MR. HOLLIDAY
Maysville native
GOOSE CREEK, S.C. - Bernard Jackson Holliday, 66, died Sunday, January 7, 2001, in a North Carolina hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Holliday was born October 2, 1934, in Maysville, a son of the late Joseph David Holliday and Faye Elizabeth Lord Holliday.
He attended Maysville schools and Clarkesville Technical Institute. Mr. Holliday served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Mr. Holliday was a retired electro-environmental technician with Charleston Air Force Base.
Funeral services were held at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville, S.C. A private burial was held in the Mount Olive Baptist Church cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Faye Holliday, Charleston, S.C.; one son, David Edward Holliday, Goose Creek, S.C.; one brother, David Kenneth Holliday, Gainesville; and two sisters, Joyce H. Beam, Douglasville, and Joan H. Miller, Bethesda, Md.

MR. PHARR
Retired dairy farmer
WINDER - John E. Pharr, 84, died Monday, January 15, 2001.
Born in Jackson County, Mr. Pharr was a son of the late Claude and Pearl Williamson Pharr.
He had resided in Barrow County for most of his life and was a retired dairy farmer. Mr. Pharr was a member of Chapel Christian Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, at Chapel Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Stephens officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Pharr is survived by his wife, Lillian Pharr, Winder; one sister, Mary Ruth Wall, Auburn; and a number of nieces and nephews.

MR. IRVIN
Former Irvin Implement Co. owner
ADRIAN - Hubert Cecil "H.C." Irvin, 92, died Friday, January 12, 2001, at Johnson County Nursing Home.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Irvin was a son of the late William E. and Daisy Phillips Irvin, and the husband of the late Janie McRae Irvin.
He graduated from Berry College, Rome, and was involved in several civic organizations, including the Swainsboro Exchange Club, Swainsboro Masonic Lodge, the Emanuel County Farm Bureau, the Emanuel Agri Business Club, and was a founding member of Emanuel County Historical Preservation Society.
Mr. Irvin was the former owner of Irvin Implement Company and was a John Deer Tractor dealer. He was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church and a longtime member of Swainsboro First Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 14, in the chapel of Hendley, Rountree and Powell Funeral Home, Swainsboro. Burial was in the Swainsboro City cemetery with the Revs. Cecil Ruffin and Ramus Freeman officiating. Hubert Wayne Irvin, Jay Dwayne Irvin, Bruce McRae, Johnny McRae, Chris Whitehead, Mike Harrell, Mike Wayne Harrell and Nathan Foskey served as pallbearers.
Mr. Irvin is survived by his wife, Artie Lou Foskey Irvin; one daughter, Linda Winn, Lexington, N.C.; one son, Wayne Irvin, Adrian; one step-son, Hugh Foskey, Adrian; one brother, A.J. Irvin, Talmo; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

MR. BROWN
Brother of countians
HAMILTON, IND. - Charles Edwin Brown, 69, died Friday, January 12, 2001.
Born in Toccoa, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Paul J. and Mary Adams Brown.
He had been employed with the maintenance department of the Metropolitan schools of Steuben County, Ind., retiring in 1981, and the Gwinnett County schools of Georgia. Mr. Brown also managed the A&W Root Beer Stand, Angola, Ind., from 1966 to 1973, and retired from Walmart, Angola, Ind., in July 2000.
He was a member of Plesant Lake Baptist Church, the Angola Masonic Lodge #236, the Angola Moose Lodge, The Nightcrawlers and was a member of the Angola Fire Department for 11 years.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a grandchild, Charles Robert Brown, and a sister, Pauline Dooley.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville. Burial was in Meadow Cemetery.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Barbara Nelms Brown; two daughters, Paulette Crile, Stockbridge, and Patricia Rickman, Ashley; one son, Charles Dennis Brown, Clermont, Fla., formerly of Gas City, Tenn.; one sister, Ann Autry, Commerce; one brother, Oris Brown, Commerce; six grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren.

CARNESVILLE - Mrs. Ruby Mae Wright Bradford, 65, died Thursday, January 11, 2001.
Mrs. Bradford was a member of Appalachee Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Ann Bradford.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13, at Appalachee Baptist Church with the Revs. Sammy Everette and Richard Boone officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bradford is survived by her husband, Kelley L. Bradford; son, Farion L. Bradford, Hoschton; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Mark Bruce, Buford; brother, J.W. Wright, Statham; grandchildren, Brandy Marie Bradford and Scott Alan Bruce; and great-grandchildren, MaKinley Robinson and Noah Taylor.

MR. HALL
Winder First UMC member
WINDER - Foy S. Hall III, 52, died Thursday, January 11, 2001.
Born in Clarke County, Mr. Hall had resided in Barrow County for most of his life. He was a son of Julla M. Hall, Winder, and the late Foy S. Hall Jr.
Mr. Hall was co-manager of Ingle's Grocery Store, Winder, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winder. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nettie and Foy Hall Sr.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 14, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. Terry Tippens officiating.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Hall is survived by one daughter, Pyper Hall, Winder; one sister, Judy Ann Elcher, Winder; one brother, Forroll Hall, Gainesville; three nieces, two nephews and one great-niece.

GAINESVILLE - George Gaddis Sr., 63, died Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at Lanier Park Hospital, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Gaddis was a son of the late Herman and Myrtie Rider Gaddis.
He was employed with CWT Farms, having worked in the maintenance department for several years. Mr. Gaddis was of the Baptist denomination.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jannie Underwood Gaddis, a daughter, Melinda Gaddis, and two brothers, Homer Rider and Idis Gaddis.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 13, in the Yellow Creek Baptist Church cemetery, Murrayville, with the Rev. Lonnie Baker officiating.
Survivors include one son, George Gaddis Jr., Dahlonega; one daughter, Jannie Wehunt, Homer; five brothers, Howard Gaddis, Webster Gaddis, Charlie Gaddis, Herman Gaddis and Winford Gaddis, all of Gainesville; three sisters, Rosalee Marsingile, Patsy Rider and Birdie Hatcher, all of Gainesville; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.

U.S. Navy veteran
HOSCHTON - Clyde Kiley, 61, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
Mr. Kiley was a son of the late Jesse and Bertha K. Kiley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had worked as a manager of a Fina Service Station.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, in Smith Memory Chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Mike Phillips, Don Leaptrott and Kenneth Brewer officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Kiley is survived by his wife, Brenda Kiley, Hoschton; one daughter, Renetta Kiley, Hoschton; one son, Chance Kiley, Hoschton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buck and Jody Kiley, Carl, Troy Clenton and Annie Mae Kiley, Hoschton; brother, Marvin Kiley, Lawrenceville; sister, Jewel Miller, Social Circle; sister and brother-in-law, Gene and Carol Turk, Ila; brother-in-law, George Ward; mother-in-law, Jewell Gaddis, Hoschton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

MR. TABOR
U.S. Army veteran
COMMERCE - Willie L. Tabor, 85, of Commerce, died Monday, January 15, 2001.
Mr. Tabor was a native of Banks County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a deacon at King Branch Baptist Church, Carnesville.
Mr. Tabor was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Tabor, and a daughter, Shirley Varnum.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at King Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. James Ramey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Cochran and Andria Lee Tabor, both of Athens, and Evelyn J. Gober, Dacula; and one son, William Van Tabor, Homer.
The family was to have received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moss-Stovall-Neal Funeral Home, Toccoa.
MR. HARRIS
Truck driver
COMMERCE - Henry C. Harris died Monday, January 15, 2001, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Mr. Harris was born April 29, 1938, a son of the late Henry Richard Harris and Elizabeth Towe Harris.
He was a truck driver, having worked for D&D Transportation for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Henry Webb and Johnny Loudermilk officiating. Burial will be in Banks Memorial Gardens, Homer, with military honors.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Barbara Cowart Harris, Commerce; one son, Tracy Harris, Hartwell; one brother, James W. Harris, Hartwell; four sisters, Virginia Billings, Starr, S.C., Henrietta O'Dell and Mary Clark, both of Hartwell, and Betty Hulsey, Mt. Airy; and two grandchildren.
The family was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
