Reba L. Patterson
Mrs. Reba L. Patterson, 90, of Hull, died Tuesday, January 25, 2000.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Patterson was a daughter of the late Robert and Viola Patton Carter.
She was a retired seamstress, had attended Joy Baptist Church and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Lance, and her second husband, Cleo Patterson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 27, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Ric Veal and Bill Wood officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery. David Black, Barry Black, Malcolm Lance, Gabriel Black, Bobby Hardy and Bo Lance served as pallbearers.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Black, Hull; three sons, Bill Lance, Bob Lance and Tom Patterson, all of Hull; two sisters, Geneva Gunnells, Athens, and Eunice Strickland, Colbert; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.

Michael L. Wright
Michael Lee "Tink" Wright, 39, of Comer, died Thursday, January 27, 2000.
A native of Stephens County, Mr. Wright was a son of the late Freddy B. Wright and Hazel Ann Alexander Wright.
He was a skilled craftsman and a full-time father.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, on top of Currhea Mountain, Toccoa, with the Rev. Steve Welch officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy A. Bales, Nicholson; three daughters, Dustie Leeann Kitchen, Winder, and Mychael Tori Wright and Juanita Ann Wright, both of Comer; one brother, James H. Wright, Lexington; one sister, Nita Wright Phillips, Danielsville; and one granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the "Michael 'Tink' Wright" Memorial Fund, c/o Nita Phillips, Merchants and Farmers Bank, P.O. Box 520, Hull, GA 30646.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 6, at the home of Randy and Sherry Miller, Toccoa.
Cremation Society of the South, Austell, was in charge of arrangements.

Darlene S. Potts
Mrs. Darlene S. Potts, 68, of Nicholson, died Thursday, January 13, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Potts was born June 20, 1931, in Ogden, Utah. She was a daughter of the late Eldo and Elizabeth Harrison Slater.
Mrs. Potts was retired from Reliance Electric and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 15, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Mike Stowers officiating. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson.
Survivors include one daughter, Stacey Standridge, Nicholson; son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Tammy Standridge, Nicholson; one step-son, Marty Standridge, Athens; three sisters, Jill Williams, Washington State, Jackie Ward, Nevada, and Sheila Standridge, Athens; three brothers, Gary Slater and Michael McKane, both of Nevada, and Tom Slater, Utah; and one grandson, Colton Standridge, Nicholson.
Jackson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph P. Denham
Joseph Paul Denham, 82, of Commerce, died Wednesday, January 12, 2000.
Mr. Denham was born May 16, 1917, in Alabama.
He was a World War II veteran and was retired from Coats & Clark, Toccoa. Mr. Denham was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 14, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. Doug Duncan and Danny Whitsel officiating. Burial was in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Willard Denham; and two sisters, Helen Jones, Panama City Beach, Fla., and Cathryn Taylor, Montezuma.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

Danny T. Tucker
Danny Thomas Tucker, 43, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Tifton, brother of Dorothy Tucker Purvis, Commerce, died Thursday, January 13, 2000.
Mr. Tucker was born January 19, 1956, in Sparks, Ga. (Cook County). He was a son of the late Ben J. and Grace Rowan Tucker.
Mr. Tucker was employed as an electrician and was of the Baptist denomination. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Tucker, and a sister, Frances T. Brewer.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 17, in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home, Tifton, with the Rev. Hilton Purvis officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Buddy Brewer, Jack Tucker, Greg Tucker, Terry Tucker, Christopher Tucker, Shane Tucker, Bo Purvis, Johnny Tucker Jr., Jimmy Purvis, Joey Hampton and Burton Ritchi served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to his sister, include one son, Ben Tucker, United States Navy; four brothers, Jimmy Tucker, Tifton, Johnny Tucker, Nashville, Billy Tucker, Pace, Fla., and Ben Tucker, Jacksonville, Fla.; and sister, Kathy Tucker, Atlanta.
Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dewey R. Kelley
Dewey Rose Kelley, 50, of Colbert, died Thursday, January 13, 2000.
Mr. Kelley was born in Madison County, a son of the late Bunyan Monore and Flora Garrett Kelley.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during Vietnam, and had been employed with Fowler Products Company. Mr. Kelley was of the Baptist denomination.
Graveside services were held Monday, January 17, in the Collier Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Don Fuller officiating.
Survivors include two sisters, Brenda Faye Damron, Colbert, and Addie Cloe Hill, Holly Hill, Fla.; and one brother, Reuben Ben Kelley, Elberton.
Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.

A.B. Carlan Sr.
A.B. Carlan Sr., 80, of DeSoto, died Thursday, January 6, 2000, at Perfect Care, Americus.
A native of Commerce, Mr. Carlan was born June 29, 1919. He was a son of the late Count Pulaski and Therise Brooks Carlan.
Mr. Carlan attended public schools in Banks County, graduating from Banks County High School in 1938. He was a 1943 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Agriculture, with a BSA degree major in agricultural economics.
Mr. Carlan served in the 3rd United States Army Infantry 357th, 90th division during World War II. He was Infantry Unit Commander, Rifle Company in European Theater of Operations and was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster for Bravery In Action. Mr. Carlan was also awarded the Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster (wounded twice), five Battle Stars and the Victory Medal.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 8, at DeSoto United Methodist Church with the Revs. Emory Gilbert, Claude Fullerton and Jerry Lillard officiating. Burial was in DeSoto City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nancy Sumerford Carlan; daughter and son-in-law, Kitty Carlan and Roy Fricks, Americus; sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur Buell and Paula Carlan, St. Marks, Fla., and William Lawrence and Susan Carlan, Monroe; two sisters, Bertha Mae Thomas, Jefferson, and Kathleen Pruitt, Commerce; one brother, Ulysess Grant Carlan, Valdosta; and six grandchildren, Arthur Buell Carlan III, Tallahassee, Fla., Sidney Frances Carlan, St. Marks, Fla., William Austin Fricks and Christopher Carlan Fricks, both of Americus, and Hannah Adeline Carlan and Jake Cobb Carlan, both of Monroe.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Bill Harris, 1801 Rose Ave., Americus, GA 31709; DeSoto United Methodist Church, DeSoto, GA 31743; or to Eterna Club University of Georgia School of Agriculture, Conner Hall, Athens, GA 30606.

Eleanor P. Burger
Mrs. Eleanor Prickett Burger, 89, of Jefferson, died Friday, January 14, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Burger was born June 29, 1910, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of the late Lovic and Bell Garrison Prickett.
Mrs. Burger had worked as a secretary and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Burger.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 16, at Dry Pond United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Williams officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two great-nieces, Barbaranne Hammond, Jefferson, and Marcia Hudson, Forest Park; and three great-nephews, Christopher Head, Roanoke, Va., Michael Head, Wilmington, N.C., and Patrick Head, Marietta.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

Emma L. Kent
Mrs. Emma Lucille Savage Kent, 88, of Toccoa, died Monday, January 17, 2000.
A native of Hall County, Mrs. Kent was a daughter of the late Allen and Emma Harrington Savage.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Toccoa, where she served in the Chancel Choir and was a member of the Rhodes Sunday School Class, the Friendship Club and the Offbeat Band.
Mrs. Kent was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie I. Kent.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 19, at the First United Methodist Church of Toccoa with the Rev. Jack Lamb officiating. Burial was in the Holly Springs United Methodist Church cemetery. Chuck Hughes, Allen Hughes, Tony Kent, Bill Zanca, Kevin Boydston and Gene Price served as pallbearers. Those who served as honorary escort were Kyle Purcell, Andy Crawford, George Ware, Tony Smith and Jack Eldridge.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Hughes, Charlottesville, Va.; one son, Donald Kent, Cleveland; four sisters, Bonnie Brown, Ollie Henry and Evelyn Lipscomb, all of Maysville, and Louise Tolbert, Gainesville; one brother, Denver Savage, Maysville; and five grandchildren.
Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa, was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Maddox
Mrs. Margaret Maddox, 79, of Danielsville, died Thursday, January 13, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Maddox was a daughter of the late Russell Collie and Lottie Quillan Landers Carithers.
She was retired from Colbert Manufacturing Company and was of the Baptist denomination.
Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Maddox.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 15, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Tony Lee officiating. Burial was in the Meadow Baptist Church cemetery. Jeff Dillard, Shane Smith, Walter Smith, Tommy Dillard, Edward Duncan and Darral Scoggins served as pallbearers.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Dillard, Danielsville; two sisters, Alma Parham, Comer, and Mary Ann Rigby, Jonesboro; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.

MR. MCKINNEY
West Virginia native
JEFFERSON - Don Jack McKinney, 59, died Wednesday, January 26, 2000, at Crawford W. Long Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. McKinney was born in Skelton, W.Va., the son of the late Marion Buskirk and Ray Sloan.
He was employed as a control operator for an electrical power plant. Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy McKinney.
Memorial services will be held in California at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Barbra Ann Nolan McKinney; one son, Thomas McKinney, Holtville, Calif.; two daughters, Patricia Burnworth and Melinda McNaughton, both of Holtville, Calif.; his step-mother, Ester Sloan, Pennsylvania; five sisters, Carol Riley, New York; Margaret Saunders, Ohio; Arbutus Ness and Marie Fisher, both of Pennsylvania; and Rajean Durschlag, Florida; and six grandchildren.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
