After nearly three years of waiting, a teaching position in music finally opened at Booker T. Washington Jr. High School. Mrs. Collins retired from teaching in 1982 from Attucks Jr. High School. The composing of the school song for this newly built school is her most cherished accomplishment. She was a teacher of the month in 1970.
