ALBANY - The funeral services of Leon Ottis Jones, 87, of Poulan, who died Saturday, January 4, 2003, will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Newman will officiate. Interment will follow in Poulan City Cemetery with military honors.
Chris Collins, Jimmy Payne, Krist Strassenberg, Greg Haney, Lee Miller, and Daniel Gresham will serve as pallbearers.
A native and life long resident of Poulan, Mr. Jones had lived in Albany for a short time with his niece, Sybil Collins. Mr. Jones was the retired manager of the V.F.W. in Poulan and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Poulan. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he served in Normandy, Rhineland and Northern France and received the Meritorious United Award, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Service Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, with three bronze stars. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Sallie and Stephen Jones, his brother, Elmer Stephen Jones, sisters, Maurine Evans, Myrtle Knight and Julia Aultman.
Survivors include his two sisters, Sara Smith of Jacksonville, FL, and Elizabeth Knight of Savannah; nieces and nephews, Sybil Collins of Albany, Della Johnson of Columbia, SC, Dorothy Hunter, Liz Keel, John Knight Jr., Lucretia Smith, and Jackie Clark, all of Savannah, Shirley Blitch of Statesboro, Wylene Haney of Sylvester, Betty Gresham of Decatur, Janice Miller of Albany, Buddy Autlman of Richburg, SC, Bobbie Hodge of Manchester, TN, Annette Lamb of Savannah, Junior Jones of Roswell, Gene Jones of Poulan, Nita MacDonald of Oakridge, TN, Yvonne Terry of Albany, Jimmy Knight, Johnny Knight, J.C. Knight and Darlene White, all of Savannah.

CUTHBERT - Wilda Fowler Berryman, 81, of Cuthbert, died Monday, January 6, 2003, at Patterson Hospital in Cuthbert.
The graveside funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from East View Cemetery in Cuthbert. The Rev. Thomas McLendon and the Rev. David Seyle will officiate.
Mrs. Berryman was born September 12, 1921, in Lumpkin, daughter of the late James R. Fowler and Verdi Kilgore Fowler. She attended West Fulton High School in Atlanta and received a business certificate from Andrew College. Mrs. Berryman was a member of First Baptist Church of Cuthbert, was a member of the Happy Hearts, Benjamin Hawkins Chapter NSDAR, Georgia Society NSDAR Cameo Society, Randolph Historical Society, charter member and past president of the Cuthbert Pilot Club, past member of the Azalea Garden Club and was an avid golfer for many years. Mrs. Berryman was a former secretary at Burgin Lumber Company and archivist for Andrew College Archives and Library. She was married to the late John Robert "Jack" Berryman.
Survivors include a daughter, Karan Ann B. Pittman and her husband Max of Cuthbert; two step grandchildren, Max Peavy Pittman and Katie Jo Pittman; two brothers, James Lee Fowler and his wife Marilyn of Live Oak, FL, Carol Eugene Fowler and his wife Dorothy of Snellville and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Andrew College, Cuthbert, GA, or Randolph County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

AMERICUS - William Darrell Crenshaw, 46, of 2511 Cardinal St., Albany, died Monday, January 6, 2003, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Juanita Roberts officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Aldridge Funeral Services and at other times the residence of Kenneth Crenshaw, 813 US Highway 19 North, Americus.
Mr. Crenshaw was born July 4, 1956, son of the late William Lathan Crenshaw and Martha Roberts Crenshaw. He had resided in Albany for the past nine years and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Crenshaw is survived by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Judy Welch and husband Mickey of Buena Vista, Donna Layfield and husband, Tarron of Smithville, Bonnie Blackston and husband, Rick of Americus and Lisa Law of Americus; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Billy Crenshaw of Warwick, Tim Crenshaw of Perry and Kenneth Crenshaw and wife Susan of Americus. A number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews also survive.

A native of New York City, New York, Mrs. Muir was born July 6, 1925. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Health in Lindenhurst, N.Y.
Survivors include her husband, Allan H. Muir of Lindenhurst, N.Y.; four daughters, Mary and Billy Ray Murkerson of Blakely, Kathy and Gary Busby of Blakely, Eileen and Michael Miller of Lindenhurst, N.Y., and Regina Muir of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Vincent Muir of Peoria, Illinois, and Mark and Cindy Muir of Lindenhurst, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Mamy Kilduff Reilly.

CORDELE - James O. Palmour, 99, of Magnolia Manor Retirement Center in Americus died Sunday, January 5, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home with interment in Penia Baptist Church cemetery. The Rev. Beth Bevel will officiate.
A native of Dawson County, Mr. Palmour was a retired farmer and merchant. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Cordele Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of Wenona United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son, James S. Palmour of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Judy P. Hobbs of Macon; brother, Charles Palmour of Gainesville, Fla.; two sisters, Irma Lovell of Ocala, Fla., and Nadine Knight of Anthony, Fla.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Sanders Palmour.
