Captain Thomas Lee Moore IV
Thomas Lee Moore IV, Captain, USAF Reserve, died on April 3, 2004, as a result of a military aircraft accident in Savannah, Georgia. Originally from Statesboro, Georgia, Captain Moore was an instructor pilot flying the T-6A Texan II assigned to the 39th Flying Training Squadron at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia. Prior to his current assignment, Captain Moore flew the C-17 from 1998 until 2002 with the 317th Airlift Squadron (Reserve) at Charleston AFB. Lee was selected for early upgrade to aircraft commander and participated in combat missions including Operations Joint Guardian, Phoenix Banner, and Southern Watch. His decorations include the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Air Force Training Ribbon. Lee’s early flying experience included employment as a “crop duster” with Southern Agriculture Aviation, as well as being a fire suppressor with the Georgia Forestry Commission from 1995-1996.
Lee was born on October 2, 1971 at Fort Polk Army Base in Louisiana.
He is the son of Thomas L. Moore III and Sunni Collins Moore, of Bulloch County, Georgia. Lee grew up in Statesboro, Georgia, where he was an honor graduate of Statesboro High School in 1990. He attended Georgia Southern University, where he graduated in l994 with a degree in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation. He was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, and a 1997 graduate of the USAF Officer Training School.
Lee is survived by his wife, Amanda Burgner Moore of Valdosta, Georgia. Other family members include his parents, Thomas and Sunni Moore, one brother, Matthew Moore, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Colllins, Jr., all of Statesboro, Georgia, his paternal grandmother, Sara Lou Moore and the late T. L. Moore, Jr. of Register, Georgia.
Other survivors include his mother and father-in law, Richard and Cheri Burgner of Crozet, Virginia, two brothers-in-law, Wesley Burgner of Crozet, Virginia, and Tyler and Emily Burgner of Statesboro, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00am at the Statesboro First Baptist Church with Dr. H. William Perry officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in the Eastside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matt Moore, Chad Hilde, Justin Hilde, Jake Hartigan, David Collins, Chris Jones, Mike Wilson, Doug Collins, Wesley Burgner and Tyler Burgner.

Mr. Thomas F. Lanier

Mr. Thomas Felton Lanier, age 71, passed away March 31st at Candler Hospital of Savannah, following a brief illness. The Bulloch County native was a 1949 graduate of Brooklet High School and 1953 graduate of Georgia Teachers College (Georgia Southern University). He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Lanier was President of Southwest Georgia Production Credit Association in Americus Georgia for many years before retiring back to Statesboro in 1986. He was a member of the Leefield Baptist Church. Mr. Lanier was preceded in death by his parents, J. Felton Lanier and Leona Lanier of the Leefield Community.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Rackley Lanier of Statesboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack A. and Gerri Lanier; nieces and nephews, Patricia A. Lanier, Mike and Bonnie Lanier Rushing, Chad and Travis Rushing, all of the Leefield Community. Mr. Lanier is also survived by his aunts, Earle Lee Franklin and Bernice Lee Simmons both of Statesboro. Several cousins also survive.
Funeral services will Saturday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. James Rogers officiating.
Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery.

Dawson Lewis Roberts, 3 ½ month old infant son of Donald and Michelle Barnett Roberts of Statesboro, died Sunday at the Medical College of Georgia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Faith Roberts.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister Amy Roberts of Statesboro; two brothers, Cody and Kolby Roberts both of Statesboro and his paternal grandmother, Mary Lou Roberts.

Mr. Billy Frank Frawley, age 68, died while fishing in the Ogeechee River. The Bulloch County native was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Frawley lived in Charleston, S.C. for 20 years before returning to Bulloch County several years ago. He was retired from the shipyard in Savannah and the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a ship fitter.
Surviving are two sons, Ricky Lee Frawley of Twin City and Bobby Frank Frawley of Brooklet; two brothers, Gary Frawley of Brooklet and Homer Frawley of Monks Corner, S.C.; three sisters, Betty Grooms of Brooklet, Shelby Bazemore of Faulkville and Gayle Collins of Metter.

Mrs. Eliza J. McBride, age 92, died Wednesday at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Emanuel County native had lived in Bulloch County for most of her life and was the owner/operator of McBride’s Dry Cleaners in Portal for over 25 years. She was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in- law; Gene and Mary McBride of Twin City; one daughter Peggy McBride Bland of Statesboro. Five grandchildren; Jason and his wife April McBride; Jeff and his wife Brooke McBride; Jill M. and her husband Kirk Cavanah, Brian and his wife Elaine Bland, and Jennifer Bland. Five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. McBride will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. David Hudson and Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating.

Mrs. Sarah Lanier McCorkel, age 76, died Friday at Heritage Inn Health and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a homemaker; a sitter for the elderly, worked in the lunchroom at Nevils Elementary School, and was a member of the Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving is her husband of 58 years Ray McCorkel of Nevils, Ga; two daughters and sons-in-law; Renae M. and Lloyd Hendley, Renda M. and Mike Hodges all of Nevils; Two sons and one daughter-in-law; Ronnie and Tammy McCorkel, and Rickey McCorkel all of Nevils. Three sisters; Sherry Thompson of Nevils, Rose Dye of Statesboro, and Patty Powell of Statesboro. One brother; Wilbur Lanier of Nevils, Ga. Eight grandchildren and one great grandchild also survives.

Mr. Alvie Leamon Williams

Mr. Alvie Leamon Williams, age 69, died Sunday morning at his residence. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County was the son of the late Otis Williams and Myrtle Parrish Williams Harvey. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. with nine years of service. He served in the Korean War and was an award winning marksman on the Rifle and Pistol Team while stationed at Camp LeJune, NC. Mr. Williams retired after 27 years of service as a Pipefitter with Union Camp Corp. of Savannah. He was a member of the Lawrence Baptist Church where he was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, the brotherhood and was a Deacon.
Surviving are his wife Eleanor Edmunds Williams of Bulloch County; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronald Edwin and Delores Williams of Collins, Donald Leamon and Katherine Williams of Nevils and David Perry Williams of Sandersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Williams Strozzo and Michael Strozzo of Jacksonville, FL.; six grandchildren, Joshua and Garron Williams, Meg, Adam and Adelaide Williams, Tori Strozzo and Ben Williams; four brothers, Elmer Williams of Jasper, FL., Gene Williams of Orange Vale, CA., Radford Harvey of Lake City, FL. and David Harvey of Jasper, Fl.

The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a homemaker and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Mrs Fordham was an avid gardener, loved to fish, fabulous cook, loving mother, and precious grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lester Fordham and brother J.B.Heath.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law; Shirley F. and Roy Keel, Mary F. and Bill Rucker, and Sara F. and Waldo Waters all of Statesboro. Four sons and daughters-in-law; Robert L and Jean Fordham of Statesboro, John and Janice Fordham of Portal, Von Fordham of Statesboro, and Wayne and Sissy Fordham of Millen; 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Mr. Robbie Dean Allen, age 74, died Thursday at his home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Bulloch County native had lived in Metter for 23 years before moving back to Statesboro in 1991. He worked for Starling Dairy for 17 years and City Dairy for 17 years as a distributor. He was the owner of Allen Seafood in Statesboro. Mr. Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a Deacon of the First Baptist Church, and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by two children Barbara Allen and Danny Allen.
Surviving is his wife Harriet McCoy Allen of Statesboro; one daughter and son-in-law Denise and Timmy Sikes of Metter; One son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Cheryl Allen of Metter, Ga.; One granddaughter Lexi Allen; Two Brothers Barney Allen and Donald Allen; Four sisters Doris Bradley, Betty Sue Lowery, Willie Lee Fincher, and Linda Allen.

The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a Farmer, the owner of Sparks Grocery Store for 35 years in Portal, and a rural mail carrier in Portal for 12 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He was a member of the Portal United Methodist Church where he had served as the chairman of the Board for several years, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Mr. Robert Earl Minick, age 72, died Friday evening at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a 1949 graduate of Brooklet High School and a 1953 graduate of the University of Georgia where he joined the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Mr. Minick was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a former store owner and owner of Minick Garden Center. Mr. Minick was a former Mayor of Brooklet, a former director of the Farmers and Merchants Bank and had served on the Statesboro Bulloch Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Gladys Minick and a brother, Jerry Minick.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Doris Law Minick of Brooklet; a daughter and son in law, Robin and Greg Freeman of Marietta; two sons and daughters in law, Bob and Julie Minick of Valdosta and Jay and Lisa Minick of Statesboro; a sister in law, Betty Minick Harkleroad; 6 grandchildren also survive.

Miss Bertha Hagin
Miss Bertha Julia Hagin, age 102, died Tuesday morning at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County was a retired school teacher. She graduated from First District Agricultural and Mechanical School, now Georgia Southern University. Miss Hagin taught school in Bulloch County for 46 years at several schools including Ogeechee, Statesboro Grammar School and Mattie Lively. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the Bulloch County Historical Society, the Archibald Bulloch Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Farm Bureau and the Friends of the Statesboro Regional Library. Miss Hagin was active in many Georgia Southern University organizations and was a large supporter of the university. She was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church where she was the oldest living member. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ida Mae Hagin, Dell Hagin, Ruth Hagin Kennedy and Louise Hagin and a niece Margaret Kennedy O’Neal.
Surviving are a niece, Eloise Simmons Jackson of Tennille; two great nieces, Alice O’Neal of Covington and Margaret O’Neal of Hartwell; a great nephew, James O’Neal of Atlanta; a nephew-in-law, Ralph O’Neal of Hartwell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00am at the New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Vance Riggins officiating.

Mrs. Florence Summerlin Dekle (Sissy), age 58, died Monday morning at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Atlanta native lived in Bulloch County through middle school and graduated from Columbia Highschool, Decatur Ga. in 1963. She lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona and California before moving back to Statesboro in 1996.
She was a loving homemaker and a member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church. She served as Church Hostess at Riverland Hills Baptist Church and was a Hospice Volunteer in Columbia, S.C., where she enjoyed participating as Hospice Clown and Patient Caseworker.
Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Remer Dekle of Statesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lehmon and Karen Dekle of Clemson, SC and Stephen and Carol Dekle of Register; six grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jim Summerlin of Jacksonville and Raymond and Nancy Summerlin of Midlothian, Virginia. Other survivors include her mother-in-law, Lula Dekle Trapnell of Register; brothers and sisters of her husband and their spouses, Johnnie and Pat Dekle of Louisville, Ga., Ralph and Bonnie Howard of Register, Al and Mary Ose of Arlington, Va., step brothers and their spouses, Gary and Jan Trapnell of Lamour , CA. and Jerry and Sally Trapnell, of Saint Louis, MO; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Mrs. Marion Neal Utley Myers (Grandma), age 74, died Sunday morning at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Bulloch County native lived in Bryan county for the last 10 years. Mrs. Myers was a retired waitress and a homemaker. She was a member of the Lawrence Baptist Church. She was a loving Grandmother and called Grandma by most who knew her. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her two husbands, Herbert Utley and J.A.(R.T.) Myers and a son, Mike Utley.

Mrs. Brenda Sue Motes, age 53, died Wednesday evening at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County was employed with Vandy’s BBQ in the Statesboro Mall for over 30 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Steve Motes of Statesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Brooks Hendrix of Statesboro; a son, Joey Motes of Statesboro; two grandchildren, Brooke and Brittany Hendrix both of Statesboro; her mother, Mary Lucille Heath Brown of Statesboro; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gail Deal and Barbara and Tim Wilson all of Statesboro; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. James Barnes and Rev. Tom Osborn officiating.
Burial will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brooks Hendrix, Terry Deal, Tracy Deal, Greg Miller, Charles Motes and David Motes.

Mrs. Ethel Lavada Nesmith
Nevils, Ga.
Mrs. Ethel Lavada Nesmith, age 82, died Wednesday at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County was a graduate of Nevils High School and attended Georgia Teachers College, now Georgia Southern University. Mrs. Nesmith was a Homemaker. Mrs. Nesmith was the last living charter member of the Nevils United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was active with many organizations and charities, including, the Nevils United Methodist Women’s Group and the Prison Ministry in which she was the founder. Mrs. Nesmith was a Lay Witness Member and a founding member of the Laity Retreat at Epworth by the Sea. She was a former Nevils news correspondent for the Bulloch Herald. Mrs. Nesmith was a caregiver to the sick and needy in the community. To all who knew and loved her, she was a saint. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walton Nesmith; her parents, C. J. and Gladys Martin and two brothers, R.C. and Richard Martin.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Charles Deal of Brooklet and Sonya and Hubert Tucker of Peachtree City; a son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Suzette Nesmith of Claxton; a sister, Uldine Morris of Nevils; two brothers, Deweese Martin of Nevils and Bobby Martin of Brooklet; 9 grandchildren, Neysa Lee of Marietta, Amy Morgan of Statesboro, Kevin Deal of Statesboro, Russell Deal of Richmond Hill, Demere Nesmith of Claxton, Chadwick Nesmith of Jesup, Travis and Josh Britt and Olivia Tucker all of Peachtree City; 13 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00am at the Nevils United Methodist Church with Dr. Tab Smith officiating assisted by Rev. George Masciarelli.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Richard Leo Ellis, Jr. age 56, died Monday morning at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bulloch County and lived here most of his life. Mr. Ellis was a 1966 graduate of Statesboro High School and served in the U.S. Army as a military police during the Vietnam War. He was a retired truck driver. Mr. Ellis was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Leo Ellis, Sr.
Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Donna Mary Ellis of Statesboro; two daughters and sons in law, Tonya Ellis Wells and Scott Wells of Mobile, Ala. and Tammie Ellis Bolton and Donald Bolton, Jr. of Brooklet; a son, Richard Leo Ellis III of Statesboro; a stepdaughter, Julie Bragg and her husband Kenneth both of Melbourne, Fla.; his mother, Sara Nell Newton Ellis Barfield of Statesboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellis Daughtry and Russell Daughtry both of Statesboro and eight grandchildren.

Madelyn Martin
Madelyn Martin, age 16, died Wednesday from injuries she received in an automobile accident. The Bulloch County resident was a student and a member of the 2006 graduating class of Southeast Bulloch High School. She was a member of the Nevils United Methodist Church. Her special interest and hobby encompassed all forms of art.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers Madelyn Newman Carabaggio, and Melva NeSmith
Surviving are her parents; Tessa N. and Chuck Martin of Brooklet; one sister Sarah Martin of Brooklet, two brothers and one sister-in-law; John Martin, and Charlie and Christina Martin of Brooklet; Her maternal grandfather Eudene Nesmith of Denmark; and her paternal grandparents Deweese and Rose Marie Martin of Nevils. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Madelyn will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home with Frank Harvey officiating.

Mrs. Mary Faye Bryant, age 54, died Monday at her residence. The Bulloch County native had lived most of her life in Bulloch County before moving to Wrightsville four years ago. She was disabled and attended the Dexter Assembly Church of God. She was preceded in death be her parents; Linton and Pauline Bryant; three brothers Arnold Bryant, Ricky Bryant and Larry Bryant.
Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law; Nancy and Aaron Vaughn of Kite, Ga, one son and daughter-in-law; Tommy and Carrie Mock of Register, Ga; 11 grandchildren; David Mock, Angela Vaughn, Brittany Vaughn, Amber Mock, Jessica Mock, Ben Bolen Jr., Travis Mock, Taylor Mock, Kayla Mock, Clay Mock and Brittany Aldrich; Four great grandchildren; Hannah Mock, Kaleb Mock, Madison Sims and Logan Sims; One sister and brother-in-law; Erma J. Mrs. Evelyn Womack
Mrs. Evelyn Rigdon Womack, age 88, died Saturday at Sunbridge Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a homemaker. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years; Cecil Womack of Garfield; Three daughters and sons-in-law; Betty and Gene Arnett of Anniston Al, Peggy and Roy Norman of Atlanta, Ga, and Diane and Gerald Bowen of Hephzibah. Seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00pm at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating assisted by Rev. Robert Jacobs.
The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Mr Jerry Allen Davis, 63, died Thursday at his residence following a brief illness. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County was a graduate of Marvin Pittman High School. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving as a military police during the Vietnam War. He was a farmer and an avid fisherman and hunter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleve and Louise Davis of Statesboro.
Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Arthur Calhoun of Milledgeville and Jane and Crawford Hendrix of Denmark, one brother and sister-in-law, Clive “Buddy” and Pam Davis Jr. of Statesboro. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00pm at the Savannah Holy Church of God with Rev. Ryan Ralston officiating.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Rose Marie Schaffer, age 93, died Wednesday evening at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. The Perry County, Indiana native lived in Mt. Vernon, Ind. most of her life until moving to Statesboro in 1989. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Statesboro. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Schaffer was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Everett Schaffer.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Gerry and Don Roth of Westport, Conn. and Gayle and Jesse Gunter of Statesboro; six grandchildren, Jeanne Galvin and Roger Roth both of Weston, Conn., David Roth of Trumball, Conn., Susan Gunter of Savannah, Kathy Gunter of Jacksonville, Fl. and Jessica Gunter of Statesboro; a sister, Evelyn LeClere of Tell City, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Helen Hagedorn of Evansville, Ind and several nieces and nephews.

Inez Miller Conner
Brooklet, Ga.
Mrs. Inez Miller Conner, age 57, died Tuesday at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. The native life long resident of Bulloch County was a 1965 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and later graduated from the Statesboro School of Cosmotology. She was a hairdresser for over thirty years. She was co-owner of the Guilded Cage in Statesboro, until her retirement in 2002 due to her health. Inez was a member of the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church.
Inez had a true love for life that was exemplified in her ability to bring joy to other peoples lives. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a lady whose joy was her Saviour, her family and her friends. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. To know her was to love her. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

Mr. George Franklin, Jr.
Mr. George Russell Franklin, Jr. age 69, died Monday evening at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Chicago, Ill. native moved to Statesboro as a small child with his parents, George Russell and Edwina Franklin. He was a 1952 graduate of Statesboro High School. Mr. Franklin attended the University of Georgia and Georgia Southern College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired security guard. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Ruth Helen Fletcher, Linda and Sherwood Boyd and Judy and Brooks Nichols all of Statesboro, Milbry Ann and Bill Griner of Ayden, S.C. and Joyce and Steve Morrison of Savannah; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services and burial will be held Thursday at 11:30 am at Bulloch Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ron Andrew officiating.

Mr. James Robertson Brannen, Jr. (Bobby), age 75, died Saturday at Statesboro Nursing Home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County was a retired farmer. Mr. Brannen was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marion Stalcup Brannen and a son, Ronald B. Brannen.
Surviving are his wife of seven years, Aliece Brannen of Statesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Pete Hackle of Statesboro; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Robertson Brannen III (Pete) and his wife Dale and Charles Thomas Brannen and his wife Paulette all of Sylvania and David K. Brannen of Statesboro; a sister, Gladys Sullivan of Ellabell, a brother, Harold Thomas Brannen of Statesboro; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Macy Strickland Denmark, age 79, died Friday morning at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County was the daughter of the late Willie Wade and Nettie Strickland. Mrs. Denmark was a homemaker and a member of the Tuesday Quilters. She was a member of the Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church where she was active for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Clisby Denmark.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Era Cay and Johnnie Joyner of Brooklet; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jennie Wren Denmark of Swainsboro; three granddaughters, Kimberly Meeks and her husband Bennett of Pembroke, Ashley Hughes and her husband Ben of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Lauren Denmark of Statesboro; two grandsons, Robbie Joyner of Brooklet and Christopher Denmark of Swainsboro; two sisters, Audrey Hagan of Richmond Hill and Beatrice Todd of Savannah.

Mrs. Elizabeth Emerson Kullberg, age 80, died Monday at Syl-View Nursing Home after a short illness. The Summerville, MA native had lived in Silver Springs Maryland for many years until moving to Statesboro in 1999. She was a retired secretary with Prince George General Hospital for many years. She had been a resident of Willow Pond since moving to Statesboro.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law; Neil and Dawn Hill Kullberg of Statesboro; a daughter and son-in-law Donna and George Groves of Columbia Maryland; four grandchildren also survive.
