CAMILLA - Marjie Fambro Newmons, 75, of Sylvester, formerly of Camilla, died Friday, January 13, 2006 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Camilla Presbyterian Church, with burial in Oakview Cemetery. The Rev. Don West and the Rev. Robert Baggs will officiate.
Born in July 16, 1930 in Mitchell County, Mrs. Newmons was a homemaker and member of the Camilla Presbyterian Church. She was the daughter of the late William Early and Leitha Connell Batchelor.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Weaver and husband, Billy of Camilla; Beverly Miller and husband, Denis Barry of Sylvester and Teresa Godbee and husband, Thomas of Sylvester; a son, William Lee Fambro and wife, Heidi of Sylvester; a brother, Larry Batchelor and wife, Geraldine of Ellijay; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 p.m.-8 p.m. today (Sunday) at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home.

ALBANY - Mary B. Rhodes, 94, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at Lee County Health Care.
Her funeral service will be Monday 11 AM at Floral Memory Gardens. Minister Sam Hartline officiating.
A native of Worth County, Mrs. Rhodes had resided most of her life in Albany. She was a former resident of 9th Ave. and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Rhodes was retired from Belk's Department Store working in the China Department for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Rhodes and a daughter, Ophelia Carmichael.
Survivors include her sons, Curt Rhodes and his wife, Pat of Albany, Warren Rhodes and his wife, Mary of Minneapolis, MN; 4 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillie Bell McLemore of Albany.
The family will receive friends today(Sunday) 3 PM to 5 PM at Kimbrell-Stern and will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Curt Rhodes, 1815 Pineknoll Lane.

ALBANY - Jasper A. "Archie" Lovett, 78, of Albany, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Hall & Hall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Sickling officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.
Mr. Lovett was born August 9, 1927 in Worth County, GA, to the late Henry Lovett and Viola Hall Lovett. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a retired Master Electrician. After retirement, Mr. Lovett enjoyed working in his flowers. Mr. Lovett was a member of Woodmen of the World and a member of the First Baptist Church of Acree.
Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Allie Fullmore, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Evelyn Fletcher Lovett; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Ann and Charles Hembree of Albany, and Sherry and Peter Silvi of Baconton; one brother, Jehu Lovett of Byron; sister, Tincie Hammock of Macon; four grandchildren, Chuck Hembree, Scott Hembree, Shay Goodson, and Christina Silvi; and nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

DONALSONVILLE - We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Virginia Coleburn Minter, 86, of Dothan, AL, and formerly of Jakin, who passed away Friday evening, January 13, 2006 as a result of an accidental drowning.
Funeral services for Mrs. Minter will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Jakin Baptist Church, with Dr. Calvin Arnold, the Rev. Bob Gross and the Rev. Danny Quincey officiating. Interment will follow at the Jakin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held today (Monday) from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Minter was born in Bolivia, North Carolina, on October 8, 1919, to the late William Burton Jessie and Mamie Parks Coleburn. She graduated from Berry College in 1942 with a B.S. degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Minter received her Masters Degree from Auburn University in 1968 and then completed her six year degree in 1970, also from Auburn. She taught in the Jakin and Early Co. Schools before moving to the Seminole County School System in 1970, from which she retired in the early 1980s. In all Mrs. Minter gave 30 years of her life to teaching students in the area schools. She was married to Branson Cyril Minter for 51 years. He preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Minter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dothan, AL, and of the Martha Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Minter leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Cynthia Corbin and her husband, Charles of Cottondale, FL, Dell Shingler and her husband, Bill of Donalsonville, and Ruth Moore and her husband, Carl of Dothan, AL; one sister, Lola Stubbs of Moultrie; seven grandchildren, Ginger Reese, Connie and Randy Corbin, Matthew Williams, Kevin and Nikki Moore, Carlee and Andrew Cook, and Billy and Jim Shingler; as well as six great-grandchildren, Branson and Bradley Andrews, Colton Corbin, Conner Cook, and Ginni and Lexi Badger.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew Williams, Kevin Moore, Billy Shingler, Jim Shingler, Andrew Cook, Randy Corbin, Branson Andrews, and Bradley Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Martha Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Dothan, AL, and former fellow teachers.

CAMILLA - William Thomas "Tommy" Rucker, 49, of Leesburg, died Friday, January 13, 2006 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Born December 12, 1956 in Dougherty County, Mr. Rucker was a member of the Baconton Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Riverview Academy and a 30 year employee of Georgia Power Co. Mr. Rucker was involved in the youth sports programs for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Rucker, Sr. and a brother, William Joseph Rucker, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Irvin Rucker of Leesburg; four sons, Matthew Joseph Rucker, Thomas Brett Rucker, William Bradley Rucker and Daniel Brooks Rucker, all of Leesburg; his mother, Martha Eason Rucker of Baconton; three sisters, Charlotte Daniels Belcher of Baconton, Jody Rucker Lawton and husband, Sam of Charleston, SC, and Myna Rucker Payne and her husband, Ray of Newnan; brother, William Randolph Rucker of Byron; mother-in-law, Dorothy Irvin of Baconton; sister-in-law, Kathy Shiver and husband, Terry of Baconton; aunt, Vera Eason of Eastman; and numerous nieces, nephews, one great-niece and several great-nephews.
