BRASELTON - Mrs. Myrtie Grace Richardson, 86, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at Winder Health Care.
Mrs. Richardson was born December 15, 1914, a daughter of the late Andy and Jeanie B. McEver.
She was retired from Carwood Manufacturing and was a member of Walnut Fork Baptist Church. Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Richardson.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, in Smith Memory Chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. Kenneth Brewer officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Fork Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph (Delain) Richardson, Dacula, and Clarence Dennis Richardson, LaGrange; one brother, Julius McEver, Atlanta; sisters, Cora Bell Williams, Dacula, and Julia Martin, Braselton; grandchildren, Clarence Ricky Richardson and Sharon Elizabeth Doerr, LaGrange, Brian Todd Richardson, Braselton, and Carla Dawn Cobb, Snellville; and six great-grandchildren.

COMER - Mrs. Zorah Meadows died Friday, January 12, 2001.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, at Fairfield Baptist Church with the Rev. D.T. Jackson serving as pastor and the Rev. Ronald Gantt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Linton Meadows, Decatur, and Lanier Meadows, Comer; four daughters, Lizzie Carithers, Comer, Barbara Moore, Ellenwood, Berletha Bloodsaw, Phoenix, Ariz., and Rochelle Skelton, Hull; five sisters, Rosie Jones, Athens, Ida Brown, St. Paul, N.C., Trudy McKeever, Commerce, and Lula Colbert and Gladys Johnson, both of Danielsville; two brothers, Durham Johnson and James Johnson, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

MRS. COCHRAN

TALMO - Mrs. Willie Ruth Sizemore Cochran, 75, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Cochran was born September 26, 1925, in Blount County, Ala. She was a daughter of the late Clifford and Stella Mae Gilbert Sizemore.
Mrs. Cochran was retired from McEver Packing Company and was of the Baptist denomination. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Newton Cochran.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Jeff Langley officiating. Burial will be in the Pond Fork Baptist Church cemetery, Talmo. Conrad Ray, Darrell Moore, Joe Moore, Jeff Moore, Greg Howington, Michael Tate, Michael Buress, Chris Moore and Brent Moore will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Cochran is survived by one son, Roger Cochran, Talmo; two daughters, Jeanette Bales and Ruthie Watson, both of Talmo; three brothers, Henry Sizemore and Leslie Sizemore, both of Cumming, and Junior Sizemore, Mary Ester, Fla.; four sisters, Pauline Anderson, Flowery Branch, Betty Hamby, Cumming, Jean Mooney, Buford, and Runell Wallace, Alpharetta; nine grandchildren, Conrad Ray, Ronda Tate, Tina Buress, Joel Cochran, Towanda Moore, Jeff Moore, Joe Moore, Darrell Moore and Elaine Howington, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family was to have received friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

MR. HESTER
Lumpkin County native
GILLSVILLE - Bill E. Hester, 78, died Thursday, January 11, 2001, at Bell-Minor Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mr. Hester was born April 6, 1922, in Lumpkin County. He was a son of the late Lon and Ellen Perry Hester.
Mr. Hester worked as a machine operator in the textile industry and was a Baptist minister. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nishey Hall Hester, and his second wife, Montine Lockman Hester.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Revs. Bill Franklin, Robert Garrett, George Ward and Kevin Page officiating. Burial was in the Union Baptist Church cemetery, Winder.
Mr. Hester is survived by two daughters, Frankie Hulme, Homer, and Sharon Walker, Gainesville; two sisters, Fannie McElroy and Frances Williams, both of Winder; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

ORANGE PARK, FLA. - Mrs. Carrie Lee Shelnutt Sailers, 100, died Saturday, January 13, 2001, at Arbors of Orange Park.
Mrs. Sailers was born March 2, 1900, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Will and Lena Holcomb Shelnutt.
She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony Christian Church, Commerce. Mrs. Sailers was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Henry Sailers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 19, at Harmony Christian Church, with Jerry Payne officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry R. Sailers and William Lewis Sailers, both of Orange Park, Fla., and John W. Sailers, Acworth; 24 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Carol Elaine "Carkie" Williams, 36, of Athens, died Friday, December 29, 2000.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Williams was a daughter of Richard Williams, Colbert, and Louise Martin, Athens.
She was a member of Fork Bethel Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 3, 2001, at Fork Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. Rufus Whitlock and Victor Appling officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include two sons, Dietric Stribling and Kendrick Stribling, both of Athens; one sister, Lucretia Faust, Covington; three brothers, Donald Martin and Michael Williams, both of Lexington, and Larry Faust, Maxeys; and grandparents, James and Ruby Taylor, Lexington.

Mrs. Adell P. Elliott, of Commerce, died Saturday, December 30, 2000.
Mrs. Elliott was a daughter of the late H.C. Parr and Cora Ledford Elliott. She was the wife of the late Guy Elliott.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 1, 2001, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce. Burial was in the Grove Level Cemetery.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Glorila Elliott, Griffin; brother, Clyde Parr, Commerce; sister, Ruth Bingham, Maysville; grandchildren, Connie and Jeff Carden, Zebulon, Randy Elliott Sr. and Rebecca Elliott, both of Griffin, and Rachel and Mark Henson, Winder; and seven great-grandchildren.

Willard Stephens
Willard Stephens, 73, of Athens, died Saturday, December 30, 2000.
A native of Clarke County, Mr. Stephens was a son of the late Alexander and Cleo Weathers Stephens.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Champion Dairy Pak. Mr. Stephens was a member of Oconee Heights Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Spratlin Stephens.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 2, 2001, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Tom Lang officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Richard Horne, Johnny Stephens, Norman Cockrell, Larry Landrum, Ricky Nixon and Dan Harrell served as pallbearers.
Survivors include two sons, Kim Stephens, Athens, and Gene Stephens, Maysville; two daughters, Terry Evans and Tina Blount, both of Athens; one brother, J.C. Stephens, Greenwood, S.C.; two sisters, Gertrude Fields and Deloris Horne, both of Athens; grandchildren, Kristy Gee and Jackie Evans, both of Athens, and Nick Stephens, Maysville; great-grandchildren, Shane and Amber Gee, Athens; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Jeremy O'Brian Gearing, 15, of Hull, died Monday, January 1, 2001.
A native of Clarke County, Mr. Gearing was a son of Benard Lawrence Norman and Rebecca Baxter Gearing.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 4, in the Meadow Baptist Church cemetery with William Anglin officiating. Jason Baxter, Cory Davis, Brian Shields, Brandon Shields, David Moore and Kyle Haynes will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include five sisters, Candy Gearing, Donna Gearing and Elizabeth Gearing, all of Hull, and Patricia Norman and Carol Norman, both of Lincolnton; and one brother, Jason Baxter, Colbert.

A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Shetterley was a daughter of Sara W. Bates, Danielsville, and the late Julius Whitley.

Robert H. Jones
Robert Harold "Bob" Jones, 77, of Comer, formerly of Atlanta, died Monday, January 1, 2001.
Mr. Jones was a son of the late Robert Daniel and Ruby Ethel Pittman Jones.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and was retired from Link Belt-FMC, Atlanta. Mr. Jones was a longtime deacon of Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church, Atlanta, and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Lakewood.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, January 3, in Crestlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Harold Proctor officiating.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Diane Wood, Comer, and Sharon Gay Edge, Jonesboro; two sons, Robert Daniel Jones, Melbourne, Fla., and James Edward Jones, Atlanta; two brothers, Thomas E. Jones, Atlanta, and David E. Jones, Fayetteville; three sisters, Evelyn Dixon, Rex, Lottie Stringer, Lawrenceville, and Margaret Dorkin, Stockbridge; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
