DONALSONVILLE - We regret to announce the passing of George David Whittaker Jr. (Babe), 82, of Donalsonville, GA, who passed away at the Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus, GA on Saturday, December 24, 2005.
Funeral services for Mr. Whittaker will be held today (Tuesday) at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, with the Rev. Eric Boomer officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville.
Mr. Whittaker was born on May 22, 1923 in Seminole County to the late George David Whittaker Sr. and Ester Odom Whittaker. Mr. Babe worked in farm related jobs that included Seminole Nitrogen, Tide Products, and Mosely Tractor Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. Mr. Whittaker had lived in Seminole County all of his life and attended the Nazarene Church.
Mr. Whittaker leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Grace Faircloth Whittaker of Donalsonville; three sons, Glenn Whittaker and wife Dale, George Wayne Whittaker and wife Glinda, and Kennie Emerson Whittaker and wife Donna, all of Donalsonville; two daughters, Joyce Faye Whittaker Franklin and husband W.C. of Colquitt and Delores Whittaker Tyler and husband Larry of Donalsonville; a sister, Flora Elmore and husband Charles of Donalsonville; and 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Adam Tyler, Jeremy Whittaker, Darren Franklin, Heath Banks, Ray Williams, and Brad Bellomy. Mr. Whittaker's grandson, Adam Tyler, who is a member of the U.S. Air Force will present the flag at the graveside.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Magnolia Manor in Americus.

Lula Mae Wright
PELHAM - Lula Mae Wright, 86, of Pelham, died Sunday, December 25, 2005 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Zion Grove Church Cemetery. The Revs. Franklin Russ and Jessie Alligood officiating.
Born in Vidalia, on May 12, 1919, Mrs. Wright is the daughter of the late Rowe Crosby and Martha Annie Darden Crosby. She was the wife of Mants T. Wright. She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Thompson and Rosaland Kelley of Meigs; and 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a son, Charles Wright; five brothers, Willie Crosby, Franke Crosby, Otis Crosby, Henry Crosby, and Anzie Crosby.
Pallbearers are Mrs. Wright grandsons; and honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Thomas, Luther Wright, Casey Russ, Douglas Norton, David Clark and Larry Sellers.
Visitation will be held today (Tuesday) from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home.

SYLVESTER - Patricia (Patty) Porter Bozeman, 77, of Sylvester died Monday, December 12, 2005, at Carolina House of Cary, NC.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery. Dr. Tom Jacobs will officiate.
Born August 18, 1928, in Worth County, to Roy Liston Porter and Josie Will Taylor Porter, Mrs. Bozeman had lived in Worth County most of her life. She was a graduate of Sylvester High School and Valdosta State University. Mrs. Bozeman retired in 1986 after 31 years of teaching school. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School Class, and was the Adult 4 Department Secretary for many years. She taught Sunday school in the Primary Department, served on the First Baptist Historical Society, a member of the W.M.U and was leader of the Kate White/Pearl Tobb Group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. (Billy) Bozeman Sr. on December 17, 1986.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Bozeman and Doug Weisenberg of Cary, NC; son, William D. (Butch) and Susan Bozeman Jr. of Mansfield; sister, Christine P. (Tina) Gleaton of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Brandon and Bianco Bozeman, Wyatt and Drew Weisenberg; one great-grandson, Dylan Bozeman; a number of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Crawford Edgar Little
SYLVESTER - Crawford Edgar Little, 94, of Sylvester died Monday, December 12, 2005, in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2005, at First Baptist Church in Sylvester. Dr. Tom Jacobs will officiate.
The family will receive friends today from 6:30-8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home.
Mr. Little was born September 30, 1911, in Franklin County, the son of Crawford Edgar Little and Lucy Conger Little. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1939 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He was employed by the Farmers Home Administration USDA as a county supervisor and worked in Elberton, Fort Valley, Toccoa, Donalsonville and Greenville before being transferred to Sylvester in 1948.
In 1957, he was the recipient of the USDA Superior Service Award in Washington, D.C. He was one of only three Farmers Home Administration Supervisors in the United States to receive this award that year. He was recognized for his intense supervision and dedicated leadership in assisting a large number of families to become successful farm owners and operators.
After retiring from the Farmers Home Administration in1971, he joined the real estate department of Worth Insurance Agency, where he became the first Realtor in Worth County to be named to the Million Dollar Club of the Albany Board of Realtors.
He attended the First Baptist Church and was a member of the Baker Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Belva Bennett Little of Sylvester; his son, Crawford Edgar Little III; daughter, Jane Little Gray and her husband, Joseph Bowie Gray Jr. of Tifton; a sister, Anna Bell Tabor of Decatur and four grandchildren, Mary Anne Little, Laura Little, Ann Gray and Bo Gray.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Peyton Little and Hedge Little.

Born April 28, 1913, in Acree, Ga., to O.E. and Fannie Mayo Tucker, Mr. Tucker was the retired owner of Tifton Roofing and Sheet Metal for 55 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, served in the National Guard for 15 years and was a Navy Seabee during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher of Brookfield Baptist Church, Eastside Baptist Church and Northside Baptist Church. He was a member of the Georgia Cattlemen's Association; founding member of Alapaha Baptist Church, Eastside Baptist Church and Lauderdale Baptist Church in Lauderdale, MS. He built steeples for Brookfield Baptist Church, Eastside Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Northside Baptist Church, Alapaha Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, among others. He was also a former member of Tift County High Athletic Boosters. He loved sports, Tift County Blue Devils, Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, B.F. Tucker and three sisters, Hermine Thompson, Sarah Brookshire and Frances McDonald.
Survivors include his wife, Elna Varnam Tucker of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Mayo and Lori Tucker of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen and Joe Mercer of Albany and Cindy and Don Milner of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren, Marc Mercer, Jolie Grace and husband, Zane, Tarah Scarberry and husband, James, Kellie Tucker, Cody Tucker, Curt Milner and Clint Milner; seven great-grandchildren.
