ALBANY - Mrs. Anna Tebeau Jones Bruton, 80, of 2010 W. Broad Ave. in Albany died October 2, 2006, at her residence.

A native of Albany, Mrs. Bruton was a member of First United Methodist Church, a 1943 graduate of Albany High and attended Valdosta State College. Mrs. Bruton worked for a number of years at Albany Floral Co. and Gillespie Interiors. She was a member of the Albany Garden Club, Junior League and Doublegate Country Club. Mrs. Bruton was also an avid Atlanta Brave's fan.
Survivors include her sons, John Page Nelson (Nick) Bruton III of Albany, Joseph Carlton of Albany; daughter, Claire Page Baynard of Albany; grandchildren, John Page Nelson Bruton IV, Ashley Page Bruton, and Lindsay Page Baynard; sisters, Hulda Vallotton of Atlanta and Helen P. Jones of North Carolina.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 PM until 7 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.

DALLAS, Texas - Chester William Green (Willy Boy, Ba) was born in Albany, GA, on January 31, 1943 and passed away suddenly of an aneurysm in Dallas, Texas on September 19, 2006.
Bill had a huge heart and loved being surrounded by family and friends. He was a friend to the friendless and a care taker to those he dearly loved. "Bigger than life" was spoken at his memorial service to describe Bill. He enjoyed a rare steak, good conversation and practical jokes. His family settled on the North Shore of Chicago when he was eleven. He graduated from the New Trier High School in 1961 where he lettered in baseball, basketball and football. He attended Southern Methodist University and later graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dallas became his home where he was a successful businessman in sales and marketing. He has many friends from all over and emailed daily, keeping in touch with his buddies.
He leaves behind his wife, Sheila; daughters, Terry Ewton and Michelle Michelle Nicely (Daniel); stepson, Brian Gallia; step-granddaughter, Allie Gallia; father, Chester Green; sister,
Susan Findley Baten (Greg); nephew, Ryan Findley; aunts, Mrs. T.B. Hambrick and Mrs. James Knox of Albany, GA; uncle; Hugh Moore of Brunswick, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Green and niece, Katie Findley.
A memorial service was held in Dallas on September 23, 2006. His earlier commitment to Jesus Christ reassures us that we will see him in Heaven.

ALBANY - Col. James R. "Jim" McDonald, USAF Retired, 68, of Lee County, died Monday, October 2, 2006 at his residence.
The memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors with full military honors.
A native of Poulan, Mr. McDonald was born to James Andrew McDonald and Clifford Thompson McDonald. Jim was an ordained Methodist Minister when he left the clergy and went into service with the United States Air Force. He was assigned to McConnell AFB, KS and attended the Missile Launch Officer's course at Vandenberg. He was then assigned as a Deputy Missile Commander at a Titan II missile site. Mr. McDonald became the first First Lieutenant to command a combat missile crew in the Strategic Air Command (SAC). Later, he was assigned to the First Strategic Air Division, Vandenberg AFB, CA as the Executive Assistant to the commanding general. He was then assigned to Squadron Officers' School at Maxwell AFB, AL as the wing commander of a group. After attending the Air Command and Staff College, he was assigned to the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA where he received a Masters' Degree in national Security Affairs. Mr. McDonald then attended the Foreign Language institute to learn Hebrew and Arabic.
After graduate school, he was posted to Headquarters Strategic Air Command as the Special Advisor to the Commander In Chief Strategic Air Command where he negotiated with Israel and Egypt on the terms for military separation as a member of the Camp David Accords team. He was also the SAC negotiator for the SALT II talks in Switzerland where he helped set the guidelines for cruise missiles to be carried on heavy bombers. Mr. McDonald was then assigned as the Military Air Attache to the United States Embassy, Tel Aviv, Israel.
Mr. McDonald was later assigned as the Director for Middle Eastern Affairs, Office of the Secretary of Defense. He later formed a business with a partner, specializing in sales to the Department of Defense of audio visual information systems to the U.S. government as well as foreign governments with U.S. approval.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his son, James F. McDonald of Sterling, VA; a brother, Russell C. McDonald and his wife Barbara Ann of Lee County; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

MARIANNA, Fla. - David Lee Trent Jr., 24, of Marianna died Friday, September 29, 2006. He was born in Albany, GA, where he lived before moving to Marianna in 1989.

ALBANY - Lynelle K. Whittlesey, 79, of Albany died Monday, October 2, 2006.
Her memorial service will be Thursday 11 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The Rev. James R. Bullion will officiate. Her remains will be cremated.
A native of Albany, she attended schools in Albany, and graduated from Albany High School in the Class of 1943. Along with her husband, they were one of the Founding Families of St. Patrick's
Episcopal Church, and she remained a Communicant until her death. Mrs. Whittlesey was chairman of the Altar Guild for over 25 years, and she helped make many of the vestments of St. Patrick's. She also sang in the choir, taught Sunday School Class, was a member of the Daughters of the King, the Episcopal Church Women, and served as a Delegate to the Diocesan Convention. After her graduation from High School, she attended Young Harris College, the University of Georgia, and graduated from Temple University. She earned a degree in dental hygiene in 1948. Mrs. Whittlesey was the first registered dental hygienist in Albany. She worked first for Dr. Mooney, then with Dr. Cotton. She also served on the fluoridation program in the Dougherty County School System. Mrs. Whittlesey was a member and an officer in the Albany Junior League, was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club, and of Theatre Albany. She was a partner in G & L Consultants. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Lynwood Knighton and Elton Averitt Knighton.
She is survived by her husband: George S. Whittlesey Jr. of Albany; her children: George S. Whittlesey, III and his wife, Karol Simmons Whittlesey of Orange County, CA, Rawls Whittlesey of Tyrone, GA, and Jane Whittlesey of Boulder, CO; her grandchildren: George S. Whittlesey IV, Robert Whittlesey Groves, Alden Woford Groves.

She attended the public schools of Terrell County, GA.
Lelia Mae was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Deacon John Allen Bell Sr. to this union, one child was born.
She was employed as a cook for the Terrell County Public School System until retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon John Allen Bell Jr.; her parents; father, Cleveland Moore and mother, Bessie Massey Moore; two brothers, Solomon Sloan and Buddy Moore; three sisters, Elizabeth Dotson, Iola Sanders and Bobbie Jean Sloan and one grandchild, Carolyn Bell.
