CHATSWORTH - Lamar Swilley, 63, of Chatsworth, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003, at Murray Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his father, Augustus Swilley.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Whitener of Chatsworth; children, Steven Swilley-Franeoeur of San Diego, CA, Melanie Headrick and Marcus Swilley of Dalton, Scott Swilley of Resaca, Brian Whitener and Letitia Whitener of Chatsworth, and Brandy Laster of Kingsman, Ind.; mother, Gwendolyn Swilley of Catoosa, Okla.; siblings, Jo Ed Swilley of New Mexico, Gwenette Hay of Sylvester, GA, and Nancy Hardin of Catoosa, Okla; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Crocker officiating. Interment will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens.

DONALSONVILLE - Karen Elizabeth Norma Todd, 78, of Hwy. 39 South, Blakely, died Sunday, February 16, 2003, at South East Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL.
The remains will be cremated.
Mrs. Todd was born June 27, 1924, in Chicago, IL. She was a retired aircraft inspector for the U.S. Government. She was of the Unity Faith and had been living in the Lucille area for the past 18 years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and numerous other hobbies.
Survivors include her husband, John Todd, of Blakely; daughter, Bobbie Joe Durchuk of Sterling, CO; son, Billy Lane Geske of Otis, CO; four grandchildren and a large number of great-grandchildren.

ALBANY - Sgt. Perry Franklin Casey, 57, of Albany, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunnyside Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Turner, the Rev. Bryan Smith, and the Rev. Mark Holloway officiating. Interment will be at Riverside with Chaplain Stan Halstead officiating.
Sgt. Casey was a Deputy Sheriff for Dougherty County and was recently elected from his department "Officer of the Year." He had served in the United States Army. He was a member of Lighthouse Ministries.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas George Casey Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Casey of Albany; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Ed Hill of Putney, daughter, Tammy Owens of Jacksonville, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and B.J. Casey of Tifton; two nieces and husbands, Tammy and Joe Gray of Poulan and Rhonda and Donnis Milling of Sylvester.

ALBANY - Warren Hadley Gill, 82, of 427 Whippoorwill Drive, Albany, GA, died Sunday, February 16, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral service will be at 11 AM Wednesday at Crown Hill Cemetery. Dr. James M. Ramsey will officiate.
A native of Jasper, Fla., Mr. Gill had lived in Albany since 1940, where he was an active member and deacon of First Baptist Church, founder of Gill's Electronics in 1948, and an active member of the YMCA. Mr. Gill served in the United States Navy during World War II, and was a graduate of DeForest Technical School and Coyne Electronic School in Chicago, Ill. He was also retired from the Central of Georgia Railroad with 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn G. Gill of Albany, GA; a son, Davis Gill and his wife Jana of Albany, GA; two daughters, Lisa Rowling and her husband Bill of Marietta, GA, and Lori Cannon and her husband Steve of Woodstock, GA; nine grandchildren; and three sisters, Gertrude McLendon of Americus, GA, Sara Scisson of Lewisburg, OH, and Oarie Spivey of Jacksonville, Fla.

ALBANY - Lee L. Tatum, 53, of Albany died Monday, February 17, 2003.
His remains were cremated and a memorial service will take place at a later date.
A native of Gadsden, AL, he had lived in Albany most of his life. He attended schools in Albany and graduated from Albany High School. He attended Albany Junior College, now Darton, and attended Georgia Southwestern. He was a musician, and while at Albany Junior College, he played in the band Yakotz. He also played in various bands in the Albany area. He was a member of Avalon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Max L. and Betsy Tatum of Albany; two sisters, Bonnie Knox and her husband Mike of Lake Placid, FL, Kathy Tatum of Albany; a close friend, Roger Bartrand of Albany; three stepbrothers, Bobby Chapman and his wife Gail of Lee County, Durward Chapman and his wife Lou of Albany, Michael Chapman of Lee County.

ALBANY - The funeral service of Clara Rose Watkins, 78, of Porters Corner Road, Sylvester, who died Sunday, February 16, 2003, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Switzer Chapel Cemetery.
A native of Sullivan Co., MO, Mrs. Watkins had resided in the Albany area since 1971, moving here from Bettendolf, Iowa. She retired from Coats and Clark in 1988 and was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Don Willis of Leesburg, Cindy and Jimmy Jones of Bettendolf, Iowa, and Carla and Mike Kierce of Albany; two sons, David Watkins of Sylvester and George Watkins and his wife, Marie of Albany; a brother, Roy (Sarge) Skinner of Brookfield, MO; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

BAINBRIDGE - Jimmy Darley, 62, of Donalsonville died Sunday, February 16, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Climax. The Rev. Edmond Long and the Rev. Pat Thomas will officiate.

Mr. Darley was born September 7, 1940, in Mitchell County, the son of James Louie Darley and Emma Poitevint Darley. Formerly of Climax, he had lived in Donalsonville since 1984. He served in Intelligence in the U.S. Army and had been with the Maintenance Department of Georgia-Pacific Corporation for 22 years.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Chason Darley of Donalsonville; five children, Wanda Cutts of Thomasville, Nancy Davis of Miami, Fla., Lamar Cutts of Cairo, James Chason Darley of Cleveland, MS, and Sandra "Cissy" Garland of Dothan, AL; four sisters, Betty McRae and Nina Davis, both of Bainbridge, Martha Hayes of Camilla and Phyllis Brooks of Lakeland, FL; and six grandchildren.

SWAINSBORO - Jo Ann T. McDaniel, 64, of Swainsboro died Sunday, February 16, 2003, at East GA Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Benjy Varnell, the Rev. Ronnie Wills and Mason Smith officiating.
Interment will be in Eastbrook Cemetery.

Mrs. McDaniel was a native of Walton Co., FL. She was a former employee with Ogeechee Mental Health and was a receptionist for Smith Rural Health Clinic for fifteen years. A member of First United Methodist Church, she served as song leader, was a member of the church choir, the bell choir, a member of United Methodist Women and worked the young people's activities. For many years, she served as Swainsboro High School Cheerleader Sponsor, was a member of Swainsboro Middle School and Swainsboro High School Band Boosters and had played softball with the Emanuel County Recreation Department Women's Softball League. She also was a former volunteer at Emanuel Medical Center for many years. She was daughter of the late Rev. A.G. and Katie Spikes Thomas and sister of the late James Thomas, Ralph Thomas and Mogaret Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Charles McDaniel of Swainsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Rory Hodges of Statesboro; one son, Everett McDaniel of Dawson; six brothers, Adger Thomas of Hartford, AL, Raimon Thomas of Dothan, AL, the Rev. John Thomas of Phoenix, AL, Sherwood Thomas of Auburn, AL, and Miles Thomas and Mike Thomas of Opelika, AL; one grandson, Robert Hodges and one granddaughter, Melissa Hodges, both of Statesboro.

ASHBURN - Services for Lucille S. Murphy, 89, of 1616 Ga. Hwy. 32, West, Ashburn, will be held today at 11 a.m. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mrs. Murphy died Sunday, February 16, 2003, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Murphy was from Ft. Valley, GA, and had resided in Turner County for over 50 years. She was the daughter of late George Milton and Stella Dyes Stilwell. She was of the Baptist Faith and a homemaker. She was the widow of Woodrow Wilson Murphy who died in 1986.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Joyce Peavy of Vienna. She was preceded in death by one son, George T. Swymer-March 3, 1968. Other survivors include her brother, George Stilwell of Lakeland, Fla.; sisters, Lillian Mercer of Lakeland, Fla., and Eva Murkerson of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
