Mrs. Ruby Lee Williams, 67, of Danielsville, died Saturday, January 22, 2000.
Mrs. Williams was born September 11, 1932, a daughter of the late John and Lessie Meadow Brock.
She served as a group leader at General Time, Athens, and as a nurse's aid at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens. Mrs. Williams was a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Monday, January 24, in the Moon's Grove Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Tony Lee officiating.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Roger H. Williams; one daughter, Regina Embrick, Danielsville; and one sister, Mary Minish, Athens.

Parker D. Hanley
Parker Daniel Hanley, infant son of Danny and Manda Haley Hanley, Hull, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000.
Private services were held with the Rev. Barry Black officiating.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandparents, Jim and Nancy Hanley, Athens, and Beth Haley, Comer.

Stanley Hollis
Stanley Hollis, 44, of Pendergrass, died Sunday, January 9, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Hollis was born July 15, 1955. He was a son of Annie Maude Crane Hollis and the late L.J. Hollis.
Mr. Hollis was employed in dry wall construction.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 12, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Johnny Knight officiating. Burial was in the Pond Fork Baptist Church cemetery, Pendergrass.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Debra Hollis; one daughter, Stacy Hollis, Jefferson; one step-daughter, Amy Jo Edwards, Jefferson; three sons, Shane S. Hollis, Todd Hollis and Jason Hollis, all of Pendergrass; one step-son, Anthony Ayers, Madison County; four sisters, Irene Funderburk and Judy Owens, both of Jefferson, Betty Hamilton, Maysville, and Debbie Poole, Gainesville; four brothers, J.D. Hollis, Lexington, and Hoyt Hollis, Danny Hollis and Jimmy Hollis, all of Pendergrass; and 11 grandchildren.

Paul H. White
Paul H. White, 79, of Danielsville, died Monday, January 24, 2000.
Mr. White was born in Slye County, South Georgia. He was a son of the late Paul and Hoyt Henley White.
Mr. White was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II, and had worked as a painter for Construction Steele.
He was a member of Community Baptist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, January 26, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Frost White; one daughter, Nancy Lord, Hartwell; one son, Michael Frank White, Danielsville; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paul H. White Fund, Madison County Library, P.O. Box 38, Danielsville, GA 30633-0038.

Jewel B. Russell
Mrs. Jewel Butler Russell, 91, of Colbert, died Sunday, January 23, 2000.
A lifelong resident of Madison County, Mrs. Russell was a daughter of the late Plumer and Emma Benton Butler.
She was a homemaker and a member of Colbert Baptist Church. Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her husband, Collier Vines Russell.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 25, at Colbert Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Fuller and Tom Lange officiating. Burial was in Colbert Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty A. Smith, Comer, and Gail Russell Pratt, Jasper; one son, Billy Russell, Colbert; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

MR. STOUDENMIRE

MAXEYS - James D. Stoudenmire Sr., 59, died Friday, January 21, 2000.
A native of Uniontown, Ala., Mr. Stoudenmire was a son of Mary Hill Engler, Maxeys, and the late Julian D. Stoudenmire.
Moving from Jefferson, he had lived in the Maxeys area for 19 years.
Mr. Stoudenmire served as an assistant principal and a physical education teacher for the last 35 years. During this time, he also coached football for a total of 32 years. Beginning in Jefferson, he served for 17 years, two years in the Monroe area and the last 13 years at Oglethorpe County High.
Mr. Stoudenmire was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 23, at Lexington Baptist Church, Lexington, with the Revs. Harry Warren, Billy Tucker and George Hall officiating. Burial was in Clarke Cemetery. Bill Nunnally, Cooper Dyer, Hamilton Weston, Billy Sanders, Jim Lofton and Jimmy Germany served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Carlene C. Stoudenmire; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Melanie Stoudenmire, Jefferson, Ken and Lisa Stoudenmire, Pelham, and Tim and Penni Stoudenmire, Madison; daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Brent Griffiths, Winterville; and two granddaughters, Rachel and Rebecca Stoudenmire, both of Jefferson.

Mrs. Jeanette P. Hancock, 72, of Commerce, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Hancock was a daughter of the late Hattie Pittman.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 22, at Fair Play Baptist Church with the Rev. G. Mitchell officiating.
Survivors include her husband, William Smith, Commerce; five sons, Roger Hancock, John Ralph Hancock, Ricky Hancock, Billy Hancock and Terry Hancock, all of Commerce; three daughters, Nancy Fleming, Toccoa, Vernoica Anderson, Commerce, and Virginia Curry, Gainesville; one sister, Mae T. Witcher, Athens; and one brother, John S. Pittman, Commerce.

Estelle E. Hooper
Mrs. Estelle E. Hooper, 89, of Maysville, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mrs. Hooper was born July 14, 1910, in Homer. She was a daughter of the late Colonel and Vassie Ayers Shubert.
Mrs. Hooper had worked as a seamstress with Blue Bell Manufacturing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hooper, a son, Kenneth Hooper, two brothers, Weldon and Dillard Shubert, and a sister, Grace Reid.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 21, at Maysville Baptist Church with the Revs. Bob Watson, Bob Scruton and Brian Stowe officiating. Burial was in the Silver Shoals Baptist Church cemetery, Homer.
Mrs. Hooper is survived by a daughter-in-law, Jennell Hooper, Maysville; and a sister-in-law, Annie B. Shubert, Maysville.

Clarice Morris
Mrs. Clarice Morris, 73, of Maysville, died Saturday, January 22, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce, following an extended illness.
A native of Hall County, Mrs. Morris had lived in Jackson County for the past four years. She had lived most of her life in Hall and Lumpkin counties.
Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and a member of Browns Chapel Church, Lumpkin County. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. W.L. "Luke" Morris.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 25, at Browns Chapel Church with the Revs. Bobby Scott and Junior Evans officiating. Burial was in the Springway Baptist Church cemetery, Hall County.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Diane Massey, Maysville; one brother, Lewis Allen, Blue Ridge; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several other relatives.

Lofton Benton
Lofton Benton, 83, of Commerce, died Sunday, January 23, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens.
Mr. Benton was born April 10, 1916, in Jackson County. He was a son of the late William McDaniel and Mary Frances Porter Benton.
Mr. Benton was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II, and was retired from Blue Bell Manufacturing. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Mr. Benton was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Hood Benton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 25, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Brad Wilson and Verlin Reese officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Herbert, Commerce, and Michelle Jacobs, Macon; one sister, Dannie Lee Wilbanks, Commerce; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Maybelle B. Smith
Mrs. Maybelle Baugh Smith, 82, of Maysville, died Sunday, January 23, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Andrew and Cynthia Cagle Baugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Oliver Smith.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 25, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce. Burial was in the Grove Level Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Hoyt Eugene Smith, Atlanta, Calvin Smith, Homer, and Randy Smith, Liberty, S.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Brake, Maysville; one brother, Juluis Baugh, Maysville; one sister, Imogene Wilson, Gillsville; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
