ALBANY - Cedric C. Austin, 84, of 1607 Colquitt Avenue died Monday, February 10, 2003, at Palmyra Nursing Home.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday 2 PM at Kimbrell-Stern with interment in Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev. Rayford Bowman and the Rev. John Tarrer will officiate.
A native of Dothan, AL, Mr. Austin had lived in Albany for the past 39 years. He retired from the United States Air Force and also worked at Jamison Manufacturing for many years. Mr. Austin was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church and the Brothers in Christ Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth L. Austin of Albany; a stepdaughter, Barbara Loper and her husband, Lamar of Ashburn; a stepson, Ernest "Buddy" Whiddon Jr. and his wife, Betsy of Lanette, AL; a brother, John Austin and his wife, Helen of Dothan, AL; five step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence.

Charles Franklin Cooper
ALBANY - Charles Franklin Cooper, 63, of 2339 Winchester Drive, Albany, died Saturday, February 8, 2003, in Orange Park, Fla.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM today at First Baptist Church. Dr. James M. Ramsey will officiate. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Griffin, GA, Mr. Cooper was a member of First Baptist Church and a former deacon at Stone Mountain Baptist Church. He was a self-employed financial consultant, a graduate of Druid Hills High School and from Georgia Tech in 1961. He also served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force.
Frank was known to his grandchildren as "Bear" for his big hugs and kisses. He was a kind, gentle, devoted, and loving husband and father. He was steadfast in his love for God, his family and golf. Simply stated, he was wonderful and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Pender Cooper; a daughter, Angela Rain Wolfe and her husband Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Jeffrey Todd Cooper and his wife D'Ree of Roswell, GA; four grandchildren, Chase, Cooper, and Brad Wolfe, Caitlin Cooper; his parents, Robert Franklin and Neva Fletcher Cooper of Decatur, GA; and a brother, Robert S. Cooper of Lilburn, GA.

ALBANY - Valerie Sutton Frazier, 42, of 1538 Silas Lane No. 2, died Wednesday, February 5, 2003.
The funeral service will be at noon today at Greater Second Mount Olive Sports Complex, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Frazier was born in Albany on August 11, 1960, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Otis (Elizabeth) Sutton. She received her education in the schools of Dougherty County and was a graduate of Monroe High School Class of 1978. Valerie applied her passion for children and encouraging others into her career with the Dougherty County School System as a Parent Facilitator at West Town Elementary School. She was a member of Greater Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her husband, Willie Frazier; three brothers, Bobby (Carolyn) Sutton of New Jersey, Joseph Sutton and Carlton Sutton of Albany; a sister, Shirley Sutton of New York; two sisters-in-law, Tina Frazier and Sylvia Frazier of Albany; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

ALBANY - The graveside funeral service of Geneva Smith Gibson, 87, of Sylvester, who died Sunday, February 9, 2003, at Tift General Hospital in Tifton, GA, will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gordon Cemetery in Damascus, GA. The Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.
A native of Miller County, Mrs. Gibson had resided in Sylvester for a number of years. She was an artist, writer, quilt maker and homemaker. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leslie Gibson, two sons, William Lamar Gibson and James Leroy Gibson.
Survivors include two sons, Hank Gibson and wife Joyce of Alpharetta, GA, and Big Ernie Soul Gibson and wife Cindy of Sylvester, GA; three daughters, Joan Erstling of Sumner, GA, Elaine Sears and husband Martin of Albany, GA, Ella Mikell and husband James of Holiday, FL; a sister, Essie Shepard of Colquitt, GA; 23 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. today at Mathews Funeral Home.

Cecil D. Glover
CLAYTON - Cecil D. Glover, 60, died at his home Saturday, February 8, 2003, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 17, 1942, in Pelham, GA, to the late Norman Glover and Annie Belle Whigham Glover. He graduated from Pelham High School in 1960, with the same classmates that he began the first grade with.
Mr. Glover graduated from Southern Technical Institute in 1964, with a degree in mechanical technology. He enjoyed a long career as a mechanical contractor in Atlanta, GA, before his health problems sent him into an early retirement in the beautiful town of Clayton, GA.
In Clayton, Mr. Glover served as a meals-on-wheels volunteer and enjoyed his close "Old Clayton Inn Coffee Club" friends on a daily basis.
Mr. Glover is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, James Burnes and Jesse Glover; daughters, Melanie Graves, Christina Waite and Tina Glover; granddaughter, Jennifer Burnes; sister, Margaret Thompson; and a brother, Wallace Glover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Glover Stowe.
Services for Cecil D. Glover will be held at 4 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Clayton, GA. Following the church service, relatives and friends are encouraged to attend a "Celebration of Life Gathering" to be held at the Old Clayton Inn on Main Street in Clayton, GA.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to The American Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank all of the staff of the Hospice of Northeast Georgia for their help and support.

Born March 8, 1951, in Cuthbert, Mr. Hudson was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Born November 30, 1924, in Lake County, Fla., Mr. McCall was a retired sales representative for Chevron Chemical. He was a graduate of the University of Florida and a die-hard Gator fan. He was a member of First Baptist Church and past president of Moultrie Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary B. McCall; sons, Curt McCall of Tallahassee, Fla., and Greg McCall of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Jan Henderson and husband, Wayne of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, James F. McCall of Ocala, Fla.; two grandchildren, Mark McCall of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Chris McCall of Moultrie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank McCall and Jessie Hull McCall.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Bainbridge, GA, Mrs. Edwards had lived in Albany for the past 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry D. Edwards. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Barwick Baptist Church in Barwick, GA. She was a loving mother and a homemaker.
Survivors include, five sons, Dennis Edwards of Sylvester, Carl Walton of Albany, Richard Edwards of Warner Robins, Michael Edwards of Alachua, FL, and Larry Edwards Jr. of Tullahmoa, TN; her mother, Lillian Chapman of Barwick; a brother, Harlan Chapman of Gainsville; three sisters, Patty Sumner of Thomasville, Anna Bell Gladney of Thomasville and Mary Nell Bellew of Oneonta, AL; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern.
