ALBANY - Louise James-Bryant, 78, of 1114 Joel Drive, Albany, died Tuesday, February 18, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Saint Teresa's Catholic Church with interment in Oakview Cemetery. Father Finbarr Stanton will officiate.
A native of Terrell County, Mrs. James-Bryant was born December 1, 1924. She was a homemaker and a 1942 graduate of Monroe High School and attended Albany State University. She was a member of Saint Teresa's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Bryant Jr. of Albany; three daughters, Carla Bryant of Atlanta, Yvonne Bryant-Jackson of Augusta, and Marissa Bryant of Albany; a son, Blake Alexander Bryant of Albany; a sister, Lucille Howard of Albany; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

SYLVESTER - Preston (P.J.) McDonald, 80, of Sylvester died Thursday, February 20, 2003, at Phoebe Worth Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Banks Funeral Chapel with interment in Isabella Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Cooper will officiate.
Born November 28, 1922, in Worth County, Mr. McDonald was a jobsite superintendent with Smithwick Construction Co. He was an Army WW II veteran and a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Erlene Blakey McDonald of Sylvester; daughter and son-in-law, Jerri and Wayne Poe of Macon; three brothers, Royce McDonald of Sylvester, Wendell McDonald of Ocilla and Rex McDonald of Montezuma; four sisters, Elizabeth James of Albany, Margie McCrary of Sylvester, Dorothy Bowen of Albany and Shirley West of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jerri Lynn Hunter of Richmond, VA, Lorri Ann Maestrello of Richmond, VA, and William Preston Poe of Valdosta; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston Lemuel McDonald and Jewell Davis McDonald.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, P.O. Box 445, Sylvester, GA 31791.

ALBANY - Max Aultman Sheppard Jr., 82, of Albany died early Friday morning, February 21, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be held 4 p.m. today at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. James M. Ramsey will officiate.
Mr. Sheppard was born in Albany and lived his entire life here, attending Dougherty County schools and graduating from Albany High School in 1937. He served his country in World War II as a Signalman in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a lumber and hardware salesman starting with Crouch Lumber Company, then at Watkins Lumber Company and finally at Lowe's, all in Albany.
Mr. Sheppard was a member of First Baptist Church of Albany where he served as a deacon and was a lifetime member of American Post 30 serving in many capacities including Post Commander. He was also active in the Albany Chamber of Commerce for many years serving on the Military Affairs Committee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joelyn North Sheppard and a sister, Patty Sheppard Crawford.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Arnold Geeslin of Albany; a grandson, Trey Geeslin and a brother, Sam Sheppard and his wife Peggy of Kingsport, TN.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Arnold and Susan Geeslin, 2308 Golfcourse Drive, Albany, GA.

CUMMING - Sherry Jean Oxner Bridges died Thursday, February 20, 2003, at Northside Forsyth Hospital after a brief illness. A long time resident of Elbert County, GA, Mrs. Bridges was born in Newberry, SC. Mrs. Bridges graduated from Elbert County High School, attended Clemson University School of Nursing, and received her nursing degree from Athens Technical College. She pursued her nursing career as a nursing home administrator. She became the Administrative Assistant for Health Services Centers in 1974, a position she held at the time of her death.
Mrs. Bridges was an avid sports woman and as a member of Safari Club International hunted throughout the world. Her roots to Zimbabwe, Africa, were very strong, and she traveled there annually for 21 years. Since 1985, Sherry and her husband, Gene Bishop, were also very active in Southern Boosters, the athletic support organization of Georgia Southern University.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by her husband, Eugene M. Bishop of Dawsonville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Don Hudak of Sugar Hill, GA; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Oxner of Elberton, GA, and her two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay O. and Steve King of Cumming, GA, and Jan O. and Russell Eyman of Perry, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at L.W. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Dr., Cumming, GA 30040. The family will receive friends at L.W. McDonald & Son Funeral Home Sunday from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.

DAWSON - Wiley Hamilton Lofton, 61, of Dawson died Wednesday, February 19, 2003. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harvey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Parker officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Lofton was a native of Randolph Co. born May 22, 1941, son of the late Harold W. Lofton and Eva Mae Miller Lofton. He had been a resident of Dawson most of his life. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Georgia Dept. of Transportation and currently had been employed with Central Plumbing of Albany.
Survivors include his wife, Juliette Harris Lofton of Dawson; a son, Jason Lofton of Dawson; two stepchildren, Michelle Massey of Dawson and Travis Hoague of Delta Junction, Alaska; three brothers, William Lofton of Selma, AL, Shorty Lofton of Bronwood and Sid Lofton of Dawson; two sisters, Elizabeth Pollock of Dawson and Lillie Mae Lommel of Mesquite, TX; nine grandchildren, Eric Hoague, Christy Flesch, Lori Parnell, Kayla Hoague, Steven Hoague, Brett Hoague, Angelina Callis, Nichole Massey and Zane Zolomy; and four great-grandchildren, Nathan Flesch, Joshua, Tyler and Taylor Parnell.
