The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow in Floral Memory Gardens. Dr. Ron Baxley will officiate.
A native of Mitchell County, Mrs. Bolton had lived in Worth County for the past four years. She was retired from Coats and Clark after 35 years of service. Her husband, Cecil L. Bolton, preceded her in death on September 2, 2000.
She is survived by three daughters, Patsy Adams and her husband, John (Skip) of Sylvester, GA, Kay McDonald and her husband, Larry of Sylvester, GA and Sandra Miller of Albany, GA; one son, Paul Laramore and his wife, Angie of Albany, GA; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family is at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laramore, 328 Martindale Road, Albany, GA, and will receive friends today at Kimbrell-Stern from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

ALBANY - Susie M. Ellis, 93, of 610 Lincoln Ave., Albany, died Monday, June 18, 2001, of pneumonia in Atlanta.

A native of Atlanta, Mrs. Ellis was a retired teacher. She received her bachelor's degree in English from Clark Collage, master's degree in curriculum and doctoral degree in education from Atlanta University.
Mrs. Ellis was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Utilis Matronae Club, Albany Urban League Guild, National Association for Retired Persons, Ladies Independent Business Club, Retired Teachers Association, Grier Medical and Dental Association and National Dental Association. She was also a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Josephine Ellis Reynolds of Newark, Delaware; son, Virlyn "Bubba" Ellis, daughter-in-law, Sandye Ellis of Atlanta, Ga.; two granddaughters, Victoria N. Ellis of Tallahassee, Fla. and Adrianne Reynolds Quarles of New Castle, Delaware; one grandson, Virlyn Todd Ellis of Miami, Fla.; grandson-in-law, Sean A. Quarles of New Castle, Delaware, and numerous relatives, Godchildren and friends.
The remains will lie in state at the Elliott Funeral Home Chapel today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A native of Worth County, Mrs. Ramsey was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Albany where she taught Sunday School and played the piano. She was formerly employed with A.L. Seely Printing Co. and Way's House of Flowers for many years. She was currently employed as a bookkeeper with Sherwood Baptist Church. She was a volunteer at Palmyra Nursing Home where she played the piano. She had lived in Albany since 1950. She was the daughter of the late Addie T. Hobby and Lula Gwines Hobby.

ALBANY - Effie Sumner Reeves, 86, of Albany died Tuesday, August 14, 2001, at her residence following an illness of several weeks.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Central Baptist Church where she attended services for many years. The Rev. John Sikes, Associate Pastor, will officiate. Interment to follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Moultrie, Ga., with grandson Captain Benjamin N. Walters Jr. also officiating at the graveside service.
A lifetime resident of Georgia and native of Grady County, Mrs. Reeves was born in Beachton on June 2, 1915. She was the former Effie Grace Sumner, a descendant of a long line of Sumners who were among the early settler families to pioneer several Georgia counties. Her parents were William Riley and Martha E. Porter Sumner, both of whom preceded her in death some years ago. She had lived in Albany for the past 62 years after moving from Rome, Ga. with her husband, Elbert Sanders Reeves Sr., deceased in 1973. She headed a large family of 73 members and extended family members, including two grandsons and a great-granddaughter whom also preceded her in death. A twin herself, she had twin daughters, twin great-grandsons, and triplet great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Reeves was employed by Coates & Clark for 17 years and retired in 1978. She was a member of the Order of the Silver Star, an organization for mothers who have given sons and daughters for service in the Salvation Army.
Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Jean Sliter Nelms of Chatsworth, Ga., Mrs. Eugene (Dorothy) Crosson of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Terry (Evelyn) Reynolds of Gainesville, Ga., Mrs. Ben (Carolyn) Walters of Garner, N.C., Mrs. Clifton (Grace) Anderson of Springhill, Tenn., Mrs. William (Lynne) Cox and Mrs. Gary (Diane) Powell Shores of Albany, Ga.; a son, Elbert S. "Buddy" Reeves Jr. of Apopka, Fla.; 25 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Gregory (her twin), Mrs. Lillie Bell Hannon, and Mrs. Dassie Shiver, all of Moultrie, Ga., along with several nieces and nephews.

A native of Colquitt County, Mr. Richter had lived in Albany since 1946 and was the founder and former owner of Richter Roofing, now known as Dale Richter Roofing. He was also a retired bus driver and former assistant transportation director for the Dougherty County School System. Mr. Richter was a member of the Baptist faith.

ST. MARY'S - Gerald M. Avera, 62, of St. Mary's, Ga., died Monday, August 13, 2001, at his home after a long illness. He was born in Edison, Ga. Parents: the late Noel Avera and the late Nina Stamps Avera Stevens. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Argiro, two daughters, Teresa Linden of Hendersonville, Nev. and Nicole Graves of St. Marys, and a son, Noel V. Avera of Atlanta, Ga., and two grandchildren and two sisters, Maurene McDonald of Shellman, Ga. and Landa Paul of Albany, Ga.
After 30 years of service, he retired from the U.S. Navy in 1986 with the rank of Master Chief Yeoman. Among his many military awards, he received a Purple Heart as a Vietnam veteran. After retirement, because of his natural talent and love of drawing, he pursued and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Florida.
While in the Navy, one of the awards he received was the Navy's Best Published Cartoon Art Award for the cartoon strip, "Right Rudder," which appeared in The Florida Times-Union for more than six years and the Periscope for four years. For 10 years he was the editorial cartoonist for the Tribune & Georgian. His work was featured in "Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year" for 1999, 2000 and 2001. His work was also featured in The Press-Sentinal in Jesup where he was presented with a Georgia Press Association's award for newspaper illustration in 2001.
Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Hospice of Southeast Georgia.

CORDELE - R. Earl Smith, 70, of 1744 Hwy. 90, Cordele, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home with interment in Zion Hope Annex Cemetery.
A native of Turner County, Mr. Smith had retired as plant manager with Gold Kist after 25 years. He was a member of High Hill Baptist Church, the Sportsman Club and was a past member of the Cordele Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Yvette Hardin Smith of Cordele; four sons and daughters-in-law, David T. and Cindy Smith of Cordele, Terry and Vickie Smith of Zebulon, Seaborn Smith of Cordele and Michael Smith of Warwick; brother, Bill Smith of Ashburn and sister, Ruth Smith of Ashburn; six grandchildren, Tyler Smith and Kayce Smith, both of Zebulon, Smantha Smith, Taylor Smith, Heather Smith and Nikki Smith, all of Cordele.

Mattie A. Stewart
DAWSON - Mattie Achord Stewart, 98, of Dawson, died on Wednesday, August 15, 2001, at Dawson Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Jones officiating.
Mrs. Stewart was a native of Wheeler County, born September 5, 1902, daughter of the late Henry Achord and the late Lou Braswell Achord. She had been a resident of Dawson for 56 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Earl Stewart and two sons, Julian Earl Stewart and Robert T. "Bobby" Stewart.
Survivors include four sons, H.D. Stewart of Lakeland, Fla., R.M. Stewart of Albany, David Stewart of Lake City, Andy Stewart of Cleveland and a daughter, Louise S. Parnacott of Dawson; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

DAWSON - Laura Lee White, 55, of Leesburg, died at her residence on Tuesday, August 14, 2001. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the graveside in Eastview Cemetery in Cuthbert with the Rev. Walter Reeder officiating.
Mrs. White was a native of Crawford County, Ohio, born December 7, 1945, daughter of the late John Edward Reeder and Charlotte Fahr Reeder. She was an LPN and worked for a number of years with the Randolph County Emergency Medical Service and later worked with the East Albany Medical Clinic. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuthbert.
Survivors include her husband, James W. White of Leesburg; four daughters, Tracy Moore and Megan Christmas, both of Albany, Erica Curry of Shellman and Becky Curry of Atlanta; a brother, Walter Reeder of Midland City, Ala.; a cousin, Louise England of Sebring, Fla. and seven grandchildren.
