NICHOLSON - Mrs. Mildred Carolyn O'kelley, 75, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at BJC Nursing Home, Commerce.
Mrs. O'kelley was born February 5, 1926, in Commerce, a daughter of the late Dave and Lollie Lyles Duke.
She was a housewife and was of the Methodist faith.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Methodist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Okelley is survived by her husband, Henry Bill Okelley, Nicholson; one son, Mike Okelley, Marietta; one daughter, Anita Palmer, Covington; one brother, Jack Duke, Jefferson; two sisters, Louise Duke, Jefferson, and Jane Segars, Arcade; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

HOSCHTON - Mrs. Annie Ruth Hawkins Cooper, 79, of the Duncan Creek Community, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001.
A native of Gwinnett County, Mrs. Cooper was a daughter of the late Tom and Minnie Everett Hawkins.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Cheek Bentley.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 16, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Revs. Sammy Everett and J.B. Wilkins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cooper's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Cecil L. Cooper, Hoschton; sons and daughters-in-law, Reggie and Dorthy Grace Cooper, Grover D. and Deborah Cooper and Tommy D. and Mary Ann Cooper, all of Hoschton, and Randall and Cathy Cooper, Lawrenceville; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Nicky Parker, Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Kenneth Cooper, Chris Cooper, Eric Cooper, Marty Cooper, Amanda Cooper, Jason Cooper, Jamie Cooper, Stefanie Cooper, Alicia Cooper, Michelle Pelham, Kevin Parker and Robert Parker; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

MAYSVILLE - Tommy Joe Sims, 53, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Sims was born February 28, 1948. He was a son of Lucille McGinnis Sims, Maysville, and the late Billy Joe Sims.
Mr. Sims was a retired sheet metal worker and was a member of Maysville Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, in Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville, with the Revs. Brian Stowe, Larry Joe Wilbanks and Jordan Weldon officiating.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Sims is survived by his wife, Benita Carroll Sims, Maysville; two sons, Jacob Sims and Jason Sims, both of Maysville; one daughter, Joy Hardy, Commerce; one sister, Terry Wilbanks, Harriman, Tenn.; and one granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

DANIELSVILLE - The Rev. Milton Ernest Bagwell, 58, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Bagwell was born February 4, 1943, in Madison County. He was a son of the late Willie Ernest and Hattie Ruth Alford Bagwell.
The Rev. Bagwell had worked for the University of Georgia Public Safety Division and retired from the Athens Clarke County Police Department as lieutenant commander of services division, and also worked in the homicide division. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Georgia Bible Institute with a seminary degree.
The Rev. Bagwell served Hannah's Creek Baptist Church, Madison County, Rice Creek Baptist Church, Franklin County, Bethel M Baptist Church, Madison County, and Faith Baptist Church, Elbert County.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Dayton Logan, Ray Jenkins, Barry Black and Don Mulkey officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Deacons from Faith Baptist Church served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were deacons from former pastorates and police officers of police department in uniform and court officials.
The Rev. Bagwell is survived by his wife, Carolyn Kellum Bagwell, Danielsville; one son, the Rev. David L. Bagwell, Royston; one daughter, Jackie Griffeth, Danielsville; two sisters, Louise Smith, Danielsville, and Dessie Lee Jarrard, Jefferson.

MR. PETTYJOHN
U.S. Navy veteran
TALMO - James Robert Pettyjohn, 64, died Monday, March 19, 2001, at his residence following an extended illness.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Pettyjohn was born March 11, 1937, a son of the late Claud and Estelle Buffington Pettyjohn.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict, and was a retired plumber. Mr. Pettyjohn was a member of Talmo Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Mae King Pettyjohn, a son, James Ronald Pettyjohn, and a brother, Paul Pettyjohn.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Talmo Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Burt officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Randy Gray, Theron Martin, Thomas Martin, W.A. Martin, Harold Pettyjohn Jr. and Leon Thompson will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Grogan, Talmo, and Lynn Potts, Jefferson; three sisters, Vivian Hepner, St. Paul, N.C., Evelyn Lewallen, Homer, and Doris Swanson, Atlanta; one brother, Harold Pettyjohn, Talmo; and five grandchildren.

MAYSVILLE - William Charles Davis, 64, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Davis was born March 18, 1936, a son of the late William Herschel and Carrie Ruth Deaton Davis.
He was a former employee of Valley Fresh, Talmo, and was retired from Con-Agra, Talmo. Mr. Davis was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Jefferson.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Jeff Langley officiating. Burial was in the Mountain Creek Baptist Church cemetery, Pendergrass.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Agnes Davis; two sons, Gary Davis, Gainesville, and Michael Davis, Pendergrass; one sister, Lucille Murphy, Gainesville; one brother, Ray Davis, Braselton; and three grandchildren.

MAYSVILLE - Mrs. Doris Bennett Chambers, 57, died Monday, March 19, 2001.
Mrs. Chambers was born July 5, 1943, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of the late Bush and Maebell Harper Bennett.
Mrs. Chambers had been employed with Barrow Manufacturing Company and was of the Baptist denomination. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Chambers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at Riverside Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Manus and Charles Morrison officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include one son, David Chambers, Maysville; two daughters, Teresa Queen, Homer, and Susan Rylee, Gillsville; and four grandchildren, Brittany Queen and Chris Queen, both of Homer, and Blake Rylee and Kevin Rylee, both of Gillsville.

Louise Domingue
Mrs. Louise Domingue, 79, of Ila, formerly of Buford, died Thursday, March 8, 2001.
Mrs. Domingue was retired from Morrisons Cafeteria and was a member of Emanuel United Pentecostal Church. She was the wife of the late Paul Domingue Sr., and was preceded in death by four sons, Paul Domingue Jr., Larry Gene Domingue, Joseph Thurmond Domingue and Charles Ray Domingue.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in the chapel of Tapp Funeral Home, Buford, with the Revs. Jerry Wheeler and Randy Domingue officiating. Burial was in the Sugar Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Martha Domingue and Theresa Moore, both of Buford, Margie Morales, Ila, and Elisha Rae Hart, Danielsville; two sons, Billy L. Domingue Sr., Russellville, Ala., and Raymond Wayne Domingue Sr., Commerce; one sister, Clara Mae Hill, Suwanee; 35 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pauline H. Lord
Mrs. Pauline Hix Lord, 87, of Commerce, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at the University Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Lord was born February 1, 1914, a daughter of the late Joseph Carlton and Sara Martin Hix.
She was retired from Commerce Sportswear and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mrs. Lord was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lord.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Brad Wilson officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Mrs. Lord is survived by one son, Mike Lord, Commerce; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

George Crane
George Crane, 86, of Monroe, died Saturday, March 10, 2001.
A native of Hall County, Mr. Crane was a son of the late George Crane and Tempie Dean Crane.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, in the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Willis officiating. Burial was in Old Pentecost Cemetery, Barrow County.
Mr. Crane is survived by his wife, Jewel B.
