MILAN - Mrs. Rhonda Ann Conner Elliott died Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at Fairview Park Hospital, Dublin.
Mrs. Elliott was born in Telfair County.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 22, in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home, Helena, with the Rev. Dr. Bob Frey officiating. Burial was in the Mount Olivet Church cemetery, Wheeler County.
Survivors include her husband, Russ Elliott; mother and step-father, Linda Sue and Phillip Jones, Homer; grandmother, Mrs. Beatrice Conner, Milan; one uncle, Jack Conner, Milan; and two aunts, Debbie Conner, Milan, and Cynthia Glaze, Cumming.

MRS. WOODS
Mother of countians
COMER - Mrs. Florence Woods, 71, died Tuesday, January 18, 2000, at Cobb Health Care.
Mrs. Woods was born February 28, 1928, in Gainesville. She was a daughter of the late Carl Thomas and Tressie Wilson Lord.
Mrs. Woods had been employed with Harmony Grove Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Woods.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 20, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Donald Wilson and Jimmy Owensby officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin Brown, Homer, and Harry Columbus Thomas, Danielsville; two daughters, Dorothy Garrett, Comer, and Martha Worley, Homer; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

MRS. HOOPER
Seamstress
MAYSVILLE - Mrs. Estelle E. Hooper, 89, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mrs. Hooper was born July 14, 1910, in Homer. She was a daughter of the late Colonel and Vassie Ayers Shubert.
Mrs. Hooper had worked as a seamstress with Blue Bell Manufacturing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hooper, a son, Kenneth Hooper, two brothers, Weldon and Dillard Shubert, and a sister, Grace Reid.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 21, at Maysville Baptist Church with the Revs. Bob Watson, Bob Scruton and Brian Stowe officiating. Burial was in the Silver Shoals Baptist Church cemetery, Homer.
Mrs. Hooper is survived by a daughter-in-law, Jennell Hooper, Maysville; and a sister-in-law, Annie B. Shubert, Maysville.

BUCHANAN - Mrs. Mary Ann Ertzberger, 61, sister of Lewis Minnix, Commerce, died Friday, January 21, 2000.
Mrs. Ertzberger was born in Atlanta.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 24, in the chapel of L.W. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, Cumming.
Survivors, in addition to her brother, include her husband, Marvin Ertzberger; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Mike Carson, Cumming; four sons, Russell Ertzberger, Troyce Ertzberger and Rodney Ertzberger, all of Buchanan, and Tony Ertzberger, Cumming; one sister, Sylvia Minnix, Atlanta; brother, Terry Minnix, Buchanan; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

COMMERCE - Mrs. Linda Joyce Maney Lord, 51, died Thursday, January 20, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Lord was born April 18, 1948, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Lee Edgar and Vera Beatrice Crumley Maney.
Mrs. Lord was employed with the Jackson County Health Department and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 23, at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlton Peters officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce. Steven Cash, Todd Bramlett, Eddie Hubbard, Cary Hubbard, Ricky Hogan and Kenneth Campbell served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Lord; two sons, Derrick Lord and Dustin Lord, both of Commerce; three sisters, Brenda Cash, Homer, Vernell Hubbard, Lula, and Gwen Maney, Commerce; and two grandchildren, Bailee and Jessie Lord, both of Commerce.

Jo E. Allison
Mrs. Jo Eller Dyer Beck Allison, Commerce, 81, formerly of Hall County, died Monday, January 24, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Allison was born in White County, but had lived in Hall County for a number of years before moving to Commerce to live with her daughter.
She was a daughter of the late Lester and Annie Dyer.
Mrs. Allison was a retired manager from the Roses Cafeteria and was a member of the Gainesville Church of God. She was preceded in death by her first husband, C.P. Beck, and her second husband, Clyde Allison.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 26, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, with the Revs. C.A. Residter and Theo Arnett officiating. Mrs. Allison's grandchildren delivered the eulogy.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Margie and Buddy Ayers, Commerce, Mary and Joe Wright, Buford, and Donna and Chuck Kennedy, Punta Gorda, Fla.; sons and daughters-in-law, Willard and Patsy Beck, Punta Gorda, Fla., and Leonard and Brenda Beck, Flowery Branch; one brother, Clinton Dyer, Gainesville; one sister, Myrtle Elinburg, Commerce; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Nell M. Atkins
Mrs. Nell M. Atkins, 66, of Commerce, died Thursday, January 27, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Atkins was a daughter of the late George and Ary Salter McDonald.
She was co-founder of Norcross Tag Company, located in Jefferson, and was a member of Center United Methodist Church, Vidalia.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, February 2, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with Teddi Dial and Sam Dial officiating.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Laing Atkins; son and daughter-in-law, Al and Krista Ginn Atkins, Jefferson; daughter and son-in-law, Laing and Mark A. Hayes, Commerce; brother and sister-in-law, Lake and Pearl McDonald, Vidalia; sister, Juanita Mann, Atlanta; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Jack Sickterman, Venice, Fla, Erleen and Andre Garr, Georgetown, S.C., and Lee and Phil Hoke, York, Pa.; and three grandsons, Michael Hayes, Robert Hayes and Gregory Hayes.

Florence S. Butts
Mrs. Florence S. Butts, 82, of Atlanta, died Friday, January 28, 2000, at Walton County Medical Center, Monroe, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Butts was born December 10, 1917, in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a daughter of the late Charles P. and Geanette Gumpert Schou.
Mrs. Butts served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during World War II in North Africa, where she met her future husband, a captain in the Army.
She lived most of her life in Monroe, but was a resident of Athens and Atlanta during her last years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Monroe, in which she was a member. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery, Monroe.
Survivors include her husband, Joel Bernard Butts; two daughters, Barbara Beardsley, Commerce, and Susan Foster, Atlanta; two sisters, Georgine Mulholland, Rutland, Vt., and Dorothy Metzler, Ambler, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

John A. Dorothy
John Allen Dorothy, 61, of Hull, died Wednesday, January 26, 2000.
Mr. Dorothy was born in Rehobeth, Mass., the son of the late Charles and Adrianna Caldwell Dorothy.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Crosby Valve & Gage Company. Mr. Dorothy was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Paradis Dorothy.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 28, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Joy Nellisery officiating. Burial was in Athens Memory Gardens. Shane Couch, Terry Morgan, John Bellew, JR Bellew, Charlie Rush and Danny Ford served as pallbearers.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia L. Rush, Carlton, and Laurie A. Kidder, Wrentham, Mass.; one son, Michael J. Dorothy, Commerce; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Terry L. Kitchens
Terry Leonard Kitchens, 42, of Comer, died Saturday, January 29, 2000.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Kitchens was a son of the late Lovic and Estelle Roberts Kitchens.
Graveside services were held Monday, January 31, in the Indian Creek Baptist Church cemetery, Franklin County.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Kitchens; two daughters, Kerry Marie Kitchens, Comer, and Amy Marie Mathis, Homer; one son, Timothy Leonard Kitchens, Commerce; two sisters, Ruth Vaughn, Homer, and Joyce K. Brock, Danielsville; one brother, James Edward Kitchens, Danielsville; and one grandson.

Robert S. Berry
Robert S. "Chip" Berry, 49, of Kennesaw, formerly of Commerce, died Thursday, January 27, 2000, at Kennestone Hospital.
Mr. Berry was born September 25, 1950, in Habersham County. He was a son of the late Robert S. and Josephine Andrews Berry.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Warren Huddleston officiating. Entombment was in Stephens Memorial Garden, Toccoa.
Mr. Berry is survived by four cousins, Jimmy Andrews, Thomasville, N.C., Mike Andrews, Kennesaw, Rusty Andrews, Charlotte, N.C., and Kim Newman, Bristol, Tenn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Heart Association or to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
