TUCKER - W. Grady Wade, 77, of Doraville died May 30, 2004, from acute leukemia. He was born in Crisp County to Herschel and Viola Wade. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a 35 year employee of John Deere Company. Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Kelly Wade.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Ellis Wade; his daughter, Jeannie Terry of Atlanta; his grandsons, Justin Bruce Terry of Jacksonville,Fla., and Adam Wade Terry of Atlanta; his sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Edd Hall of Arabi; nephews, Derwin Hall and family of Arabi, and Jason Hall and family of Dunwoody.
It was Mr. Wade's desire to donate his body to Emory University for medical research.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, 4400 N. Peachtree Road, Atlanta, Saturday, June 5, 2004, at 11 a.m. with visitation and lunch to follow. (www.fba.org).
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children), 4900 Lewis Rd., Stone Mountain, GA 30083 (www.fodac.org.) This was Mr. Wade's favorite charity.
