Kenneth "Jackson County Red" Johnson, 39, of Atlanta, died Monday, January 24, 2000.
Mr. Johnson was a son of Herman and Ruby Johnson, Jefferson. He was self-employed.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 27, in Willis Chapel of Mack & Payne Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. William Jennings officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Debora Johnson; two sons, Travis Johnson, Athens, and Jarvis Lee, Winder; three sisters, Glenda Harrison, Maysville, Sharon Richardson, Jefferson, and Marcia Penson, Woodstock; one brother, Herman Laray Johnson, Jefferson; grandmother, Lula Cox, Jefferson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Lillie M. Wilkie
Mrs. Lillie Muriel Barrett Wilkie, 76, of Danielsville, died Friday, January 28, 2000, at Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Wilkie was born April 27, 1923, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late William A. and Myrtle Allen Barrett.
Mrs. Wilkie was a homemaker and a member of Community Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 31, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. David Strickland officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Wilkie; two sons, Major William D. Wilkie, Hampton, Va., and Ronald S. Wilkie, Cleveland; one brother, Charles E. Barrett, Stockbridge; one sister, Bessie Wheeler, Danielsville; and eight grandchildren.
Coy E. Leachman
Coy E. Leachman, 70, of Homer, died Monday, January 31, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Banks County, Mr. Leachman was a son of the late Claude W. Leachman and Roxie Gosnell Leachman.
He was a retired truck driver.
Mr. Leachman was preceded in death by a sister, Charlie Lou Leachman.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 2, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Brenda Clark and David Garrison officiating. Burial was in the Ridgeway Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sue E. Esther H. Burden
Mrs. Esther Hulsey Burden, 83, of Danielsville, died Saturday, January 29, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Burden was born November 24, 1916, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late Isiah Zade and Pearlie Ann Bridges Hulsey.
Mrs. Burden was a retired seamstress and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Burden.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Dayton Logan and Mark Palmer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Burden's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Joyce Floyd, Anderson, S.C., Patricia Anne Binns, Travelers Rest, S.C., and Donna Jean Lakey, Adona, Ark.; four sons, Rupert Kendell Dean, Wayne Douglas Dean and James Tony Dean, all of Danielsville, and Dwight Winston Dean, Nicholson; three sisters, Edna Anderson and Mazelle Stowe, both of Toccoa, and Beatrice Drake, Danielsville; one brother, Oren Hulsey, Eastanollee; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Michael L. Wright
Michael Lee "Tink" Wright, 39, of Comer, died Thursday, January 27, 2000.
A native of Stephens County, Mr. Wright was a son of the late Freddy B. Wright and Hazel Ann Alexander Wright.
He was a skilled craftsman and a full-time father.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, on top of Currhea Mountain, Toccoa, with the Rev. Steve Welch officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy A. Bales, Nicholson; three daughters, Dustie Leeann Kitchen, Winder, and Mychael Tori Wright and Juanita Ann Wright, both of Comer; one brother, James H. Wright, Lexington; one sister, Nita Wright Phillips, Danielsville; and one granddaughter.

Mrs. Margie Rich Brown, 57, of Danielsville, died Thursday, January 27, 2000.
Mrs. Brown was born in Madison County, the daughter of Annie L. Booth Rich and the late Charles L. Rich.
She was employed as a plant manager with Scientific Atlanta and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Brown.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, at Providence Baptist Church with the Revs. Albert Vaughn and Johnny Tucker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Phil Brown, Chris Carver, Nelson Stovall, Larry Evans, Jr. McGee, Billy Booth, Tim Hardeman and Jr. Shields served as pallbearers.

HOSCHTON - Miss Bertha C. Flanigan, 92, of the Duncan Creek Community, died Friday, January 14, 2000.
A lifelong resident of Gwinnett County, Miss Flanigan was a daughter of the late Jim and Della Braswell Flanigan.
She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Duncan Creek Congregational Christian Church, where she was a member of the Adult Bible Sunday School Class.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 16, at Duncan Creek Congregational Church with the Revs. Millard Sims, A.J. Mullinax and Dee Dillin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

COMMERCE - Travis Simmons, 75, died Friday, January 14, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Mr. Simmons was born July 10, 1924 in Homer.
He had been employed with Garrison Brothers Lumber Company and was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 16, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Leroy Chastain and Tom Garrett officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.

COMMERCE - Joseph Paul Denham, 82, died Wednesday, January 12, 2000.
Mr. Denham was born May 16, 1917, in Alabama.
He was a World War II veteran and was retired from Coats & Clark, Toccoa. Mr. Denham was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 14, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. Doug Duncan and Danny Whitsel officiating. Burial was in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Willard Denham; and two sisters, Helen Jones, Panama City Beach, Fla., and Cathryn Taylor, Montezuma.
