James A. Wilson Jr.
James Alfred Wilson Jr., 37, of Danielsville, died Sunday, January 7, 2001, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Wilson was born September 27, 1963, in Gwinnett County. He was a son of James A. Wilson, Jefferson, and the late Brenda Smith Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was employed as a pipe fitter and was a member of Harvest Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 8, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Vince Mercardante officiating. Burial was in the Dry Pond Methodist Church cemetery, Maysville. Hilmer McGaha, Bobby Peavy, Jimmy Waters, Billy Wilson, Chris Wilson and Micky Wilson served as pallbearers.
In addition to his father, Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Melissa Wilson, Danielsville; one son, Adam Wilson, Danielsville; one daughter, Amanda Wilson, Danielsville; and one sister, Brenda Ann Brown, Danielsville.

Robert E. Pritchett
Robert E. "Bob" Pritchett, 82, of Cornelia, died Monday, January 1, 2001, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born June 28, 1918, in Habersham County, Mr. Pritchett was a son of the late Ed and Victoria Crow Pritchett.
He was retired from North Georgia Wholesale Company, with 46 years of service as a salesman in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. Mr. Pritchett was the owner and operator of Glendale Angus Farm until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Cornelia First Baptist Church and a member of the American Angus Association. Mr. Pritchett was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalena Giddens Pritchett.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Billy Harris and Dr. T. Logan Smith officiating. Burial was in the Alley's Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Glenda P. and Lewis H. Moore, Cornelia; brother, J.C. Pritchett, Gainesville; and one grandson, Rob Moore, Cornelia.

Habersham County native
DEMOREST - Hoyt Rufus Mote, 64, died Friday, December 29, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center.
Mr. Mote was born August 24, 1936, in Habersham County, a son of the late Rev. Charlie and Frances Tench Mote.
He worked at Orbit Manufacturing and was of the Baptist faith.
A memorial service was held Sunday, December 31, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Rev. Melvin Stephens officiating. Mr. Mote's body was donated to science.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Joan McEntire Mote, Demorest; two daughters, Marcia Elaine Ramey, Cleveland, and Mary Ann Lawrence, Homer; one son, Michael Mote, Demorest; one sister, Barbara Ann Echols, Demorest; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

CORNELIA - Jerry Lee Segers, 44, died Saturday, December 30, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Mr. Segers was born August 24, 1956, in Fulton County. He was a deputy with the Habersham County Sheriff's Department and was employed by Wal-Mart in Cornelia. Mr. Segers was a member of Harold Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Henley Kimbrell.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 1, 2001, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. Clyde Garrison and Garry Garrison officiating. Burial was in the Mt. View Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Segers is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Kimbrell Segers, Cornelia; father and step-mother, Nesbit and Addie Lene Brock Segers, Baldwin; mother and step-father, Gladys Hicks Allen and Elmer Allen, Cleveland; one brother, Jimmy Ray Segers, Cumming; two half-brothers, Michael Allen, Alabaster, Ala., and Randy Allen, Oxford, Ala.; one step-brother, Milton Smith, Alto; one step-sister, Diane Garrison, Cornelia; mother-in-law, Imogene London Kimbrell, Cornelia; nieces, Shelley Segers, Cumming, and Amanda Garrison, Cornelia; nephews, Jeremy Allen and Chandler Allen, both of Oxford, Ala., Graham Garrison, Cornelia, and Zackary Smith, Alto.

SYLCAUGA, ALA. - Lewis David Umberhandt, 79, died Sunday, December 31, 2000.
Mr. Umberhandt was born in Habersham County, a son of the late Jessie and Lucy Ella Jackson Umberhandt.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda McCarthy.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 2, 2001, in the chapel of Radney-Smith Funeral Home, Sylacauga, Ala. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Sylacauga, Ala.
Mr. Umberhandt is survived by his wife, Peggy Umberhandt, Sylacauga, Ala.; four sons, Ronald Umberhandt, Clarkesville, Billy Umberhandt, Baldwin, and David Umberhandt and James Umberhandt, Toccoa; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

GILLSVILLE - Mrs. Betty Sue Seymour, 70, died Monday, January 1, 2001, at Lanier Park Hospital, Gainesville, following a brief illness.
A native of Fulton County, Mrs. Seymour was a daughter of the late Gober and Lucy Booth Hall.
She moved to Hall County in 1984 after living in Bowman for a number of years. Mrs. Seymour was retired from Liberty National Insurance Company as an account analyst and had been employed with J&J Foods. She was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church.
Mrs. Seymour was preceded in death by a sister, Delray H. Sockwell.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 3, in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Home, Gainesville, with the Rev. Fulton Boswell officiating. Burial was in the Deep Creek Baptist Church cemetery, Dewy Rose.
Mrs. Seymour is survived by her husband, Perry Seymour, Gillsville; son and daughter-in-law, James Keith and Sheila D. Dickerson, Gillsville; daughter and son-in-law, Karen D. and Ronnie H. McDowell, Bowman; one brother, Carl Hall, West Minister, S.C.; one sister, Winnie Looney, Morrow; two grandsons, Andy McDowell, Lavonia, and James Kyle Dickerson, Gillsville; and a number of other relatives.

MISS LACKEY

LULA - Miss Margie Lackey, 99, died Saturday, December 30, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Miss Lackey was born March 28, 1901, in Banks County, a daughter of the late James Thomas and Margaret Baugh Lackey.
She was a homemaker and a member of Enon Baptist Church. Miss Lackey was the last member of her immediate family, which consisted of 12 children.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 1, 2001, at Enon Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Morris, Loyd Martin and Dean Bryant officiating. Burial was in the Timber Ridge Baptist Church cemetery.
Miss Lackey is survived by a nephew raised in the home, David Adamson, Lula; as well as other nephews and nieces.

MR. WHITESIDE
Habersham County native
CORNELIA - J.B. Whiteside, 56, died Wednesday, December 27, 2000, at Doctors Hospital, Augusta, following an extended illness.
Mr. Whiteside was born May 3, 1944, in Habersham County, a son of Catherine Greemon Flynn, Alto, and the late Hoke Whiteside.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 29, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. O.L. McCullough and Sanford Kimbrell officiating. Burial was in the Baldwin Cemetery.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Whiteside is survived by two sisters, Geraldine Davidson, Alto, and Rachel Rice, Lula.

MRS. LOUDERMILK
Music teacher
CORNELIA - Mrs. Willie C. Loudermilk, 100, died Wednesday, December 27, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Loudermilk was born January 15, 1900, a son of the late Thomas and Emma Collins.
She was a homemaker and a music teacher and was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church. Mrs. Loudermilk was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Loudermilk, and a son, Hollis P. Loudermilk.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 29, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Rev. Luther Williams officiating. Burial was in the Loudermilk Family Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Sexton, Cornelia; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
