ALBANY - The graveside funeral service of Doris Bentley Adkinson, 77, of 617 8th Ave., Apt.-B., who died Saturday, November 29, 2003 will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Hagadorn will officiate.
A native of Baker County, Mrs. Adkinson had lived in Albany most of her life. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Huston W. Adkinson.
Survivors include her son, Herbert Doyle Adkinson Sr. of Albany; three grandchildren, Herbert Doyle Adkinson Jr., Maria Kay Adkinson and Pam Lee Adkinson; and three great-grandchildren.

DAWSON - Ninarene Charolette Haley Williams, 68, of 2100 Colquitt Ave., Albany, died Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Palmyra Medical Centers in Albany.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Greater Pine Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, the Rev. R.N. Elzia Jr. Pastor will officiate. Burial follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery in Albany.
She attended the public schools of Sullivan County, Tennessee. She was a homemaker.
Ninarene leaves to cherish her loving memories, a devoted husband, Ret. 1st Sgt. E-8 Elbert "Sgt." Williams of Albany; one daughter, Weatau Ann Williams of Albany; three sons, Elbert A. "Tex" Williams of Cocoa, FL, Ernest James Williams of Albany, and Joseph Loyd Williams of Athens; two sisters, Rejaunia Pope of Seaside, CA, and Weatau Ann Barsh of Chicago, IL; one sister, Charmaine Haley preceded her in death. In addition to above she is survived by three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Ernest Williams (Mary) of Florence, SC, Henry Williams (Eddy) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and James Barsh of Chicago, IL; 14 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. DONALSONVILLE - We regret to announce the passing of Carolyn Wiley Jones, 55, of Jakin, who passed away Saturday morning, November 29, 2003 at her residence.
Graveside funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Ashford City Cemetery in Ashford, AL at 2 p.m. EDT with the Dr. James Hilburn officiating.
Ms. Jones was born in Quincy, FL, on April 10, 1948 to the late Frank Wiley and Erma H. Livingston. She had lived here most of her life and was a cashier. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Wiley and a sister, Joann Helms.
Ms. Jones leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Kim Mathis and her husband, Ray of Alabaster, AL; two granddaughters, Rachel and Callie Mathis of Alabaster, AL; her mother, Erma H. Livingston of Jakin; two brothers, Jerry Wiley of Gunbarrel, TX, and Don Wiley of Iron City; one sister, Pat Temples of Donalsonville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Emmett Fulton Short
SHELLMAN - Emmett Fulton Short, 82, of Jacksonville, FL, died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. The graveside funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. from East View Cemetery in Shellman. The Rev. Olin Johnson will officiate.
Mr. Short was born December 16, 1920 in Americus, son of the late Louic and Leisla Fulton Short. He grew up in Shellman before moving to Jacksonville, where he was a retired accountant and insurance salesman. He was a member of the Downtown Jacksonville Kiwanis Club for over 30 years. Mr. Short was a graduate of Duke University, and was an Army Airdrop Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Greene Short; two sisters, Annelle S. Stokes and Lovice S. McGuoirk, all of Jacksonville; two nieces, two great-nieces and two great-nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home.
