Dressel
Natasha "Tasha" Elizabeth Dressel, 12, of Kingsland, died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 as a result of a traffic accident on Georgia Highway 40, on Tuesday, November 4. She had been a resident of Kingsland all of her life, and attended Camden Middle School, where she attended sixth grade. Dressel was a member of the Hidden Treasures Assembly of God, and was a member of the Lethal Weapon Band.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Tanya Dressel and Timmy Carter of Kingsland; brother, R.G. Dressel of Kingsland; maternal grandparents, Liz and John Clark of Kingsland; paternal grandparents Alton and Lorene Carter of Folkston; grandmother Marian G. Stone of Woodbine; great-grandmother Mary Byrd of Titusville, Florida; and several aunts and uncles.
The family received friends from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7 at Edo Miller Camden Chapel. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8 at Hidden Treasures Assembly of God in Kingsland, with Pastor Robert Dyal and Father Frank Logue officiating. Active pallbearers were Rick Hornsby, James Galloway, Jackie Carter, Scott McCullough, Glenn McCullough and Andy Ward. Honorary pallbearers were the Kingsland Police Department.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Natasha Dressel Memorial Fund at Citizens State Bank on Georgia Highway 40 in Kingsland.
Edo Miller Camden Chapel of Kingsland was in charge of arrangements.
Thompson
Dewitt A. Thompson, 67, passed away October 30, 2003. He was the son Fred Thompson and Lettie Stokes Thompson, a devoted father and grandfather, and retired from the U.S. Air Force and Flowers Bakery; his best times were fishing with Vernon.
Survivors include sons Christopher (Linda) W. Thompson and Curtis (Betty) Eugene Thompson; a brother, Sherman L. Thompson; sisters Millie Sikes, Jewel Rowe, Lois (Jack) Roberson and Alice (Leamon) Crawford; grandchildren Lynn, Sara, Rachael, Courtney, Christopher, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday, November 2, 2003 at River Road Baptist Church with interment in Boone Creek Cemetery in Saint George, Georgia.
Thomas
Margaret Estella Johnson Thomas, affectionately known as Peggy, passed away on November 9, 2003. Peggy was born on October 4, 1931. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Riley (R.N.) Thomas. Peggy was a member of First Baptist Church in Folkston, Georgia.
Survivors include her three children, Larry (Lizanne) Thomas, Ann (Wayne) Walden, and David (Sophronia) Thomas; nine grandchildren, Joe (Erica), Jacob, Luke, Michael, and Rebekah Thomas, Christopher and Judd Walden, and Spencer and Emily Thomas; one brother, A.J. Johnson; three sister-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in Pineview Cemetery in Folkston, Georgia. The family greatly appreciates donations in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeast Florida, 2123 Mango Place, Jacksonville, Florida.
Arrangements were under the direction of Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston.
Maxwell
Carol L. King Maxwell, born on September 8, 1972 in Toledo, Georgia, to the late Samuel L. Jones and Margaret Young, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2003. She attended school in St. George and graduated from the Charlton County school system. Carol was a member of Greater St. Peters Holiness Church of Folkston, under the leadership of Dr. Carswell, and was employed by PPDG, Inc., at Kings Bay Medical Center as a medical assistant.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Marcell Maxwell; two daughters Shaniqua King and Courtney Maxwell; three sons, Marcell Maxwell, Jr., Cortez Maxwell and Kentray Jackson; her mother, Margaret Young; five sisters, Maude Robinson (Ralph) Winn, Betty Joe Robinson, Barbara Robinson, Deloris (Gregory) Morris, and Sandr (Russell) Jone; nine brothers, Lonnie (Mozella) Hamilton, Walter Hamilton, Roger (Gwen) King, Eddie Robinson, David (Rosemary) Robinson, Earl Robinson, Anthony Robinson, Perry Robinson, and Mose Lee Robinson, who preceded her in death; mother and father-in-law Suzette and Tommy Lee Maxwell, Jr., one sister-in-law, Sherry Maxwell; five brothers-in-law, Tony Maxwell, Gerald Maxwell, Tommy Maxwell III, Portrait Maxwell, and Domonic Martin; a very special friend, Gerry Battle Doles, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Services were held on Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Folkston. Interment followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Judith Nell Crews, 52, of Folkston, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2003 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was a native and life long resident of Charlton County. She was a member of the Winokur Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Rachel V. 'Dinky' (Colvin) Byrd of Nahunta and Tammy (Fred) Howard of Folkston; six nieces; six nephews; many aunts and uncles, and sixteen great nieces and great nephews. The family received friends Tuesday, November 11 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Winokur Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Manning and Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Burial was held in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Cherry Allen Blair, 53, of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, November 29 at Memorial Medical Center. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Blair of Jacksonville, FL; son Eric Blair of Savannah, GA; daughter Melissa Priest, Satellite Beach, FL; grandson Kody Ryan Priest, Satellite Beach, FL; parents Novada and Joyce Allen, Folkston, GA; two sisters, Carol Allen, Folkston, GA and Phyllis Holden, Jacksonville, FL; and a brother, Buzz Allen, Folkston, GA.
The family received friends Tuesday, December 2 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shepard Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Frank Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Traders Hill Cemetery.

Willard Bill Herbert Price, Jr., 59, of Kingsland, Georgia passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2003. He attended Covenant Christian Church in Douglas, Georgia. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Price of Kingsland, GA; children Allen Price of St. Marys, GA; Tracie Mallett of New Concorde, OH, Tina Johnson of Byesville, OH, Melissa Jewell Pooh of St. Marys, GA, Judy Hardy of Cambridge, OH, and Teresa Grant of St. Marys, GA; father Roderic Miller of Folkston, GA; sisters Anna McKim of Kingsland, GA, Carol Joiner of Woodbine, GA, and Mary Phillips of Cambridge, OH; brother Samuel Miller of Alma, GA, and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Alice Miller, sister Frances McKim and grandson Steven Grant.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 29, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Shepard Funeral Home with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. at Shepard Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating services was Reverend Sam Varis. Burial followed in Pineview Cemetery.

Mr. Douglas Raulerson Sr., age 89, of Moniac, GA died Monday, November 24, 2003 at his residence. He is a native and life long resident of Moniac, GA. He was a member of Moniac Baptist Church. He spent most of his life as a Agriculture farmer, he also retired as a machinist with Load King. He is predeceased by his parents the late James and Sally Crawford Raulerson; his wife of 60 years Cleo Canaday Raulerson sons; Billy C. Taylor and Fred Taylor; grandson; Billy Eric Taylor.
Survivors include his three daughters; Maxine (Owen) Burnsed of Sanderson, Gail R. (Leonard) Davis of Macclenny, FL and Ella (Joe) Higdon of Maxville, FL Two sons; Douglas (Kathleen) Raulerson, Jr. of St. George, GA and Max (Patsy) Raulerson of St. George, GA. Ten grandchildren and Eleven Great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 28, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in Moniac Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Colvin and Pastor James Croft officiating. Interment followed in Canaday Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2003 in Moniac Baptist Church. Powers
Leonard Cecil Powers, Jr., 43, of Kingsland, passed away February 18 as a result of a construction accident. He was a native of Moyock, North Carolina. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Folkston.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Powers of Kingsland; one son, Lee Chandler Powers of Hortense, Georgia; two step children, Robert Barnes of Jacksonville, Florida and Monica Gooden of Kingsland; parents Leonard and Ann Powers of Moyock, NC; sister Cynthia Hobbs of Moyock, NC; and one grandson, Jacob Barnes of Jacksonville, Florida.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Shepard Funeral Home, with Reverend Randy Jacoby officiating.
Williams
Deaconess Earnestine Mobley Williams passed away Friday, February 20, 2004 at her residence with family, following a lengthy illness. She was a native of Charlton County and a member of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Adult Usher ministry for a number of years. She later moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, where she married Deacon Johnny Williams, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Robert E. Mobley (Maxine) of Asbury Park, NJ; one daughter, Jannie L. Payne of West Palm Beach; three sisters, Josephine Austin, West Palm Beach, FL, Ester Brown, Folkston, GA, and Betty Dixon, Alma, GA; one brother, Sammy Mays, Palatka, FL; five step children; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 718 3rd Street, West Palm Beach, Florida.

Mrs. Alma McNeil Conner, 91, entered into rest October 9, 2004 at the Baptist Village Retirement Communities Waycross, GA. Mrs. Conner was a retired coordinator and social worker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Fernandina Beach, Fl.

Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by her husband Troy Conner. She is survived by 3 daughters Carol Jones, Blackshear, GA; Sherri Moore, Sardis; Kay Barber, Manor, Ga.; 3 sons John S. Conner, Kingsland; Joe Conner, St. Augustine, Fl.; Preston Conner, Sardis. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 special friends, Ruby, Dora, and Debra.

Lillian Wannell Altman, 83, of Folkston, Georgia passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2004. She was a member of the Philadelphia Freewill Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxillary.
Survivors include: two sons: Ron (Linda) Altman of Athens, GA and Hayward (Kathy) Altman of Swainsboro, GA. Three daughters: Sandra Gail (Harold, Sr.) McIntosh of Hilliard, FL, Judy (Norman) Chesser and Becky Jane Gamble of Folkston, GA. 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephew.
She was predeceased by her husband Samuel Matthew Altman and a number of brothers and sisters.

A native of Lulu, Florida, Mr. Branch had been a resident of Brunswick for the past 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Sterling Church of God. He retired from Brunswick Wood Products, after 30 years of service. Mr. and Mrs. Branch had celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in August.
He is survived by his wife, Mae M. Branch of Brunswick; two daughters, Georgia Merle Justice and her husband Cregg of Dublin, GA; Bobby Ester Tucker and her husband Odis of Brunswick; three sons, Robert Cecil Branch and his wife Stephanie of Glennville, GA.; Clyde Wendell Branch and his wife Joan of Brunswick; Billy Dave Branch and his wife Loretta of Waynesville; two sisters Pat Amerson and her husband Charles of Macon; Willie Mae Towers of Fredericksburg, Maryland; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Timothy Earl Thomas, Sr., 41, of Folkston, Georgia passed away November 14, 2004. He was a retired law enforcement officer. He was a member of River Road Baptist Church. He was a Cub Scout Leader and a volunteer at the Okefenokee Swamp. He was a loving husband, father, brother and son. He loved to hunt, fish whenever he could. He was also a great fan of the late Dale Earnhardt.
The Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Debra Spurlock Thomas of Folkston, GA. His son, Timothy Thomas, Jr. of Folkston, GA. His daughter, Ashley Thomas & Jason Hall of Folkston, GA. Father and stepmother, Mr. & Mrs. Earl (Christine) Thomas of Folkston, GA. His two brothers, Ricky (Angela) Thomas and Marlon (Rita) Strickland of Waycross , GA. Two sisters, Jenny Thomas (Arnold) O Berry of Folkston, Ga, and June Strickland of Waycross, GA. His stepfather Mr. & Mrs. Larry Strickland of Blackshear, GA. Father & Mother in-law, Walter Lewis and Julie Ann Spurlock of Folkston, GA.
He was preceded in death by his son John Allen Thomas, his mother Barbara Strickland, his brother Brett Strickland, his grandparents John and Mary Thomas and Lester and Louise Sirmans.
Visitation was Tuesday, November 16, 2004 from 6-9 p.m. at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2004, 11:00 a.m., at River Road Baptist Church with Reverend James Conner and Reverend Lonnie Baldwin officiating services. Memorialization will be by cremation.
