JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - Mrs. Hortense Hartley Felker Adkins, 89, died Sunday, January 7, 2001, in Jacksonville, Fla.
Mrs. Adkins was born July 9, 1911, a daughter of the late W.D. "Bud" and Annie Bryan Hartley.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Jacksonville United Methodist Church, Florida. Mrs. Adkins was also a member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Felker, and her second husband, George Adkins.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Warren Huddleston officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Mrs. Adkins is survived by one daughter, Sylvia Kilosky, Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Bernice Scott, Commerce; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

COMMERCE - R.J. Ragsdale, infant son of Roy and Misty Bennett Ragsdale, Commerce, died Saturday, January 6, 2001, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Gloria Jean Ragsdale.
Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Monday, January 8, in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce, with Bishop Kyle Baber officiating.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one sister, Gloria Jean Ragsdale, Commerce; paternal grandfather, William Thomas Ragsdale; maternal grandfather, Jimmy Bennett; and maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Kira and Steve Samples.

MRS. OWENSBY
Former Commerce High counselor
GRIFFIN - Mrs. Louise Tumlin Owensby, 83, formerly of Commerce, died Wednesday, January 3, 2001, at Southland Nursing Home.
Mrs. Owensby was a graduate of Young Harris College and the University of Georgia. She earned her master's degree in counseling from the University of Georgia in the 1960s and was the only counselor at Commerce High School until her retirement in 1985.
Mrs. Owensby was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce, as well as a member of many civic groups.
She moved to Griffin in 1993 and attended the First United Methodist Church of Griffin. Mrs. Owensby was active in the Senior Citizens Organization, First Friends and Pink Ladies at Spalding Regional Hospital.
A native of Forsyth County, Mrs. Owensby was a daughter of the late Candler and Isabella Tumlin, and the wife of the late Dr. William A. Owensby. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles William Owensby, and a sister, Emma Lee Orr.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 6, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Sam Storey officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
Mrs. Owensby is survived by children, John and Evelyn McGavin, Griffin, and James "Jim" and Deborah Owensby, Douglasville; grandchildren, Erin, Andrea and Jonathan McGavin, all of Griffin, and Meridith and Matthew Owensby, Douglasville; sister, Virginia Martin, Tucker; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Robison, Carrollton; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Commerce Organ Fund.

JEFFERSON - Mrs. Pauline W. Fuller, 91, died Monday, January 8, 2001, at her residence following a sudden illness.
Mrs. Fuller was born January 20, 1909, in Oak Harbor, Ohio. She was a daughter of the late William and Minnie Hoedt Rahm.
Mrs. Fuller was a retired registered nurse and was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Ray Fuller, and a son, Robert Ray Fuller.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 12, in Oak Harbor, Ohio. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Ohio.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by a daughter, Carol Sandrock, Jefferson; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

DANIELSVILLE - Mrs. Mauzee Etheldra Belk Bonds, 85, died Tuesday, January 2, 2001, at her residence.
Mrs. Bonds was born February 16, 1915, in Franklin County. She was a daughter of the late William Howard Belk Sr. and the late Eva Mae Robertson Belk.
Mrs. Bonds was a seamstress and homemaker and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Bynum Johnson, and her second husband, Wilborn W. Bonds, a brother, William Howard Belk Jr., and a sister, Evelyn Morrison.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Revs. Earl Goode and Robbie Brown officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Johnson, Winterville, and Michael Bonds, Emerson; three daughters, Mary Agnes Ramsey, Lake City, Carolyn Fort, Griffin, and Frances Fortson, Danielsville; two step-daughters, Lorine McConnell, Commerce, and Louise Boozer, Allenhurst; three sisters, Imogene Rice, Travelers Rest, S.C., Helen Bradley, Ila, and Peggy Isquierdo, Lawrenceville; 16 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 20 step-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

AUBURN - Dock Alvin Butler, 91, died Wednesday, December 27, 2000.
Mr. Butler was a native of Gwinnett County. He was a farmer and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, Auburn. Mr. Butler was also a member of the Auburn Masonic Lodge #230 F&AM.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2000, at Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Long officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Butler is survived by his children, Qullion and Guy Butler, Sue and Milton Turner, J.C. and Rosa Mitchell and Florene Masters, all of Auburn, James E. and Hilda Butler, Charleston, S.C., Charlotte and Buford Smith, Oakwood, and H.E. and Jewette Mitchell, Dacula; sisters-in-law, Rubye R. Keith, Hoschton, and Imogene Mills and Mary Waycaster, both of Baldwin; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
MRS. CHANDLER

ATHENS - Mrs. Betty Anne Morgan Chandler, 66, died Monday, January 8, 2001.
Born in Douglas County, Mrs. Chandler was a daughter of the late Lewis Harvey and Minnie Mae Keaton Morgan.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband, Bynum A. Chandler.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 11, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Bill Schaffer officiating. Burial will be in the Attica Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Chandler's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include five daughters, Betty Ruth Couch, Dallas, Crystal Newman, Villa Rica, Connie Cohran, Douglasville, and Juanita McInvale and Beverly Cohran, both of Athens; two sons, David Cohran, Athens, and Timothy Cohran, Breman; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family was to have received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

HOUSTON, TEXAS - Mrs. Miriam A. Lake, who lived her life full of family, friends, faith and love, died Saturday, December 23, 2000.
Born in Union City, Mrs. Lake was a daughter of the late Guy and C.E. Barnett, Commerce.
Beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Miriam loved life and the people in her life, said family members. Her kindness, tenderness and care for others were truly evident in all that she did.
Mrs. Lake was a member of Westbury Baptist Church, Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lake.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2000, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Lake is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, George and Kay Lake and John and Lori Lake, all of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, James, Jordan, Jessica, Karen, Jennifer and Brian, all of Houston, Texas; and a dear friend, Bob Detamore, Houston, Texas.

DANIELSVILLE - Mrs. Mammie Lucille Hughes, 78, died Monday, January 8, 2001.
Born in Tennessee, Mrs. Hughes was a daughter of the late Jessie Lindsey and Alberta Ann Jones Hinsley.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, William Hughes.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Dayton Logan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by two sisters, Zora Turner, Danielsville, and Christine Klafert, New Orleans; and one brother, Douglas Hinsley, Maysville.

MR. PRITCHETT
Owner of Glendale Angus Farm
CORNELIA - Robert E. "Bob" Pritchett, 82, died Monday, January 1, 2001, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born June 28, 1918, in Habersham County, Mr. Pritchett was a son of the late Ed and Victoria Crow Pritchett.
He was retired from North Georgia Wholesale Company, with 46 years of service as a salesman in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. Mr. Pritchett was the owner and operator of Glendale Angus Farm until the time of his death. He was a member of the Cornelia First Baptist Church and a member of the American Angus Association. Mr. Pritchett was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalena Giddens Pritchett.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Billy Harris and Dr. T. Logan Smith officiating. Burial was in the Alley's Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Glenda P. and Lewis H. Moore, Cornelia; brother, J.C. Pritchett, Gainesville; and one grandson, Rob Moore, Cornelia.
