbs had lived in Albany for many years and was retired from Sears Roebuck after 26 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. Mr. Gibbs received the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the American Service Medal. Mr. Gibbs was a 1933 graduate of Ty Ty High School and was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church for 47 years.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Gibbs, of Albany; son, Melvin A. Gibbs and his wife Laverne of Leesburg; daughter, Shirley Gibbs Jackson and her husband Stanley of Cuthbert; sister, Louise Wilson of Tifton; three grandchildren, Michelle Gibbs Lewis, Eric Jackson and Patrick Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8 PM today at Kimbrell-Stern.

ALBANY - Margarette Grimes Greer, 87, of 212 Flowing Well Road, Albany, died Monday, March 10, 2003, at Palmyra Nursing Home.
The funeral service will be held graveside Tuesday, 2 PM, at Mother's Home Church Cemetery in Miller County.
A native of Miller County, Mrs. Greer had lived in Albany since 1942. She was a retired private duty nurse and a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Greer attended First Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Agnes Grimes Smith, of Albany, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the residence of Agnes Grimes Smith, 230 Flowing Well Road, Albany.

ALBANY - The graveside funeral services of Roger LaDon Webb, 57, of Pelham, formerly of Albany, will be conducted Wednesday 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Rebecca. The Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.
A native of Pasco Co., FL, Mr. Webb had resided in Pelham since 1999, moving from Albany. He was retired from Lykes Brothers and was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Dawn Marie Nahlen of Kodiak, Alaska, Nikki Hirsch and Brandy Webb, both of Pelham; three brothers, Homer Webb of Lee County, James Webb of Worth County and Grady Webb of Level Plains, AL; a sister, Mildred W. Morris of Americus; two grandchildren, Nicholas Hirsch and Brittney Hirsch.

Patricia Hunter Pedersen
CAMILLA - Patricia Hunter Pedersen, 70, died Thursday, February 27, 2003, at her home in Escondido, CA.
She was born March 27, 1932, the youngest child of the late Clyde Rich Hunter and Edwin J. Hunter in Colquitt. Mrs. Pedersen graduated from Mitchell County High School, Camilla, then attended the University of Georgia in Athens. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
She was a descendent of James Bush, one of the first pioneers in Southwest Georgia. Her grandfather, Dr. W.E. Hunter, practiced medicine in Colquitt. In 1903, he built and owned the Hunter Hotel, which has since been restored by the Jinks family and is now known as the Tarra Inn.
Most of Mrs. Pedersen's life was spent in merchandising, first as a buyer for Rich's in Atlanta, then as a buyer in the Designer Shop at May Co., Los Angeles, California. She later opened her own shop of Ladies Fashions in Palm Springs, CA. Mrs. Pedersen was also a licensed Real Estate Agent.
Survivors include two sons, James Woodard Jr. of Escondido, CA, and David Woodard of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Daniel Woodard of Los Angeles, CA, Jena Woodard and Sara Woodard of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Emory J. Hunter of Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Eugene Hale of Newton and Mrs. Dan Royal of Camilla; five nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pedersen was an Episcopalian.
The body is to be cremated.
