ASHBURN - Services for Dura Kate Wood Magill, 89, of 1307 Blackshear Road, Cordele, will be held at 2 p.m. today (Sunday, February 16, 2003) at the Bethel Baptist Church in Turner County with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Magill died Friday, February 14, 2003 at Cordele Health Care and Rehab. after a long illness.
Mrs. Magill was a native of Rockmart, Georgia, the daughter of the late William David and Martha Florence Biggers Wood. She was the widow of the late Glenn T. Magill. She was a retired school teacher with the Florida Department of Education. She was a long time resident of Crystal River, FL, before moving to Ashburn in 1990 and then to Cordele in 1993. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Sycamore, GA.
Survivors include a brother, W.D. Wood Jr. of Ashburn; a sister, Christine Wood of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.

ALBANY - Sgt. Perry Franklin Casey, 57, of Albany, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunnyside Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Turner, the Rev. Bryan Smith, and the Rev. Mark Holloway officiating.
Sgt. Casey was a Deputy Sheriff for Dougherty County and was recently elected from his department "Officer of the Year." He had served in the United States Army. He was a member of Lighthouse Ministries.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas George Casey Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Casey of Albany; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Ed Hill of Putney, daughter, Tammy Owens of Jacksonville, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and B.J. Casey of Tifton; two nieces and husbands, Tammy and Joe Gray of Poulan and Rhonda and Donnis Milling of Sylvester.

A native of Terrell County, Mrs. Gatewood was a homemaker. She was born March 30, 1935.

SYLVESTER - Addison (Add) Lovejoy, 86, of Sylvester, died Sunday, February 16, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church with cremation to follow. Dr. Dan Williamson and Dr. Tom Jacobs will conduct the funeral service.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Mr. Lovejoy was born April 1, 1916. He had lived in Worth County since December, 1988, moving from Cincinnati, Ohio. He was formerly employed with Baldwin Organ and Piano. Mr. Lovejoy also taught organ and piano lessons, wrote and composed music and was organist for the Cincinnati Reds for seven years. He also played for an audience for Pope Paul VI at St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of F.& A.M. Lodge #194 Sylvester and the Daylight Lodge of Tifton. He was also a member of Eastern Star and Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Lovejoy played on numerous occasions for the glory of the Lord. He was the son of the late Myron Lovejoy and Beartice Lovejoy.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Spence Lovejoy of Sylvester; four daughters, Barbara Kochy and Beartice Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio, Linda Parker (Raymond) of Normangee, Texas, and Elizabeth Maher of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

ALBANY - Thomas C. Swann, 69, of 206 North Hampton Road, Leesburg, died Saturday, February 15, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Leesburg United Methodist Church with interment at Blakely City Cemetery in Blakely. The Rev. Ashley Randall will officiate.
A native of Blakely, Mr. Swann had lived in Lee County for the past 38 years. He retired from Barber Equipment Company. He was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class and was on the board of trustees. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Swann.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Swann, of Leesburg; a daughter, Ann DeWitt and her husband Jim of Macon; two brothers, Judson Swann and his wife Myra of Blakely and Jim Swann and his wife Mary of Marietta; three grandchildren, Tommy DeWitt, Taylor DeWitt, and Anna DeWitt, all of Macon.

ALBANY - Luther Woodard "Reb" Williams, 71, of Albany, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Williams was a retired truck driver and had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

CORDELE - Funeral services for Ann Martin Carter, 59, of Panama City, Fla., were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Mrs. Carter died Tuesday, February 11, 2003, at her residence in Panama City. The Rev. Phil Streetman conducted the service and Rose Martin gave the eulogy. Music was provided by pianist, Marcine Freeman. She was accompanied by the Rev. Royce Freeman as they sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace."
Pallbearers were James Hurt, William Martin, Heath Martin, Richard Burnette, Michael Burnette, and Matthew Burnette. Burial was in Penia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born June 30, 1943, in Crisp County, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Elizabeth Cobb and Jack N. Martin. Mrs. Carter was presently employed by the U.S. Air Force as a Housing Manager at Tyndall AFB, Fla. She served as a civil servant with the United States Air Force over 27 years at several bases including Eilson AFB, Alaska, and Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. She was a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church in Cordele and attended Living Word Fellowship Church in Panama City. She was also a member of the Professional Management Housing Association.
Survivors include her husband, James Larry Carter of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Tonya L. Kuypers of Wichita Falls, TX; brothers, Aaron Martin of Columbia, SC, Billy Martin of Cordele, Jackie Martin of Joshua, TX, Jerry Martin of Cordele, and Bobby Martin of Albany; two grandchildren, Kyle Kuypers and Brie Kuypers of Wichita Falls, TX.
The family received friends from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

"Dock" Richardson and her parents were the late James Lyman Hughes and Effie Tyson Hughes. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Richardson and Benny Richardson; two brothers and a sister.
