The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. today at Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla.

ALBANY - Jim Fritz, 139 Ossabaw Lane died Monday, January 13, 2003, at Emory University Hospital.
The funeral service will be 2 P.M. Thursday at Putney United Methodist Church with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester. Dr. Donald M. Kea and the Rev. Don Woeltjen officiating.
Mr. Fritz had lived in Albany most of his life. He was retired from Best Foods after 18 years and prior to that he managed the IGA store on Moultrie Road for a number of years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and attended Putney United Methodist Church. Mr. Fritz also served in the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Smith Fritz of Albany; son, James "Jimbo" Fritz of Albany; daughter, Carol F. Howell of Birmingham, AL; sister, Catherine Krautcramer of East Strasburg, PA; mother-in-law, Floy Ivey Smith and grandchildren, Brian Norton, Ivey Norton and Patrick Fritz.
The family will receive friends today from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. at Kimbrell-Stern.

ST. LOUIS, MO - Sister Mary Pauline Hritz, 77, born Margaret Frances Hritz, died Sunday, January 12, 2003.
Sister Pauline served as principal of St. Teresa's Catholic School in Albany several different times over the years, and it was her favorite. It was her last mission assignment before retirement.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Teresa's Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

SYLVESTER - Jackie Tompkins, 68, of Poulan, GA, died Tuesday, January 14, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Private graveside services will be held in Poulan Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Gunter and the Rev. Gordon Poole officiating.
A native and lifelong resident of Worth County, Mr. Tompkins was born November 10, 1934. He was retired from Sylvester Textile Company. He served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Faye Saunders Tompkins of Poulan; son, Nicky (Elaine) Tompkins of Poulan; daughter, Jill (Kim) Willingham of Shingler; grandchildren, Ashley Purvis and her husband Chad and Ben and Eli Willingham. Mr. Tompkins was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kara Willingham.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Jill and Kim Willingham, 507 Shingler-Sumner Road, Shingler, GA.

BLAKELY - Joseph Edwin Bryan, 98, of Blakely, died Monday, January 13, 2003, at Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely.
The graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Arlington. The Rev. Joey Cannon will officiate.
A native of Dixie, GA, Mr. Bryan was born September 19, 1904. He had retired as assistant manager of B.C. Moore's Department Store and was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during World War II. His parents were the late Tobias Michael Bryan and Ella Josephine Bolt Bryan. He was the widower of Josephine Victoria Lexniak Bryan.
Survivors include two daughters, Jerri Collier of Arlington, and Betty Blitch of Micanopy, FL; a sister, Ella Maxwell of Brunswick; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7 p.m.- 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Hospice of S.W. Georgia, 1323 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39817.

William Carter Henning Sr.
LILBURN - William (Bill) Carter Henning Sr., 76, of 145 Rollingwood Drive, Athens, died Monday, January 13, 2003, at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
A native of Clay County, GA, he was the son of the late Clifford Henning and Ruth Carter Henning Gordon. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy Medical Corp. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University and received his Master's degree in Public Health Administration from the University of Michigan. He also did post graduate study at the University of Georgia in Microbiology. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Georgia Public Health Association. He retired from the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Laboratory Division after 34 years of service.
While living in DeKalb County, he coached and managed little league baseball teams and assisted in establishing one of the first youth soccer leagues in that county. After moving to Athens he was active in the Boy Scouts and was Scoutmaster of Troop 19 for several years.
Surviving is his wife, Faye Sloan Henning of Athens; two sons, Bill Henning Jr. and wife, Jan of Marietta and Hal Henning and wife, Susan of Athens; three granddaughters, Christine, Caroline and Catherine Henning, all of Marietta; two grandsons, Alex Henning and Scott Brown, both of Athens; two brothers, Robert Henning of San Angelo, Texas, and Charles Henning of Sarasota, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, GA, today at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America, Northeast Georgia Council, P.O. Box 399, Jefferson, GA 30549.

DONALSONVILLE - Esmerelda A. Johnson, 83, of Donalsonville, died Monday, January 13, 2003, at Miller County Hospital.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Spring Creek Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Gerald Hollis will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Truett Johnson, Bob Johnson, Gabe Trawick, Shane Trawick, Tony Johnson, and Lamar Blackburn.
A native of Seminole County, Mrs. Johnson was born September 26, 1919. She was the owner and operator of Johnson Grocery for 30 years. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Milton Johnson.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Trawick and son-in-law Gordon of Iron City, and Kathy Johnson of Donalsonville; two sons, Danny Johnson and daughter-in-law Elaine, and Bo Johnson, all of Donalsonville; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Mims, Rachel Johnson, Truette Johnson, Gabe Trawick, Shane Trawick, Mistee Johnson and Bob Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Will Mims, Katibeth Mims and Ansley Trawick.

DECATUR, Ala. - William Jacob Stone, 67, of Decatur, Ala., died Monday, January 13, 2003, at Huntsville Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The Rev. Joe Culotta will officiate.
Mr. Stone was born May 5, 1935, in Louisburg, Kan., to Walter Stone and Frances Knecht Stone. He was an active member of St. John's Catholic Church in Madison, Ala., and St. Ann's Catholic Church in Decatur, Ala. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Vincennes, Ind., the Knights of Columbus, Chamber of Commerce, Madison Kiwanis Club and Radio Control Flying Club. He graduated from Kansas University, retired from Tenneco Corporation as production manager and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Paula J. Stone of Decatur, Ala.; three daughters, Francine Stone of Madison, Ala., Antoinette Tardy of Huntsville, Ala., and Stephenie Stone of Madison, Ala.; one son, Joseph Stone of Atlanta; one brother, Walter Stone of Louisburg, Kan.; four sisters, Catharine Havetter of Wichita, Kan., Mary Windisch of Overland Park, Kan., Dorothy Wood of Louisburg, Kan., and Virginia Hink of Louisburg, Kan.; five grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today at St. Ann's Catholic Church.
