COLQUITT - Beatrice W. Varnadoe, 83, of Colquitt died Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at Miller County Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Colquitt United Methodist Church with interment in Gordon Cemetery. The Rev. Matt Stewart and the Rev. Tim Mock will officiate.

Born June 13, 1920, in Miller County, Ms. Varnadoe was a homemaker. She was a member of Colquitt United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, June Sheffield and Ruth Trawick, both of Jackson, GA, and Sandy Rathel of Colquitt; three sons, Aaron W. "Bubber" Varnadoe, David Varnadoe and Ken Varnadoe, all of Colquitt; six sisters, Bill Chauncey of Albany, Ophelia Briones, Runell Dugan, Wilma Young of Colquitt, Geraldine Garner of Leesburg and Evelyn Best of Wolcottville, IN; two brothers, Henry Whitaker and Charles Whitaker, both of Colquitt; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Varnadoe in 1997 and one daughter, Jimmie M. Varnadoe.

CUMMING - Claire Frost Dickinson, 80, of Cumming, formerly of Albany, died Thursday, October 2, 2003, at her residence.
A native of Barker, NY, Mrs. Dickinson was the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Harriet Gardner Frost. A registered nurse, Mrs. Dickinson worked at the Buffalo General Hospital and was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. Mrs. Dickinson was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Frost Dickinson, MD.
Surviving are her two sons, Ray and Susan Dickinson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, David and Karol Dickinson of Cumming; three grandchildren, Ben and Bill Dickinson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Ashton Dickinson of Cumming.
Memorial services will be held Monday, October 6, 2003, at 11 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit with the Rev. Melanie A. Mudge officiating. As honorary escort, the State Court Judges.

Born January 9, 1944 in Irwin County, Mr. Merritt had lived in Sylvester for the last five years and Worth County the last 15 years. He was employed with Miller Brewing Company for 23 years. He was a member of IAM & A W Brewery Local # 2699 and Pine Bluff Baptist Church in Albany.
Survivors include his wife, Judith (Judy) Gibbs Merritt of Sylvester; three sons, Lamar D. (Ashley) Merritt Jr. of Albany, Danny R. Merritt of Statham and Bryan A. Merritt of Sylvester; one daughter, Melanie M. (Danny) Foster of Fitzgerald; two brothers, Dan L. Merritt Jr. of Alabama and Benny Merritt of Ocilla; two sisters, Charlene Ross of Albany and Marlene Morris of Ocilla; six grandchildren.

RALEIGH, N.C. - Ernest Aron Williams, 84, of Raleigh died Thursday, October 2, 2003, at Raleigh Community Hospital.
A native of Albany, GA, and born August 12, 1919, he was the son of the late Simon A. Williams and Amanda Kelley Williams. Ernest served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and retired from John Deere Company after thirty years of service. He was a member of Layden Memorial United Methodist Church in Raleigh. Ernest was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Katherine "Kay" D. Williams in 2000 and by his two stepsons, Richard M. Brewer and Donald I. Brewer.
Surviving is a daughter, Debra W. Williams and husband, Steve Williams of Raleigh; sons, Barry A. Brewer of Raleigh and Gary Brewer of Atlanta; sisters, Janet Scupham of Norfolk, Va., and Ruth Keiser of Albany, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral rites will be held Monday at 11 a.m., October 6, 2003, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Raleigh, NC.
