BLAKELY - Ashley Hill Temples Jr., 81, of 200 Westview Drive, Blakely, died Thursday, January 9, 2003, at Donalsonville Hospital in Donalsonville.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with interment in Pine Lawn Gardens. The Rev. Henry Bass will officiate.
A native of Early County, Mr. Temples was born July 15, 1921. He was a retired engineer for the State Department of Transportation and was a retired Deputy Sheriff for Early County. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. His parents were the late Ashley Hill Temples Sr. and Ruby May Smith Temples. He was a member of Magnolia Lodges #86 FA&M and the Hasan Temple. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Mr. Temples served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Louis Temples of Blakely; five sons, Mike Temples of Cumming, Jay Temples of Blakely, Butch Paul of Dawson, Edward Temples and Danny Temples; a brother, Milton Temples of Lakeland, FL.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. until the funeral hour today.

UNADILLA - Funeral services for Alrena Fowler Williams of Vienna will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Vienna. The burial will follow in Vienna City Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Bobby G. West will officiate.
Mrs. Williams died Sunday, January 5, 2003, in Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele. She was born in Dade County, Fla., and graduated from Dorsey High School. She joined St. Agnes Episcopal Church at an early age. Later, she moved to Oakland, Calif., and became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church serving on the usher board and senior choir. In 1992, she moved to Vienna, and became a member of Bethel Baptist Church and often attended other area churches. She was a nursing assistant.
Survivors include three sisters, Kelvese F. Rahming, Jocelyn F. (Vaughn) Cramiel, both of Miami, Fla., and Leona F. (George) Jordan of Vienna; one brother, Bertram (Mittie) Fowler of Miami, Fla.
The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

ALBANY - John Travis Jenkins, 87, of Rena Lara, MS, who died Tuesday, January 7, 2003, was conducted Friday at 2 p.m. Dr. Jeff Holland and Francis Thorton officiated.
A native of Fayette, AL, Mr. Jenkins was one of nine children born to farmer, John Henry Jenkins and wife, Ollie Cockrell Jenkins and he had resided in Rena Lara since 1937, where she he farmed in the Delta of Mississippi, and was a pioneer in the pecan industry.
Mr. Jenkins was past president of the Mississippi Pecan Growers Association and was director and past president of the Southeastern Pecan Growers Association and in this capacity he spent time in Albany, GA. (The Pecan City of the World) when Albany hosted the Peacan Festival, during the seventies and eighty's. He had many business friends in the Albany area. He was honored in the Louisiana Pecan Growers Hall of Fame. He received honorary doctorate degrees from several southern universities for pecan research. He was honored and he was chosen as outstanding industry growers in the Alabama Pecan Growers Association and cultivated the Jenkins Pecan Variety to be released jointly by Auburn and Mississippi State Universities.
At the time of his death, he was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS, where he attended Fellowship Bible Class.
In addition to his wife, Edith (Pete) Jenkins, survivors include a son, Kenneth Jenkins and his wife, Mary of Clarksdale; two sisters, Hazel Hogue of Cleveland, MS, and Martha Dacus of Metairie, LA; four brothers, Hershel Jenkins and his wife, Margaret of Oxford, MS, Gaynus Jenkins and his wife Bonnie of Fayette, AL, Charles L. Jenkins and his wife, Laurie of Albany, GA, Dennis Jenkins and his wife, Eloise of Alligator, MS; a sister-in-law, Opal Jenkins of Helena, ARK; three grandchildren, Lamar Jenkins and Perry Jenkins, both of Alligator and Travis Jenkins of Peachtree City, GA; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for Mission through Oakhurst Baptist Church.

Albany - Georgia Ann Wood Webb, 59, of 105 Telfair St., died Wednesday, January 8, 2003. Her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. today at Kinchafoonee Baptist Church. The Rev. Chuck Smith will officiate.
A native of Savannah, Mrs. Webb had resided in Albany most of her life. She was a waitress and hostess and had worked at Davis Bros. Suburban and the Ramada Inn.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Baron of Leesburg; a son, Robin Kirkland Swope Sr. of Boise, Idaho; her mother, Roberta J. Wood of Leesburg; three brothers, Randy Wood, Rodney Wood, and Royce Wood, all of Leesburg; and four grandchildren, Christopher Robin Daniel Swope, Christle Robin Swope, Kimberly Rachael Swope and Robin Kirkland Swope Jr.; one great-grandson, Brandon Christopher Swope.

ALBANY - Donald L. Wells, 13681 Hwy. 93, Baconton, died Friday, January 10, 2003, at Mitchell County Hospital.
The remains have been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Born in Galesburg, Ill., Mr. Wells had lived in Baconton for the past 13 years. He was retired from J.L. Clark as a proofreader. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Doreen Wells of Baconton; son, Ronald Wells of Minn.; daughters, Carol Little and her husband, Mak of Baconton, Theresa Akon of Minn., and Donna Dilillo of Illinois; sister, Lucille Smith and Barbara Wells, both of Illinois; brothers, Fred Rice of Albany, Gean Wells of Albany and Dicky Peterson of Illinois; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

DAWSON - Helen Dale Cosby Faust, 79, of the Pleasant Hill Community and Bronwood, died on Thursday, January 9, 2003, at Lee Co. Health Care.
The funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Harvey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dick Gill and the Rev. Lamar Coggins officiating with interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Faust was a native of Terrell County, born October 18, 1923, daughter of the late Curtis Lee Dale and Lovie Hudson Dale. She was a homemaker and a retired inspector with Oxford Industries (formerly Gunin Mfg.). She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dick Cosby and her second husband, Madison Faust; two brothers, Alma Dale and Earl Dale.
Survivors include four daughters, Joan Faust and husband, Jimmy of Dawson, Joy Davis of Albany, Dale Barfield and husband, Will of Leesburg, Van Rohrback and husband, Danny of Leesburg; a son, Ellis Cosby and wife, Vicky of Albany; two sisters-in-law, Beck Dale of Dawson and Myrtice Taylor of Columbus; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

DAWSON - Doris Fletcher Foster of Dawson died at her residence on Friday, January 10, 2003. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dawson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Claud Cook officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Foster was a native and lifelong resident of Terrell County, born July 11, 1930, daughter of the late Claude Estes Fletcher Sr. and Pearl Powell Fletcher. She graduated from Terrell High School and Georgia Southwestern College in Americus. She was a homemaker, had worked as a substitute teacher, and was office manager at Foster Tractor Company for a number of years.
She was a member of Dawson United Methodist Church, where she served on the Board of Trustees, Church Hostess, Chairman of Circle 1, a member of the Kay Arthur Sunday School Class, and other offices. She was a very active community volunteer, served on the American Cancer Society Board and the Albany Community Hospice Board. She was a member of the Old Herod Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mary Brantley Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy. She loved her family, her church, gardening and other outdoor activities.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Milton Foster and three brothers, Claude Estes Fletcher Jr., Richard Alvin Fletcher and Samuel Eugene Fletcher; and a sister, Martha Fletcher Walker.
Survivors include three children, Suzette Foster Little of Colquitt, Milton Fletcher Foster of Dawson and Michael Hiram Foster of Senoia; two sisters, Rosa Fletcher Hamby of Dawson and Frances Fletcher Patterson of Decatur; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild due in February.
