ALBANY - Bryan Newton Avant, 58, of Albany, died Friday, February 7, 2003.
His remains will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Thad Haygood will officiate.
Born in Miami, FL, Mr. Avant had lived in the Albany area for several years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Albany and was a 1963 graduate of Albany High School. He was a registered pharmacist, graduating from the Mercer University School of Pharmacy in 1969 and had worked as a pharmacist in the Atlanta area. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivienne Newton Avant in 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Holley A. Wilson of Winder and Amanda A. Densmore of Athens; his father, Cecil A. Avent Jr.; a sister, Clare A. Jenkins and her husband, Lee, all of Coleman, (formerly of Albany); two grandchildren, C.J. Wilson and Noah Wilson; and a niece, Leah Glass.

ALBANY - Charles E. Duffer of Albany, formerly of Portland and Gallatin, Tennessee passed away, Friday, February 7, 2003 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Duffer was an automotive mechanic for many years before going to work for the Marine Corp Logistics Base in Albany, from which he retired in February 1987.
Mr. Duffer is survived by his loving family: wife, Cecile Caulder Duffer of Albany; three daughters and sons-in-law, Doloress Seeley and her husband, William of Barrington, IL, Lisa Allen and her husband, Andy of Kennesaw, GA, and Sherry Royal and her husband, David of Lee County; four grandchildren, William Charles Seeley and his wife, Alyssa and their daughter, Emily of San Francisco, CA, Kristin Seeley-Shedlock and her husband, Michael of Chicago, IL, and Kevin Royal and Amanda Royal of Lee County; a brother, John Duffer of Gallatin, TN; a sister, Willa Mae Fort of Hendersonville, TN; and number of nieces and nephews.
In Mr. Duffer's 76 years, he touched a lot of people and had a positive influence on all our lives. He will be greatly missed by all. He leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
Private funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Gordon Poole of Poulan. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.

ALBANY - Joey E. Logan, 63, of 413 Vintage Road, Albany, died Thursday, February 6, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held today (Sunday) at 2 p.m. at Hall & Hall Funeral Home. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Adel at 4:30 p.m. The Rev. Dan Harris officiating.
Mr. Logan, a native of Adel, had lived in Albany for the past 32 years. He served in the United States Navy. He was retired from Firestone Tire Company after 30 years of service as a power house engineer. He was employed part time at Advanced Auto Parts.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Harrell Logan of Albany; two daughters, Sonya Logan Lesieur of Albany and Belinda Logan Lewis of Tallahassee, FL; one son, Michael Scott Logan of Albany; two brothers, Bobby Logan of Montgomery, AL, and John L. Logan of Adel; two sisters, Edna Sue Davis of LaCross, WS, and Eleanor Fausett of Adel; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

SYLVESTER - Alice Macy Adams Senkbeil, 88, of 610 New Bethel Church Road, Sylvester, died Friday, February 7, 2003 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at Banks Funeral Chapel, with burial following services at Hillcrest Cemetery. Dr. Bob Martin and the Rev. Jerry Cooper will officiate.
Born in Hart County, GA, on November 2, 1914, Mrs. Senkbeil was a retail clerk and a homemaker. She has lived in Worth County since 1936 and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late James Horatio Adams and Annie Brown Adams.
Survivors include her husband, Lucius H. Senkbeil of Sylvester; a daughter and son-in-law, Wilma Clyde and Buddy Martin of Bartow, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, B. Frank and Martha Senkbeil of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Kathy Nooe, Christina Young, Richie Marsh (Jennifer), Jayme McKinnish, Jerrod (Buddy) Martin, Lindsey Martin, Sarah Cane, Jonathan Cane, Tiffany Breth, Neil Senkbeil, and Audrey Senkbeil; and three great-great-grandchildren, Colby, Kylie and Kenna Marsh.
A son, Howard Senkbeil, died September 4, 1998 preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends today (Sunday), from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

ALBANY - The graveside funeral service of Sue K. Stegall, of 249 Miller Road, Leesburg, who died Friday, February 7, 2003, will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Leesburg Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.
A native of Ray City, GA, Mrs. Stegall had resided in Albany before moving to Lee County 25 years ago. She had been employed as a legal secretary with Brown and Scoccimaro for 17 years before retiring three years ago.
Survivors include her husband, Adam Stegall; two sons, Stuart Stegall and his wife, Wendy and Allan Stegall, all of Leesburg; a daughter, Sandra Bennett of Valdosta; and a sister, Jo Beth Miller of Unadilla; and five grandchildren.

ALBANY - The funeral service of Milton Smith Vanzant, 82, of 3706 Parr Road, who passed away peacefully at his home, Friday, February 7, 2003, will be conducted Monday, 2 p.m. at Morningside United Methodist Church. A native of Turner County, GA, Mr. Vanzant resided in Albany most of his life. Mr. Vanzant was a retired fireman at the Naval Air Station and was a member of Morningside United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime member of The National Rifle Association, The American Legion Post No. 30, The Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No.1285 and The Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Loucretia Anglin Vanzant of Albany; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Milton and Gail Vanzant of Lee County, and James Vanzant of Albany; a brother, Royal Vanzant of Albany; three sisters, Peggie Roberts and her husband, Burton of Lee County, Dorothy Clinard and her husband, Curtis of Macon and Lavonia Vanzant of Albany; two grandsons, David Vanzant and Michael Vanzant.
Mr. Vanzant was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Lillie Smith Vanzant, and three brothers, Fulton, Purvis and Ray Vanzant.

Sollie completed his education in the public schools of Terrell County, GA. He worked at Lilliston and Busch Hogg for a number of years until his health failed.

Born in Mitchell County, GA, on December 16, 1914 Mrs. Pritchard was the daughter of the late Maggie Hoover Causey and Samuel Causey. She was a homemaker and a member of Mizpah Primitive Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late Charles Aaron Pritchard.
Mrs. Pritchard is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A native of Atlanta, Mrs. Hoogstra had lived in Albany for the past 36 years. She was a graduate of Emory University with a degree in Psychology and received her Masters degree in Education from Georgia Southwestern. She taught at Darsey Private School and attended Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Brian Manley.
Survivors include a son, Brandon Hoogstra of Albany; a daughter, Michelle Hoogstra of Albany; parents, Gayle and DeLoyce Manley of Albany; brother, Chip Manley of San Diego, CA; grandmother, Jackie Newton Bailey of Moultrie; aunts and uncles, June and Leon Manley of Jesup, Jimmy and Dorenda Strickland, and Sonny Strickland, all of Moultrie, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Barker; and a number of cousins.

Born December 23, 1926 in Lee County, Mr. Oneal was a retired steel worker and attended public school system of Lee County. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses of Leesburg.
Survivors include three sisters, Mattie O. Character (John), Ruthie O. Singleton (Bobby), Linda O. Newton (Robert), all of Albany; four brothers, Richard Oneal of Washington, D.C., David Oneal and Jack Oneal, both of Albany, Wesley Thomas (Mary) of Atlanta; a grandson, Wayne Sprey and a granddaughter, Alice Harris, both of Albany; and many nieces and nephews.
